A Little Bird

Good morning friends and fellow bloggers.  Thanks for your visit today.   I would love you to leave a comment so that I know you have been.  Hope everybody is fit and well and raring to go!

My Card

This card is for my nephew's wife and her birthday is in a few days time.   I have kept it fairly flat because I was giving it to the postman when he called.  It saves me making a journey to the post office, but obviously I need to know exactly what postage to put on it and so it was easier to have a flat card.

My usual 6" x 6" card base made from A3 card.  I prefer to make my own card base because I find the bought ones are just not heavy enough.  Ideal at Christmas though. The papers are LOTV Petal Fresh and matted onto blue pearlescent card from my snippets box.  The topper is from Little Claire Designs.  I was going to mount it onto a fancy SB die but then decided that I actually like the clean geometric lines with just a few pearly embellishments.  Makes it look quite fresh - just as the papers say! It does what it says on the tin - to quote the old advert!  The piece of organza ribbon was another snippet too.

Well that's it from me.

Hope you all have a good day and manage to fit in some crafting.

  1. Hi Christine, this is a really lovely card - your design is fabulous and I'm sure your nephew will love it! Wow, your postman will take mail? I wish ours did, they've just shut off our closest post box! At my cousin's in California that actually have a mailbox for 'in' and 'out' for the postie to collect, love it! Hugs Carole Z X

  21. Hi Christine
Lovely card. Great design and tones of blue. Spellbinders not always required for a great card (can't believe I just said that lol!).
Think you have an obliging postie in rural spots. Ours is a nice guy but don't think he would take post from us.
    Have a great day.

  26. It is lovely and fresh Christine, CAS almost. I'm so glad what you said about the card stock - I thought it was just me. Card seems to be a lot thinner these days, I got myself some card blanks from Hobbycraft which I thought would be ideal because they are 250gsm. They are no good for my family cards - they would all moan I was doing it on the cheap! So I will keep them for Xmas and cut and score my own from now on xx
