Animals at Winter Wonderland

Good morning and hope this finds you all well.  Having had two beautiful, warm, sunny days on Sunday and Monday, when I actually got out into the garden, it's now back to rain, more rain and hail stones. The vagaries of the British weather.

Well it's time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and it's the Snowflakes Team's turn to make cards showing animals, which was the choice of  Jackie.

Our sponsor is Pink Gem Designs and the prize on offer is  two single digi images or two card topper kits of the winner's choice.  Please cross over to the blog and see what the other Snowflakes have created and then why not join in the challenge?  Remember it is Christmas cards only but it is never too early to make a start on your Christmas cards.  And the rate this year is disappearing it will be here before we know it.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - Rymans
Image - Jingle Bells Penguins from Pink Gem
DSP - Frosty Christmas LOTV - discontinued
blue backing card - Limetree Craft
snowflakes - The Works
Sentiment - computer generated

This is actually a card topper kit but I just took the image and cropped it to make a topper and added the sentiment. A very simple flat card - very necessary since the postage costs have shot up once again!!

Well that's all from me today.

Take care and have a lovely Easter weekend.

Do You Believe in Fairies?

(I made the A4 poster using digi stamps Pallaria Fairy which I got from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps, which is no longer in business.)

Good morning and I hope this finds you all well.

Every year Tysoe WI do something in the village to surprise and entertain the children and residents. The last two years we yarn bombed but this year we "fairy bombed!"  Our Craft and Laugh group have been very industrious as you will see from the following pictures - and I forewarn you that this post is picture heavy. Under cover of darkness last night we were out with our ladders and head torches transforming the area opposite the Post Office.

I could bore you with more but I think you have probably got the idea. The photos don't really do it justice, but isn't that always the case? There are lots of little (and some not so little) fairies "flying " from the branches of the tree in which we put fairy lights. In the dark last night it really did look magical and the lights are on a timer so it will look great over the next couple of weeks.  We usually leave it up until after Easter.

I only wish I could have been one of those fairies to see the kids as they pass on the way to school.

Hope you have enjoyed our wee fairy folk.  Who said the WI were staid and boring?  They obviously don't belong to the Tysoe group!!!

Take care.

Christmas Flowers For CCC

Good morning.  First of all apologies to Rachel for being a day late with my card and thanks for a lovely challenge.  I chose poinsettias because the red ones really seem to symbolise Christimas.

Well I'm hopeful the snow will be gone again soon.  Fortunately it's not as bad as last time but once again the high winds are making it drift so John has been out with his snow shovel digging out the car and around the gates where the drift is making it impossible to open them. I need to get out today because I broke off part of a filling and so need to get to the  dentist. Ugh!

Two nice flat cards making them easy to post.

A very quick post today.  Hope you are all well.

Take care and keep warm.

Humour for IAAS

Good morning and welcome to a beautiful winter wonderland - again!  Oh boy I could do without this. I should have been going out with the WI today. As luck would have it I had to cancel a couple of days ago but I still wouldn't have been able to go because we can't get out due to the snow! And the roads would be treacherous around here so just as well I'm not travelling.

My Card

 Insert

Our challenge at IAAS this time is to add some humour to your card. This is a simple card but makes me smile. I took the image from  Greeting Card Factory De Luxe and used the same image for the insert just faded it out. The trees are Frosted Pine and Frosted Spruce from Memory Box. I wanted to keep the background simple but didn't like the stark white card so I used my scoreboard to add lines making it stripey.

Why not pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the team have produced and consider joining in the challenge?  We are a Just For Fun challenge so no prizes I'm afraid but blogging is for fun anyway isn't it?

If you have snow then take care and keep warm. Don't go out unless you need to is what I say.  An ideal opportunity to craft!

Take care.

Happy Easter at MAWTT

Good morning.   Well haven't we had a mixed bag of weather of late? We went to Evesham yesterday and the River Avon had burst it's banks. It was quite a sight to see the picnic tables and the benches all in the water and the ducks and Canada geese swimming almost at street level.

Time for another challenge at MAWTT.  Carole is hosting this challenge and she wants to see your Easter creations.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
lemon backing paper - Limetree Crafts
patterned cardstock - "Spring Drop" First Edition
image - Pink Gem
Austrian Collection (Salzburg) dies -Creative Expressions
purple card - Crafters Companion

Such a sweet image of this little bunny with his Easter egg. I used these dies because they seemed to resemble Easter eggs and fit the theme so well. I don't generally make Easter cards but this year I have made three for some reason.

Please pop over to the blog and check out what the rest of the DT have produced and hopefully you will decide to join us.

Take care.

Star of Wonder

Good morning. This is my DT card for Winter Wonderland and I am very late I'm afraid but I got there in the end.  The theme is "Stitching - Real or Faux" as chosen by Pat K.  Our sponsor is

Why not pop over to the blog and check the rest of the DT's creations.  The prize on offer is three digi stamps of your choice so it is certainly worth joining in the challenge but please remember it is Christmas cards only.

Thankfully the snow is well on the way to being gone. I was a bit concerned when it started snowing again yesterday but it didn't last too long fortunately.

Take care.

Robins for Christmas Card Club.

Sorry - I have only just checked my blog and realised it hadn't posted! I can tell you however that the temperature has risen a wee bit and apparently out on the roads it is starting to snow - so my friend in the village said. Not here just yet but we are much higher so we can expect that.

Good morning.  Well, since I am scheduling this post I don't actually know what kind of day it is. We are still well and truly snowed in and this (Saturday) is day 3+. We actually have been snowed in since mid afternoon on Wednesday.  We would have been stuck anyway because there is a great deal of snow but the high winds have created incredible drifts. This morning John and I decided to walk to the next village because we were beginning to feel a bit stir crazy and John wanted a newspaper. Now the three miles there is okay because it is downhill,  We used our trekking poles and I still managed to fall three times! Not hurt, I hasten to add.  Coming back was a different story - uphill and a long, steep one at that. And the papers hadn't been delivered to village shop anyway ... lol!  However I do wish I had remembered to take my camera because the huge snowdrifts were beautiful.  Such gorgeous shapes.

My Card

I loved this cheery little image and so I decided to make a set of six - obviously not all here because I can actually count. They are 4 inches square and flat for posting So all good.

I do hope that if you have very bad weather you are coping with it. The forecast says that the temperature is due to rise here to plus instead of minus so that's a bonus!!

Take care and keep warm.
