Highest Mountain

Good afternoon folk.  Well, a mixed bag of weather today.  Extremely heavy frost first thing then very cold and showery, but heavy rain is forecast.  John hasn't taken down the scaffold yet.  He wants to see what happens when we have very heavy rain with the wind blowing in a particularly direction.  In that way he can see whether his repairs have worked.   Since he did it we have had no leaks, but having said that, the rain only comes in with the wind driving the rain.  So it's wait and see.  I have everything crossed! Lol!

My Card

Click on image  to enlarge picture.

My card today is for a young man who is going through a particularly trying time and I think the sentiment is fitting.  I love this ODBD stamp and have used it often.  It was stamped with Brilliance  Pearlescent Ivy onto white card stock and  die cut with  SB Resplendent Rectangles. I then cut the next size die with pearlescent green card.  I used a snippet of green plaid paper from my snippets box and also used a snippet of parchment paper to computer generate the sentiment.  I cut the banner shape by hand because I don't have a banner or pennant die. The pearls are Hobby House white pearls coloured with a green Promarker.  Otherwise I left it quite plain.

By the way, does anybody know who stocks Quietfire Design Stamps in the UK?  I bought one  earlier in the year but cannot remember where I got it from.  I'm hoping that one of you stampers out there can help me.  I don't really want to have to go all the way to Canada to get it - well not literally, although I could go and visit Maureen aka Scrappymo! Lol

Hope this finds you all well and finding time to craft.

Fantastic masculinecard. The image of the eagle flying round the mountain is wonderful and so suits the reason you were creatingthis card for.

I hope your young man finds this card encouraging...i know I sure would!

What stamp is it Christine, I don't know what the letters stand for. It would be a very useful image to have, hugs Kate X

Hi Christine,
what a really fab card. Love the image and that super sentiment. Wonderful designing as usual.
Her's hoping the repairs are okay.
We have had a leak in the cavity of the walls between our bungalow and next doors. Now it doesn't come in the bungalow, but it drip ,drips and drives us mad as it is in the bedroom, and you can imagine with this dreadful weather.
I have lost count how many times they have come out to fix it, but it's still not fixed. Now they say when the weather gets better they will take out some of the bricks and have a look at what's going on.
So glad we don't own the bungalow, as it would have cost a fortune for all the times they have been out.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hi Christine,
Oysterstamps used to have some of the Quietfire stamps on their website, but I can't see any on there at the moment. However, if you give them a ring, they sometimes have things in their store that are not online. Their prices are also really good - I always get my Spellbinder from there because they are the cheapest I have found and the people are really nice.x

Fabulous card Christine, just perfect for the reason you made it. We all have mountains to climb at times and I'm sure this will be so appreciated.

Clever idea to have the sentiment on vellum too.

Hugs, Di xx

This is wonderful Christine and so very thoughtful. I love that image as well, you almost feel as if you are there and it is so quiet all you can hear is the eagles wings. Just beautiful.

Now I am back in the zone, I do hope the leak is sorted. We have had really driving rain today plus snow, of course it was so wet the snow didn't settle. I just wish it was a little drier, however when you do need a downpour to check on things like repairs - you can be waiting for ages! Murphy's Law methinks.

Hugs to you both Sue Pxxx

A wonderful card!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure it was a great pick-me-up for the young man. Did you find an outlet for the QF stamps? If not, I'm sure you could email Suzanne (the owner of QF) and she'd let you know who to contact.

One of your prettiest cards, Christine. I love the stamp & all the design elements, but am especially taken with the so very appropriate sentiment! TFS, Hugs & prayers too. Hope the repairs have worked & you don't have any leaks! Good luck with the rains. We have sunshine striking off the snow..still have some ice, but it's melting.
