Eazy Pizzy

Hello friends. After yesterdays' foggy start it turned out to be a gorgeous day, and the same again today.   Started out very foggy again, in fact it was still dark at 6:45.  I guess the light just couldn't break through the fog. But  the sun  definitely came through eventually, which is just what we need, otherwise the winter will seem very long.  So another lovely day. We are being spoiled.

Just back from the hospital. Fortunately there wasn't too much of a delay so John didn't get too uptight today. Flippin' men!!

My Project

More boxes again today

I have made two mini pizza boxes.  They are exactly the same size, 4 inches square and 1 inch deep, but look so different.  I left the first one very plain and used purple striped card stock. I made a band to go round the middle which just slides off.   The centre band really transforms what is a very plain box.  I die cut the largest die from SB Venetian Motifs and then made the purple and white aster from SB HeartFelt Creations Delicate Asters.

The second one I cut from ivory card stock and then used Martha Stewart PATP Cherish punches to make the top and bottom.   I added an old LOTV topper which has been in my stash since forever, and then just added some pearls, poinsettias and Cheery Lynn Flourish leaves which were in the drawer with the other ready cut  stuff.

I really love these little boxes.  They are the simplest boxes to make and yet can look so different depending how you decorate them.   I also like the way the lid is attached to the base.  For this size you only need a piece of card 6" x 11".  I have adjusted the measurements and made bigger ones and deeper ones in the past so they are pretty versatile.  However, I have only ever made square ones.  My next task will be a rectangular box.

Hi Christine,
what fab boxes. I love them both, but I am really drawn to that lovely wedgewood
blue one. The colour is so lovely, and that beautiful band round the middle is great.
Now it's very funny as I have made some very little and simple cards, and was about to make a box for them to go in.
Been looking after Ellie today so I am a little late commenting.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hope the mooing neighbours are behaving.

Hi Christine. These are lovely. I really like your aster and the punched borders really transform the box. Is there a tutorial on how to make these pizza boxes somewhere? I'm thinking of making some with my brownies for fundraising at our Christmas bazaar? Thanks.x

Hi Christine - I am such a poor friend!!! I have been struggling with cards, cats and keyboads. Anyway I am here now and I think those boxes are superb! I love all of them and they really do look so different. You have decorated them perfectly. You could sell these on a craft stall - in between everything else you have to do - lol. Seriously though, they would sell really well because they are beautiful.

Big hugs to you Sue Pxxx
