Sunflower - clean and simple

Hi there blog friends!

The colours of this card looks so springlike it should have a daffodil instead of a sunflower - except that I don't have a daffodil stamp!!

The sunflower stamp is from Papermania and coloured with promarkers. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.  I wrapped the ribbon round the punched centre strip but it is barely visible. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. I decided not to add too many embellishments, but to follow the freshness of the papers and keep it clean and simple.

Well this week has been very busy but hopefully things will ease off next week and I can settle down to do something a bit more challenging. But no matter how simple, it is always nice to do some crafting.

If you have anything  planned for the bank holiday I hope you enjoy them - and let's hope the weather is okay where you are. Dream on eh? Fine bank holiday weekend?  Who am I  trying to kid.  It is pouring down here in Oxfordshire.

Have a good day.

Love from Christine xx

  1. Hi Christine - just to say that it has been tiddling down here in Nottingham ...... and the sun was out as well! Talk about topsy turvey.

Just wanted to say thanks for the comments left on my blog - they are appreciated. I love the poppy Twinchie as well!!!

Now for your card - you are so right you know - this is such a clean, pretty card that it doesn't need too much adding to it. I love your sunflower stamp - and the way you have coloured it!!! The ribbon and pearls are just enough. Brilliant.

Hugs Sue P xxxx Enjoy the BH weekend.

  2. We've had storms on and off all day. A real doozy about one, with a clap of thunder that made even me (a confirmed storm lover) jump out of my skin lol. It's a very pretty card, love the colours and the simplicity shows off your lovely colouring. Hugs lin

  3. Hi Christine,
Like Linda W. here in S.Wales we have had Really noisy thunder, short burst of heavy rain and then glorious sunshine. What a confused day!
I love the freshness of your card though the colours didn't show well on my phone so had to blow it up to see it clearly. Agree with you about the embellies, it doesnt need more. That is a very pretty border you have used.
    Big hugs Linda xx

  5. Hi Christine,
we too have had similar weather here in Kent. The only thing different was we didn't get the thunder, thank goodness.
Your card today is fresh, clean and very pretty. Love those colours too. Your sunflower is amazing. We have been most of the day moving the house around. Thought it needed a change. Have a great crafty rest of the B/H weekend.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
