Good morning. Well, since I am scheduling this post I don't actually know what kind of day it is. We are still well and truly snowed in and this (Saturday) is day 3+. We actually have been snowed in since mid afternoon on Wednesday. We would have been stuck anyway because there is a great deal of snow but the high winds have created incredible drifts. This morning John and I decided to walk to the next village because we were beginning to feel a bit stir crazy and John wanted a newspaper. Now the three miles there is okay because it is downhill, We used our trekking poles and I still managed to fall three times! Not hurt, I hasten to add. Coming back was a different story - uphill and a long, steep one at that. And the papers hadn't been delivered to village shop anyway ... lol! However I do wish I had remembered to take my camera because the huge snowdrifts were beautiful. Such gorgeous shapes.
We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery, guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate. The world is all gates, all opportunities. Ralph Waldo Emerson

ReplyDeleteIt has been raining here all morning and the snow...all 8inches of it has almost gone...first day we have been able to get out....wheeee.....lots of crafting mind you but too much temptation watching craft tv! Xxxx
Hi your cards are stunning those robins are so cute. I do hope that the snow is starting to recede where you are. It has all but gone here. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteSweet image and great little cards. I love that they will go for regular postage as it is so high now.
ReplyDeleteSounds like quite the outing you had and then were not even able to get the paper! Ours is pretty well melted now but we have predictions for more in a couple of days.
Hope yours melts soon.
Your robin is so cute Christine.
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to see pics of the snow, xxx
Love the Robin image Christine, just so much fun, unlike the weather, we have been lucky this time around, but not so other folks, you take care, Kate x
ReplyDeleteThis is an adorable little "Santa" Robin! I love the way you've kept the presentation simple to let his cheekiness just shine! Also liked the piercing on the top layer mat. Your walk sounds like such an adventure and glad no damage from the falls. Hope the weather eases up some for you all real soon! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh he is indeed a happy a little chappie. We ventured out to the shops for the first time yesterday and managed to get more supplies in. We had the same problem with the snow drifts. The neighbours opposite had hardly any snow on their pathways and garden it was all in ours!! Lol. Whilst The Doc was busy shovelling snow to clear a pathway they were merely brushing the snow away with a broom and wondering what all the fuss was about. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteLovely cute cards Christine! Sounds like you really have suffered with the snow. Nothing much here at all but it has been bitterly cold! Big hugs Rachel x

ReplyDeleteTerrific set of jolly little robins.
We had a couple of snowy days and freezing cold days but not as bad as yours sounds.
Hope you are de-snowed now.
