Good morning and hope everybody is well. Apologies to Jane and the rest of the DT at IAAS - I completely forgot to post this yesterday!!  Oops!

The image started life black and white but I digitally altered it to blue which makes it look very frosty and cold.  I did this earlier this year too and made something similar. All I had to do was then add lashings of glitter and job done.  My plan had been to use this card for the CCC challenge of trees but then I realised it would be perfect for this monochrome challenge .

Trees for Christmas Card Club

Good morning and I hope this finds you well. I had the pleasure of choosing the theme for this challenge and my choice was trees. This could have been Christmas trees, trees in the forest, etc so I'm looking forward to seeing what the other girls in our little club have made.

The brick embossing folder came in a set together with the window die, Christmas tree stamp and another tree stamp. The pine leaves were a separate die set but all from the same range. I bought them early this year when they were on sale but haven't used them until now.  I put a piece of  transparency film behind the die  to make it look glass.  The tree was stamped onto a scrap piece of card stock which I thought looked like wallpaper.

Very simple card made with a glittered Kanban topper which I found in the back of a drawer.  There were four different ones on an A4 sheet.  It's difficult to see on the picture but the angel is holding her hand out to a white dove.

Christmas in July at IAAS

Good morning.  Hope this finds you all well.  At IAAS this month the theme, chosen by Jennie, is Christmas in July.  Where Christmas cards are concerned it's Christmas all year round for me.  I love making them, sends masses of them and so make them continually.

I have had the  Denami Designs rubber stamps  for about 15years but haven't used them for years. It's amazing what we find at the back of drawers.  These are really lovely and I'm sure I'll be using  them again soon.

I cut a piece of blue vellum to cover the card front and wrap around the back so that I didn't have to worry about showing any glue etc.. I stamped the Script stamp in white onto the vellum and heat embossed with Ranger Frosted Crystal embossing powder and attached it to the card front. Onto a narrow strip of the blue vellum I again stamped the Script stamp, this time with Brilliance Pearlescent Ice Blue and heat embossed with the same powder to give a different effect, although the difference is quite subtle. I embossed a piece of white card stock with Crafts Too embossing folder Snowflakes, wrapped the vellum strip round it, matted it onto silver mirri and attached to the centre. The star swirl tree was stamped with the blue ink and the same embossing powder and matted onto silver mirri. It wouldn't be Christmas without a bit of glitter so I added blue glitter to the star, and a bit of bling to the corners. The picture is really bad I'm afraid. It is quite shadowy where the vellum is loose because I only attached it to the back of the card where it overlapped and underneath the snowflake panel. It really does look far better in real life.

I initially just used the glitter card as a mat but when I finished I realised there was a mark on the edge, right in the middle, which I couldn't get rid of.  In the end I decided to make a frame from another piece of the glitter card and add it to the top. Shame I wasted a large piece of glitter card which I had used as the mat.  Why do you never find your error until you have finished? Ah well, that's the way it goes sometimes.

It's very difficult to see the embossing on the red card stock unfortunately.  Anyway another couple for my Christmas stash, which is mounting up nicely.

Christmas/Winter Buildings for Winter Wonderland.

More Stars and Stripes

Good morning.  I hope this finds you  well and enjoying some sunshine.

Jenny is hosting our challenge at MAWTT and she wants to see Star and Stripes.  My last card featuring stars and strips was a masculine card so this time I made it feminine.

My Card

This is a very simple flat card. I made the six inch square base card from Hunkydory Adorable Scorable card stock. I then added a pink and white striped mat from Anna Marie Designs card stock but I din't want it to show as a mat, just peek through the stars. Unfortunately I don't know where the die cut background is from.  I bought a pack of them, pre-cut, from a craft show some years ago and this is the first time I have opened the packet.   The pack also includes the centre star die cut. I just added some pink pearls and a rub on greeting (remember those?) to finish off a simple card.

Use Plaid for 12 Months of Christmas Link Up

Hi.  Well it's time for another challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas. The Sleigh Belles post their creations on the first of the month and then mid month the Merry Maidens will be here with some more inspiration for you.

Backing Paper - Freebie from Decosses's Dynamite 

I added a png. image directly to the green plaid digital paper, copied and pasted it three times and then rotated it so that it formed corner borders all round before colouring with Promarkers.  I printed the images again, fussy cut them and added them with foam pads. Tonic Nuvo Drops and red pearls finished this simple card.

There is an optional twist to the challenge if you would like to follow it, but mainly the idea is somewhere for you to link up all your Christmas cards throughout the year.  The twist for this month's challenge is to use plaid. If you want the chance to win this month's featured paper pack, use PLAID papers prominently in your card design. While you can also use other types of papers for accent pieces, make sure that plaid features in a big way.   Keep in mind though, that you don't need to follow the twist to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month or for a chance to win a $10.00 gift voucher to the Ike's Art store.
