OSAAT Anything Goes .... With Red, White and Blue

Good afternoon to you all.  Another challenge at One Stitch At A Time . The theme is Anything Goes .. With Red, White and Blue. Our sponsor, as always, is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamp Outlet.  I have used Running Triceratops Dinosaur from the designer Ken Benner which you can find HERE.  This is a real fun image.

My Card

Ingredients
7" square card base from Anne Marie Designs
All card stock from my stash
Argyle Embossing Folder - Embossalicious
Star die cuts - Spellbinders Pierced Stars
Sentiment - Freebie from TLC Creations
Blue star brad - stash
Promarkers to colour

I have had this free digi sentiment from TLC Creations for a while and this image was the ideal one with which to use it.  I just added the coloured stars digitally so that it tied in with the pierced stars in the  rest of the design.  I like the primary colours which is something very different for me.

We would love you to join us this time and here is the prize you could win.

June Prize Pack

Well that's it from today.  I hope you have been having the lovely summer weather that we have had here, but I know it is very different in some parts of the country. A typical British summer I guess.

Take care.

Heartfelt Sympathy

Good morning to all my friends in Blogland and if you arrived here by chance I hope you like what you see.  I would love it if you were to leave a comment and then I can visit you in return.

On Sunday we had some very sad news. John has very little family and he is very close to the two cousins he has.  Sadly his cousin's husband died very suddenly on Saturday.  It has come as such a shock to us all and John is very upset for his cousin and her family.   John asked me to make a nice card for Pauline - as if I would make any other; but I know what he means.

My Card

Ingredients
7 x 5" tentfold card made from ivory pearlescent card
Ivory and taupe pearlescent card - Jellybean Crafts
M-Bossabilities Garden Lattice e/f - Spellbinders
French Collection Auvergne die - Sue Wilson
Wreath Strip - Cheery Lynn
Roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
Cala lilies - very old (ancient!) stash
Ribbon and pearls - stash
Sentiment - computer generated

It took me a long time to decide what I wanted to do because my mind was a complete blank.  However,  I got there in the end.  I really love these French Collection dies from Sue Wilson.  I would love more but it can start to get silly if you're not careful. We end up with so many dies and rarely use many of them.  I'm trying to be a bit more discerning now.

Hope everybody is fit and well.  Take care.

Christmas Card Club # 13 - Pink and White

Good morning; it's  Christmas Card Club again.  These two weeks whizz round so quickly - and it also means we are halfway through the year.  I'm sure I only took my Christmas tree down six weeks ago, not six months .... lol!  Karen is our hostess this time and she asked us to make a card in pink and white, but we could also add a smidgen of silver, gold or black.  I actually managed to keep to pink and white.

My Card

Ingredients
6 x6" card base
raspberry pearlescent cardstock - my stash
Memory Box - Grand Merry Christmas
Marianne Dies - Poinsettia
Cuttlebug - Swiss Dots embossing folder
Spellbinders - Foliage

A CAS card this time - or pretty much CAS..  I just brushed a little burgundy ink over the raised parts of the poinsettias and then sprinkled some Diamond Dust over them.  Doesn't show up well in the picture but in real life they are quite sparkly.

Sorry my blogging and commenting is a bit spotty at the moment but I have a lot going on.  I will be around to visit as soon as I can, I promise.

Crafty Time Mid Month Reminder - Girls! Girls! Girls!

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  I can't believe that I am posting for the third day in a row.  I have said before that my posts are like buses - none for ages then three come all at once .... lol!

Well we are halfway through the month and would just like to remind you that you still have time to add your creations to our challenge, which you can find  here.    There is also a Crafty Time Reminder post which you can find here  - and it features me!!  I am using another image from our sponsor The Fantasy Art of Nikki Burnette.  This time it is Steampunk Telsa.

My Card

Ingredients
6" square card base  - made from Papermania cardstock
DP - had it on my computer for a few years -unknown
Embossing folder - Chronology Collection
Die cut Cogs - Papermania Chronology Collection
Die cut clock - Marianne Craftables
Promarkers and Flexmarkers

I actually digitally changed the colour of my paper so that it would fit the colour I had chosen.  I'm getting quite brave fiddling around with my software! ( Oops! that sounds a bit naughty!)

I'm hoping that today is going to be as glorious as yesterday was - hot and sunny!  I was very careful to use my SPF 50 and wear my hat.  We went out last Thursday and it was the same sort of weather.  I remembered my sun cream - but not my hat!!   Boy, did I suffer later from heat exhaustion.  Poor John didn't quite know what to do with me because I was feeling really pretty poorly - throbbing head, shivery, nausea, the whole works.  I'm so fair skinned that I really suffer from the effects of sun if I'm not careful - and believe me, John would never have made a nurse ... lol!

Well that's all from me today.  Take care.

"For The Boys" - Get Creative Challenge # 17

Good morning everybody.   Challenge 17 is from The Pink Team and our remit is to produce a card "For The Boys". So that's two male cards in a row for me.  Our sponsor this month is Eureka Stamps and   I have chosen Mountain Border for my card and you can find it here.  We would love it if you would join us this time. The prize is three digi images of your choice.

My Card

This quite a busy image and initially I was going to leave it black and white. My second thought was just to add colour to some parts of the image which I think works really well. My third thought was to try something I have been saying I will try but never ever getting round to it. I coloured it digitally using "Microsoft Picture It!" which is the software programme I use.  I had a few false starts before I produced something I was happy with, but it was great because you just discard it and start again.  I will certainly try it again at some stage.

Ingredients
5" x 7" Kraft cardstock base card
Embossing folder - Tartan Trellis from Sue Wilson
The spruce die - Impression Obsessions (no name on it)
Green pearlescent card from stash.
Sentiment - computer generated.

This card is for somebody special who is going through a difficult time - an encouragment card!  I trawled the internet until I found this perfect sentiment.

I hope you are all well.  We had a couple of great summer days - and then back to the cold and wind and rain!  What a start to summer!

Well I must go .  Take care.

OSAAT Challenge # 239 Anything Goes ..... Men

Good day to you all and I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  I love weekends because it is a time when I truly relax.  All housework and shopping done in the week and we never go out on trips etc - save all that for during the week when it is quieter.

The challenge at One Stitch At A Time this time is to make a project for the male of the species.   I used to be filled with horror when it came to making male cards but I'm fine with it now, although I still prefer to make for females as most of us do I think.  My image is "Oh Boy" from My Hearts Pieces and you can find it here.

My Card

Ingredients
6" sqare card from Papermania card stock
DP - "Father Knows Best" from Lili Of The Valley
Blue Sapphire pearlised ard - Brothersleep
Embossing Folder - Seasonal Music Diesire Embossalicious
Virtuoso Music die - Memory Box

It's always nice to add some male cards to my box.

Celebrate In Style

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  Thank you for dropping by today.  If anybody has arrived by chance then I hope you like what you see and leave a comment for me.

My Card

Ingredients
5" x 7" tent fold card made from Papermania cardstock
Aqua pearlescent card from stash
DP - "Promises" from Lili Of The Valley
Die cuts - Heirloom Legacy from Spellbinders
Die cut leaves - Marianne Dies
Sentiment - Grand Sentiments from JustRite Stampers
Silk flowers - very old stash
Ribbon and pearls - from stash

I ended up by covering up most of the DP so I used it inside too together with teh aqua pearlescent card.

I love the Heirloom Legacy Card Creator and I don't use it nearly often enough so I'm hoping to remedy that.  I even have an idea at the back of my mind for a male card - but whether that works out is anybody's guess.  I saw something that gave me the idea on Pinterest but I'm blowed if I can find it again. Watch this space.

We have had a mixed bag of weather these past few days but at least it has been dry which is something.  I just wish it would get warmer - and stay warmer!

Hope this finds you all well.

Take care.

Christmas Card Club - Christmas Scene

Good afternoon to you all.  Time for another card for our little club, and  I'm rather late with my card today I'm afraid.  Kate is our hostess this time and she asked us to show a Christmas scene and she gave us quite a broad scope so we can do an inside or outdoor scene.

My Card

Ingredients
Base card 5" x 7" made from Papermania cardstock
Red and white cardstock - Papermania
Image - from Greeting Card Factory programme
Embossing Folder - Snowflake Lattice - Creative Expressions
Christmas Sentiment - Britannia dies
Ivy corner - Joanna Sheen

This was very quickly put together and it is very flat!  Some glitter (it's a Christmas card after all) and a few pearls and it was done.

Take care everybody and I hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine - at last!!

Potted Flowers

Good morning.  Well this week has been back to winter!  Cold, wet, windy and even some hailstones!  Cold enough that we lit the woodburner - in June .......!!  According to the forecast (oh yeah!) it's supposed to be better today. So fingers crossesd because we are hoping to have a day out today. Certainly yesterday was a vast improvement, but still not June weather!

I have seen quite a few of these plant pots around blogland so I decided to make one too.

My Card

Ingredients
Brown card - Bazzill Basics
Cream card - scraps from my box
Pink patterned card stock - First Edition "Love Letters
Damask embossing folder - Couture Creations
Flowers - Spellbinders Rose Creations die
Argyle embossing folder - Embossalicious from Crafter's Companions
Spellbinders - Classic scalloped ovals
Sentiment on insert - Freebie from TLC Creations
Lace and gems from stash

I added a cardstock stand to the back of the plant pot so that it would stand upright.  I thought it would make a nice get well card but decided to type "Just For You" on the label then it can be used for something else if necessary.

This fits nicely into a 5" x 7" envelope but obviously it could be made smaller or larger. I shall be making some more and try different sizes to see which I prefer.

Well I hope everybody is okay, but hugs to those who need them.
