Tags at IAAS

Good morning and apologies to Jane and the rest of the DT at  IAAS.  This card should have been posted yesterday so this is just a very quick post.  The remit is tags.

My Card

Recipe
4" x 6" base card
papers - Vintage Fall by MR Designs
sentiment stamp - Quietfire Designs
butterflies - punch

I folded a piece of 12" x 4" card and trimmed the edges into a tag shape. I added a piece of backing paper to the top, after tearing the edge, to make a pocket for my tag. The tag was stamped with a sentiment from Quietfire Designs. This is for a friend who has just been diagnosed with cancer.

Please pop across to the blog if you would like to see what my teamies have come up with for this challenge.

Well that's all from me today.  Hope you are well and not getting washed away with all this rain.

Icicles for Christmas Card Club

Good morning and I hope you are all well.   Lorraine is our host at the Christmas Card Club and she wants to see icicles. My cards today are very simple because they were pretty last minute.

I've had an extremely busy week for card making. I had three sympathy cards to make for WI.  Our president, Jacqui, lost her mum suddenly earlier in the week.  Lilian was also the post mistress in the village for many years and was still working so she will be a great loss to the village. Jacqui and her sister both work in the shop and, being the business it is, they had to keep it open this week so you can imagine how difficult it has been for them.

I also had two cards to make for one of our members who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her daughter is also one of our members. It has been quite a difficult week all round. As I had a couple of DT cards to make too I have been rather pushed!!

My Cards

Both cards are 6" square and feature images from the Paper Shelter. The first one is "The Most Adorable Snowmen" and the second one is "For Santa". They are both mounted on glitter card from Hobbycraft. The icicle die is by Joy!Crafts. I die cut it from plain card then used Creative Expressions Fluffy Stuff and Papermania glitter to make the icicles really icy.

I'm sorry this is such a short post but I still have a couple more DT cards which are due in the next few days so I think I'd better get cracking! That will be eleven cards in a week!! Phew! I'll show some of them in future posts.

Take care.

Wedding or Anniversary for MAWTT

Good morning.  It's time for a new challenge at MAWTT and there are also some changes.  Wendy, who has been our blog administrator and team leader for the past four years, has decided to step down due to a change in her circumstances. Fortunately for us she will be staying on the design team.

Today's challenge theme was chosen by Caz and she wants to see wedding or anniversary cards.

My Card

Recipe
A5 base card
backing  paper- Craftwork Cards (ancient stash)
Spellbinders dies
ribbon and lace from stash
Wild Orchid Crafts roses
punched leaves

I came across this paper when I was clearing out some boxes.  I always loved this set which was gold embossing on a mixture of dusky pinks, ivory and this one.  Beautiful! There were a few more scraps fortunately so I will make use of them at some stage.

Why not hop on over to the blog and check out the cards from the rest of Team B and maybe you will decide to join us.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Things With Wings at IAAS

Good morning. IAAS have another challenge today and the theme is Things With Wings.  This is my DT card.

Please scroll down to previous post if you are looking for my card for the Christmas Card Club.

My Card

Recipe
A5 base card
Hunkydory toppers and backing card "Feathered Friends"

Unusually for me I have made an A5 card and cut the front back by half.  here. Since I came across a load of Hunkydory packs a few weeks ago I have decided to use some of them. I used three of the toppers here.  It's amazing how much stash you accumulate - and then misplace .... lol! I must have had these years.

Why not go across to the blog and check out the cards from my teamies?  Perhaps you will decide to join in the challenge.  We would love to see you.

I hope you are having a good weekend.

 Take care.

Oh Deer - Anything Goes at Christmas Card Club

Good morning, time for another challenge with my Christmas Card Club friends. Actually I'm a day early because the post is not due until Sunday. We have a very simple theme this time which is Anything Goes.  However, since I missed Rachel's challenge in June when her choice was Reindeer I decided to take the opportunity to catch up on that and so have used deer on my cards today.

Card # 1

Card # 2

These two cards were made with die cuts from a book of die cuts that I bought from The Works and which cost only £3.  They are ideal if you want to make cards in a hurry or have a lot to make.  The book contains twelve pages of diecuts, with a great many diecuts on each page, to make twelve cards.  I didn't actually use all the die cuts on each page. All I added was the kraft base card and a matting layer. So for 36 pence per card, plus the base card and foam squares, I deem that great value for money.  I have since added glitter to the first card.

Card # 3
 Recipe
6" square white base card
backing paper - Let It Snow paper pad Hobbycraft
star die -John Next Door
stag die - Precious Marieke
sentiment die - Sue Wilson

This backing paper is so pretty that the card really made it self.  I used the star from JND Sam's Starz together with the sentiment die and stag with  baubles die. If you look closely at the paper you will see white deer hiding away in the bottom corners.  The glitter is not easy to see but in real life it is very pretty.

Well that's all from me today.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Use Kraft at 12 Months of Christmas

Good morning and it is time again for another challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.

Our sponsor this time is Patti's Creations and the winning prize, if you followed the twist, is three digi images from her Etsy store.  You also have chance to win something just from entering the challenge so don't hang around.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
kraft card - Hobbycraft
red and green striped paper - Decosse's Dynamite
sentiment on globe - computer generated
sentiment die  - Sue Wilson
icicle die - Joy!Crafts
Promarkers to colour
red shimmer gems - Hobbycraft

Although there is an optional twist to the challenge if you would like to follow it,  mainly the idea is somewhere for you to link up all your Christmas cards throughout the year. The  twist  this time is to use kraft card/paper on your card.  The Sleigh Belles are showing their cards now and mid month you will find more inspiration from the Merry Maidens so you should check back then.

Why not go over to the blog and see the cards from the other Sleigh Belles.  This is a good chance to get ahead with your Christmas cards because the year is simply flying by now!

Take care.

Layer it Up at IAAS

Good morning.  It was my turn to choose the theme for this challenge and I asked to see lots of layers on the cards.   I love to do this. I know it's a bit of a nightmare for those who like nothing more than a CAS card but that's what a challenge is all about isn't it?

If you are looking for my card for the Christmas Card Club  please scroll down to previous post.

My Card

 pocket

insert

Recipe
6 " square base
papers - First Edition "Love Letters"
topper - "Spring Bringer" from Wee Stamps
roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
leaf sprays - Britannia
standard and lacy circle dies - Spellbinders
sentiment stamp -  Quietfire Designs
lace, ribbon and pearls from stash

It's a few years since I made one of these cards so I quite enjoyed it. I used A3 card stock to form the base pocket and then cut the sides diagonally.  I didn't think until I had finished it and taken the photographs that I should have added a stand at the back.  I have  card stand die from John Next Door which is ideal for this so I shall go ahead and do that now.

We are a Just For Fun challenge blog but why not pop across and see the creations from my teamies? We do have banners for the winners so take a look and maybe you will be inspired to join in?

I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Take care.
