A Greek Window

Good morning.  I'm sorry that I have been missing all week but we booked a very last minute holiday and went up to Scotland.  We were so lucky and had glorious weather!  I packed lots of clothes for warm weather and wet weather but I did throw in a few teeshirts thankfully.  I never wore a cardigan or sweater the entire week.  We were in a fabulous cottage, with beautiful gardens, on the shores of Loch Ryan so it wouldn't have been a hardship to stay "at home" if the weather was bad. Luckily that was not the case.   I also managed to meet up with a friend who lives near Ayr,  We have known each other for about 35 years and rarely meet but when we do, my goodness you would think we had never been apart!!  John and Jim couldn't get a word in! A great afternoon and evening!

Anyway, my post today is my DT card for the  OSAAT  challenge "Layer It Up"  Now this is a really simple challenge so I'm sure many of you could add a card to it.

My Card

Recipe
7" base card from Anne Marie Designs
pink striped card stock - "Victorian Roses" from The Works
image - "Greek Window" by Ikes Art
corner die - "Austrian Collection" Sue Wilson
Promarkers to colour
pearls - ancient stash

Eventually my card came together well, but I must admit I was struggling initially and realised that rushing to get it done before I went away wasn't working and decided that I would have to give this challenge a miss.  I tried again the next day and I guess because the pressure was gone it came together okay and I like the result. These card stacks fromThe Works are great value at £4 for  a 12 inch card stock.  In fact some are even £3. The dark pink mat behind the image is the reverse of the striped card.

Please pop over to the blog and see what my teamies have come up with.  If you decide to enter you could win $10 to spend in store.

Well that's it from me today.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you are doing - hopefully something nice!

  4. Lucky you to get to spend time in Scotland, and it sounds perfectly beautiful. Glad the weather was cooperative for you to enjoy outside as well. And additionally enjoying good times with old friends. What a wonderful vacation you must have had! Love your card - a lovely window scene with the pretty pot of flowers. A pleasing design layout, and the filigree corner against the stripe paper...icing on the cake! TFS & Hugs
