Hi to you all on this rather unpleasant day. We have just had a very pleasant weekend with a visit from John's cousins. I will try and get around to visit your blogs soon.
This card has been either recycled or upcycled - I don't know what the difference is! Lol! It was originally a chocolate bar wrapper from my lovely friend Sue P, aka
PlanetSusie, which she had decorated making a fairly simple, but yummy gift, much more special.
My Card
Not a very good picture for some reason - the lower part looks blurred.
I thought it was so nice that I just had to reuse it and so I made it into a card. All I had to do was add some co-ordinating green pearlescent paper for matting and stamped a sentiment in the corner. Voila! Job done! I'm sure you can understand why I felt this deserved better than just being stuffed into a drawer.
The flowers are SB Die D-Lites Blooms 3 and 4 and the leaves are Die D-Lites Corner Sprigs. I think they are so pretty. I don't have any of these dies but they may well find themselves on my wish list now! The sentiment is JustRite Grand Sentiments.
Well that's it for today. Hope everybody is feeling well.
Prachtige kaart Christine, mooie kleuren heb je gebruikt.

I think up cycling is the yuppie posh version of reclying. Works for me either way just so long as I'm not actually on my bike that is!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the chocolate wrapper design and yes it deserves a second (or is it third does being a cholickit wrapper count as the 1st ?!) airing. Looks fab on your card. hugs Mrs A.
p.s. Thank you for following. Hopefully blogger has got itself sorted out now as another problem I had of not seeing my readers list has resolved itself as well.
ReplyDeleteFingers and toes crossed!
hugs Mrs A.
This is a super use of a recycle object, and how wonderful to get the chance to enjoy it all over again. The pretty dp added with the lovely flowers, turned it into a beautiful card - to be enjoyed by another recipient. That's what I call recycling! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi there Christine - this looks lovely with your added sentiment . I will never know why I hadn't used these papers before 'cos I looked through the huuuuuge pad of them and they are quite gorgeous. Love how you have used the green pearlescent paper underneath - looks great. What I would call wonderful re-upcycling.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you both and I hope the weather is better for roofworks!

ReplyDeleteSorry I'm sooo behind.
Great idea for re-using the choccie wrapper. I've just put mine on the shelf as I didn't want to bin it so must follow your example.
Beautiful papers aren't they?
Best wishes.
