After my marathon Christmas card session the other week I have finally decided it was time to make another one. I love Mo Manning's stamps and this one is great. I bought some toppers last year and there was one of this image which I loved so I got the stamp. On the topper the hats were red so I did the same on my stamped image but I'm not really sure about it now. Maybe a different shade might be better.
The size is 6 x 6 and the background paper is a freebie from Jak Heath. The doily is French Pastry by Cheery Lynn - thank you Patricia for reminding me to use this die again! The snowflakes are Marianne dies - Swedish Snowflakes - and the pearls and ribbon to make the double bow are from my stash.
Anyway, a nice easy peasy card today.
The sun looks to be shining again (even though it is flipping cold!!) so enjoy your Sunday!
Love from Christine xx

Fabulous card. Your colouring is marvellous and so are your colours. I like the red hats - after all they are always red.

Hi Christine,
ReplyDeletePatricia was right the hats look great in red. If you think of children at Christmas time they wear these colour hats with other colour clothing. Wonderful colouring in too. The whole card is just fantastic. I've not heard of Mo Manning. Where have I been. lol.
Have a wonderful crafty Sunday.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Morning Christine,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Patricia that the red hats make Christmas. I just adore your gentle colours and your cards always look very professional and beautiful. Not heard of Mo Manning either how sad am I.
Hope you and John have an enjoyable Sunday, love Christine H xx

My Goodness Christine you live in the same kind of village as we do. A pub and that`s your lot, no buses either. Unfortunately we have a very sparse playpark. When the boys were small John went to council to get a baby swing installed, that gave them a swing each. Now the boys are older they have to wait their turn to use the one and only "Big Boy" swing.

We are obviously better off than you!! We have a bus once a week - takes nearly 30 minutes to get to town and gives you less than 2 hours before the return trip. And since we live more than a mile out of the village ....... But I still wouldn't live anywhere else! Christine x
DeleteLovely card Christine and those snowflakes are beautiful!x
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card!! I love the mo manning stamps too and I adore that doily you've used. The colours and style are just fab. Thank you for your comments on my blog. Very much appreciated xxxx
ReplyDeleteChristine this is lovely. Beautifully coloured and well laid out. I too love the red hats but I know what you mean when you wuedtioned it, I do that so often. One tip I can give you is if it feels off balanced by the different colour just add a little bit of that colour somewhere else to balance it out. Eg on here you could perhaps just add three little red gems around the edge of the doily. Use the same colour marker as you used for the hats to colour your gems. But it doesn't need it if you can get used to it, its so sweet.

Quick thinking Batman! Now why didn't I think of that? I'll swap the lavender pearls for red ones and balance it out. Thanks Linda.
