Blue is the Colour for IAAS

Good morning.  A new challenge will be posted today at IAAS and this time it is to make blue the main colour on your card or project.

My Card

This is very quick and simple card.  I made a 6" x 4" base card from navy blue Jelly Bean Crafts card stock.  I have misplaced the packaging of the die so when I come across it I will add the name. The card just made itself.  I used a sentiment die from Sue Wilson and mounted it onto navy card stock to make sure it stood out against the busy background and then just added some gems.  Job done.  It's one of those handy cards to keep in your stash I think.

Why not pop over to the blog and see what my team mates have made?

Take care and enjoy your day.  It is sunny here at the moment but we had heavy rain earlier this morning.

Sentiment as the Focus at Christmas Card Club

Good morning. Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of weeks.  I have been really busy doing things for our WI ladies.  Since we can't meet up at all, as a committee we are trying to do things for them, so as well as keeping in touch by phone, email, newsletters etc every month when it should be our meeting we make sure we give them something.  This month I have just made and laminated fifty six bookmarks and matching greeting cards.  I also do something for our eight vulnerable ladies on a fortnightly basis. It makes it a very busy time for me but everybody is so appreciative  that it makes the hard work worthwhile.  Since I make everything two other committee ladies then have the task of distributing them on their daily walks around the village and two other nearby villages where we also have members.  I live in a third village - but I don't receive anything ... lol!

I am a day early with my card for our little Christmas club.  The other girls will be posting tomorrow but I have a DT card to post then. It was my turn to choose the theme and as you see I have gone for no image and make the sentiment the focus of the card.  This is my favourite thing to do with cards.

Card # 2

Ice Crystal Frame die - Amy Design

I have been trying to use some of my old dies and embossing folders that haven't seen the light of day for far too long yet are so lovely. The backing paper is one I have used quite often and each time I digitally alter the colour which means I can change the look so easily.

We had a bad storm on Wednesday night  and then it rained the entire day on Thursday so the wells and water butts are all well and truly filled up.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Under The Sea at IAAS

Good  morning.  I'm back again with my DT card for IAAS. I thought I was going to have to miss this challenge because I don't have anything at all in my stash that could possibly fit the theme.  On Tuesday I was looking for something - not a craft item and not a craft cupboard - when I came upon a magazine still sealed in it's polythene wrapper.  A very odd place to find it and also odd that it was unopened. The "free gift" included, believe it or not, was a set of stamps, papers and a narrow embossing folder called Mermaid Wishes. How weird.  I checked the date of the magazine and it was July 2017 which I obviously bought at the end of June; puzzle solved because that was the exact time my sister died so suddenly and I was all over the place for a very long time. The other strange thing is that the day I found it was my sister's birthday, June 2nd, so I think Jeanie must have been guiding me to that place.

Sorry for the long ramble but here is my card made from the set.

My Card

Everything on my 6" square card was from the set. I stamped the shells onto coloured card stock and fussy cut them before moulding them and mounting with foam pads. I used Promarkers to colour plus gel pens on her tail which sparkles in real life. I also added some glitter to her hair.

This certainly isn't something I would normally make but I must admit I like it.  A great find.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out the cards from my teamies?

Take care and enjoy the rest of weekend.

Snowflakes for the Christmas Card Club.

Good morning.  It's time for another challenge at our little club which is not actually due until Sunday but I have another DT card to post then.

This time the theme was chosen by Gwen  and she wants to see snowflakes on our cards.  I actually have cards to show for two challenges today because I was so busy I was unable to make a card for Rachel's "Humour" challenge last time. I'm sorry for being so late Rachel but is here now.

Card 1

For those of you who love the sun I'm sorry the weather has broken - but for my part I really welcomed the rain.  The gardens needed it and it has filled two of my five water butts.  Still need a lot more but hopefully it will rain overnight instead then we will all be happy.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you plan to do.

Good morning.  Today we have a new challenge starting at Winter Wonderland.

Before I talk about the challenge I just wanted to say that sadly two of our DT will be leaving us this month so we have places available on our Design Team.  If you love making Christmas cards and are interested then please pop across to the blog to check out the details.

Okay, now to this month's challenge  the theme for which has been chosen by Michelle. We want to see Christmas Decorations on your card. I have used Christmas lights - the best decorations ... lol! Our sponsor is Beccy's Place.

Things with Wings at MAWTT

Good morning and welcome. I hope you are all enjoying the fine weather.  I have been leaving my daily walk until the evening because it has just been too hot to set a good pace and I don't like gentle strolling unless there is a reason for that.  If I'm exercising I need to set a decent pace to raise my heart rate. I've actually lost 10 pounds so I will come out of lock down fitter than I went in.

I haven't been blogging much at all because I have been so busy making cards and little gifts for our WI members since we are unable to meet. I have just completed 50 cards and gift bags which I will show in a couple of days. It was quite a marathon. Next month will be easier because I have decided to just make a bookmark for them all.

We have a new challenge at MAWTT and that is to show Things with Wings. There is quite a wide choice there but I decided to go with a bird.

My Card

blue pearlescent card from stash

Pierced Noble Squares - Sue Wilson

I am making a handful of cards for my sister so that she will have a few in hand. Two of her friends have died recently and others are struggling and she is not able to go and search out nice cards.  The local newsagent is the only place she can get to presently and that is obviously quite limited.  I have made it flat for posting so she does not have to pay extra postage.  One I have two or three ready I'll post then off to her because she is in Co Durham.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out what my team mates have come up with for thois challenge?

Anyway,  that's it for me today. Take care.
