CCC Challenge - Use Kraft

Good morning friends.

Two weeks ago when I was making my CCC challenge card it was snowing, and here we are again  in even worse conditions I think - at least in this part of the country.

Now this certainly was a challenge for me! I have never used Kraft card, although I did buy a pack some time ago so at least it has come in useful.  I must confess that this is certainly not something that I will be leaping to use again in a hurry. It really isn't my thing I'm afraid. But hey, that's what challenges are all about aren't they,  pushing you out of your comfort zone? Well it worked, because I am definitely out my particular comfort zone! I'm not happy with my card. I think I've settled for something very boring, but I just couldn't think of what else to do. I am going to make second card just to see if I am any happier with that!

My Card

I embossed the Christmas Tree with the Cuttlebug embossing folder onto Kraft cardstock and mounted it onto red and Kraft card. The red pearls and red bow are from my stash. It all seems rather dull, sorry. It was almost impossible to get a decent picture too, so that doesn't help!

Well, enjoy your Sunday. If I manage to make another card I'll pop back with another post.

  1. Hi Christine, I'm not a big fan of Kraft card either except for layering but I think this is very pretty. Love that embossed Christmas Tree with the pearls (I have to have pearls :-))

  3. Good Morning Christine,
Love it, not boring at all.
Simple, very elegant and rather effective.

That`s the tree I used on my cards this year. Is is so effective you really do not need much. Quickest I made my cards in years.
    Have a Great Day
Hope you manage to get out. We HAVE to get out to stock up on "fresh" fruit & veg

  4. Hiya Christine, well I know what you mean about Kraft card, I've never used it like you have, only for matting and the odd backing for a sentiment but your card isn't awful, it's just different from what you usually do and you know what they say, we are our own worst critics lol.
I finally managed to suss out the Bloglovin thing too ha ha.
    Cheers,
    Elaine

  7. I think it is a beautiful card Christine. Like you I also bought Kraft card and so far I have only used it once - every time I take it out and think I will use it - then I put it away again. I think this is a very elegant card.

  8. Christine, what a LOVELY card! It looks so simple, but that is just why it is so beautiful!
No snow over here, but an icecold stormwind is blowing our breath away. It feels like minus 15 ° C. All people are complaining over here...
Dutch TV was showing the horrible winterweather with 'mountains' of snow in the Midlands and Northern England yesterday. It's like Siberia, and it's nearly April..
Well, it wil be gone when were coming to England in May-June (I hope).
Have a crafty and nice sunday!

  20. I agree with Mo. It's actually beautiful. I've got the same problem with kraft. It's great when someone else does it but a disaster for me. Sure rings true here - your's is great!
