Embossed Christmas tree

Hi, I had rather a busy day yesterday and no time to craft. I was going through a box which had all my scraps etc and came across this embossed tree from last year which I had probably  planned to use but didn't.  Anyway, I had a few minutes to spare and so matted it onto silver mirri card. I had a pile of peel offs next to my desk which are about to be given away ( I don't know why I bought all these things because I rarely ever used them) and since I didn't really have time to get out my Grand Calibur and start looking for dies I had a quick flick through the peel offs. A few minutes later I had this little card finished.  Extremely simple, but at least it gives me something to pop on my blog now. I've got a busy week ahead so not sure when I'll get the time to do any crafting.

Because it was so late when I did this the light had gone so the picture is not too great.

I hope you all have a good day.

With love from Christine xx

Hi Christine,
this is a very lovely quickie card. I know I always say this but your cards always have a wonderful classical look to them. I hope you do find time to craft in the week. Thank you for all your lovely comments on my blog. Have a great crafty day everyone.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Morning Christine,
Well I am still up so I thought I would do my comment for today so I wouldn't forget when busy again.
This is such a pretty design and although you used the peeloffs that you didn't want to, it has in now way detracted from the beauty of it.
I am like you, too many peeloffs. A tip for you, don't give them all away, save them as masks. Take off a bit of tackiness (stick to your clothes first), place in various positions over card/paper and then spritz or ink with sponge or applicator. Remove & place somewhere else and ink with different colour if desired and create your own backgrounds. Practice and play and you will find you can create some wonderful backgrounds. That has reminded me to do some also, as I haven't done it for a while myself....lol!
I do hope you manage to find some time to relax and craft in your busy week. If not we'll be here when you do.
Take care dear friend. Hugs Linda xx

Morning Christine, a lovely clean and simple card that is very effective. As Linda said the peal offs in no way detract from the beauty. Hope your week goes well and you get some time to craft.

Hi Christine - this is really pretty - I bet you are glad you found it and decided to finish it off!!! I am the same with peel-offs and I used some the other day because I'd just found out that my new neighbour was moving in that afternoon! Couldn't resist making a card (I'd make a card for the opening of a match box - well you know how it is). I'll put the card on my blog some time.

Also - and this is why I lurve blogging - I had forgotten, totally, about using them as masks. So thanks loads again to my blog buddy Linda for reminding us about backing papers and peel-offs and EXPERIMENTING!

Hugs to you Sue P xxxx

Hi Sue, I hope you are ok. I keep checking your blog! Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, you're right, I knew about the masking technique but had totally forgotten about it. Good job we have Linda! Love from Christine x
