Neat and Tidy Steam Punk

Hello everybody. Thanks for popping by today.  My title certainly seems to be a contradiction doesn't it?
Q:   How can steam punk be neat and tidy?  A:  When it is made by me! Lol!  As my older followers know (and by that I mean long term not old as in age!) I don't do steam punk.  I like my crafting to be quite neat - I even find shabby chic a bit out of my comfort zone.  However, I have had these Kanban toppers for a while and am steadily working through them.

My Card

This card is for my sister whose husband will be 70 next week.  Unfortunately he had a small stroke a few weeks ago and is temporarily unable to drive.  His  post-stroke exhaustion meant he was not able to get out much, until their son hit on the idea of hiring one of those mobility scooters for a few weeks.   Now when they go out together to exercise their little dog poor Jeanie is shattered trying to keep up with him!  As for Mollie, their miniature Yorkie, she gets back home and zonks out!! My sister loved the idea of this image because it fit the situation so well.  Mind you, I wouldn't like this one roaring up behind me in the shopping precinct. Lol!

Sorry for the glare but the sun was hitting the gold mirri card no matter what I did to try and prevent it.  I'm not complaining about the sun - but I will try again later if it goes behind a cloud.

I made an easel card and put the verse underneath the base of the card.  The topper and cogs background card are from Kanban and the cogs are a mixture of some die cuts I already had and others cut from Papermania cog dies.

Well that's all from me today

Hello Christine, what a fabulous card, and I would think it just fits the bill perfectly for your BIL. Love your design and the image with all the fantastic cogs.

Brilliant card Christine, fits the bill perfectly. Great image, your BIL will love it.
I am a bit like yourself, I basically like neat and tidy. I have never actually manage to get round to doing anything "Steampunk" as yet. Managed a little bit Shabby Chic now and again although even that is a little out of my comfort zone.
Funny how we all like to do different things. I admire lots of the wonderful "grungy" things some people do, just cant do it myself. It would probably be a very dull world if we were all the same all of the time.
Have a Great Weekend
Hugs

Love this Christine, I think that doing something steampunk is great for the soul, makes a nice change from the usual flowers and lace thing.

This is wonderful Christine. I love that image and brilliant detailing.
I totally know what you mean about the whole steampunk theme. I really struggle with that style. Yours is fabulous though.
I hope you have a good weekend

OMGee! The idea of one of those motability scooters being done up like this - that is a fab image that I hope won't rush from my memory. I don't normally like Steampunk, I don't get that grunge and muckiness of style but I do love shabby chic and would like to be able to do that. This is gorgeous Christine, and I am sure will bring a smile to the face of a lot of the family xx

Well it is neat and tidy but an awesome steampunk as well...that image is rather funny. Love steampunk and don't do enough of it, nice to see a bit of grunge. I tend to get sick of doing the pretties all the time so just love this one.xxx

Hi Christine - I just love this one - especially with the story behind it! I will email you asap but the 'in-house' training is taking up a lot of time - LOL! I had forgotten what younger cats were like. Anyway, despite Steampunk being out of your comfort zone you really have made a fantastic job of this one. Love the cogs etc.

Big hugs to you Sue Pxxx

Christine this is brilliant. I love it. My husband has had 3 strokes and the tiredness stays quite a while. We try to get out for short walks which have really helped.
