Trees for the Christmas Card Club

Good morning. Kate has chosen our theme this time and she has given us quite a wide brief. She wants to see trees, Christmas trees or trees in a scene.

 Card # 1

This is using an image I have had for years but not used for a long time. I just added  a little colour to give it a pop and lots of glitter. I mounted it onto silver mirri which sadly looks black in the picture but I wasn't able to get a better picture. I computer generated the sentiment and just added a couple of snowflakes but otherwise left it pretty simple.

Card # 2

This is an upcycled Christmas card from last year but it was so pretty I decided to use it.  I cut it down to fit a 4" x 6" gold glitter card. It is not showing well but the trees at the front are gold and very pretty. I bought a pack of both silver and gold glitter cards last year very cheaply but never used them until now.

The other ladies will be displaying their cards tomorrow.

Here in England  from Monday we are all looking forward to meeting up with other people after three months, even though it is just outside. We are planning to have our first WI committee meeting for twelve months on Monday afternoon.  We will probably be wearing our thermals since we will be in the garden - just praying that it doesn't rain. 😉😂

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

  2. Hi Christine, it's been a long time since I have visited your blog. I hope you are doing well!
I like this card a lot: and the red is really popping out the scene.
Over here, we still have to wait for vaccination, but I hope this will happen halfway of April, and I am looking forward to it.
We are staying inside as much as we can and are longing for going out like we did once before!
    Stay safe,
    Lia xx

  7. Morning Christine. Two beautiful cards. Sounds as if things at your end are getting back to normal. No signs of our WI opening up again so far. Next week however Hairdressers are opening up again, and two families can meet in the garden. So looking forward to some family visits. Keep Safe. Hugs Rita xxx

  10. Two fab cards and I agree would be a shame to ditch such a lovely card and not upcycle it. Good that we are beginning to have hope for WI meetings and venturing out. Onwards and upwards for all let's hope. Zoe x

  11. Beautiful cards, Christine. Both scenes are perfect. I'm just amazed at the lengths we are prepared to go to for a bit of near normal interaction. Hoping for a dry day for you all. Hugs, Elizabeth xx
