Silver or Gold for Winter Wonderland

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers. Today the challenge at Winter Wonderland is to "use some silver or gold" on your card.  However, we now have two themes each week and the alternate theme is "use an embossed background"  so you can choose either theme, or maybe be adventurous and combine the two.  Since this is our last challenge before having a summer break both the Snowflakes and Icicles are taking  part so if you hop across to the blog you will find lots of inspiration.   We will back on August 26th with another challenge. Don't forget that we  accept only Christmas projects.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
silver mirri - Docrafts
backing paper - "Snowboarder" from The Paper Shelter
Image  "Wintergreen Wishes" - Crafts and Me
icicle die - JoyCrafts!
Pierced Noble Rectangle dies - Creative Expressions
Sentiment die - Britannia Dies
Promarkers to colour

Mirri card is so difficult to photograph! The icicle die was diecut from silver glitter card and I added lots of glitter to the trees and the fur trim.  I'm sure I read somewhere that it is illegal to make Christmas cards without using glitter, and since I'm such a law abiding person I have definitely complied ... lol!

We are sponsored this week by A Day For Daisies who are offering a $12 gift card for use in their store.

Our second sponsor is Crafts And Me who are offering £8 to spend instore.

Well this weekend is almost upon us and I do hope you have a great one.  Take care.

Use Of Dies for OSAAT

Good day to you all and hope you are enjoying this lovely weather.  Unfortunately according to the weather forecast it won't last.  I must admit I will be pleased if it is a little cooler because I struggle with the heat and find it difficult to sleep.

Please scroll down to the previous post if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club entry.

I think the hot weather must have addled my brain because I made my project for this challenge using the wrong theme - I was looking at next time's challenge!  I didn't realise until I went to add my creation to the OSATT file - horror of horrors!!!!!  The bonus is that I am ready for the next one - the bad part was having to get a card ready in a rush!   Luckily the theme was to use dies, and in the image pack I had chosen was a pre-coloured one so I managed to get it done.  Because I did it in a rush I decided to leave off a sentiment till I knew what it would be for.  I think I will probably add a bow too.

Please hop over to the blog and check out what the rest of the DT have come up and maybe you will be inspired to join in the challenge and perhaps win the prize.

Take carde and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Traditional Colours for the Christmas Card Club

Good morning. Well these two weeks have gone by again and this time it is my turn to choose the theme for our little group.  I decided on Traditional Colours because if given the choice I generally go for non-trad, yet whenever I use reds and greens I always think how festive they look.  This is not due until Sunday but as you know I post a day early because I have another DT card to post on Sunday.  I don't blog frequently enough to post two on the same day!

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
red and white card stock - Hobbycraft
tartan backing paper - Dovecraft "Twelve Days of Christmas"
Image - Lili of the Valley "Festive Foliage" art pad
Holly corner die - Cheery Lyn
Sentiment - computer generated.

Please check back tomorrow and see what my CCC pals have come up with.  You will find their blog addresses in my right side bar.

Hope you are all enjoying the weather.  Yesterday was a wee bit cooler thankfully, although still hot, but it made me a bit happier.  Although I still left going out to cut the grass until qute late in the evening.

Well that's it from me for today.  Take care.

Mr & Mrs

Good morning, and another beautiful one too. Today I am showing one of the wedding cards I have made.

My Card

Recipe
7" square card - Anna Marie Designs
lilac card stock - Hobbycraft
embossing folder - magazine freebie
Delicate Aster die - Heartfelt Creations
Mr & Mrs die - Creative Expressions
Double Pierced Noble Rectangles - Creative Expressions
Swirl die - Marianne Creatables

The card looks pink but it is called lilac, and when you see it beside the pink card you can really see the difference.  I die cut the Mr and Mrs and the hearts in both white and lilac and then offset them slightly to give a shadow effect. I don't know the bride's colours but the invitations were in pink and lilac so I took that as a bit of a hint.  Wonder if I was right in my guess?  Well I'll know in about ten days.

Well that's all from me today.  Hope everybody is well and enjoying the summer weather.  Dare I say it's too hot?  Being so  fair and very fair skinned I can't cope with the sun, so it's Factor 50+ and a hat whenever I venture outdoors.  But I know I'm probably in the minority so if you like it - enjoy it!

Take care.

Carol Singers

Good morning.  It's time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and the theme, chosen by Kath, is "Carol Singers".  We also have an alternative theme which is "Make a Scene", so you can use either theme or maybe, if you are adventurous, you could combine the two.

Please remember that we accept only Christmas Cards.

Special Day

Good morning , and it really is lovely today.  The sun is shining although still a little fresh, but it's early yet.  Hope everyone is feeling fit and well.  We are going to go off to another National Trust property again today - make the most of the weather!

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" card base made from Hobbycraft card stock
lilac card stock - Hobbycraft
Elegant Labels 4  die - Spellbinders
Labels 4 die - Spellbinders
A2 Tranquil Moments die - Spellbinders
Faux Quilled leaves - Creative Expressions
Flowers, ribbon and pearls  - from stash
pearl pin - gift from Wendy (Spanish Crafter)
Sentiment - computer generated

I used lots of dies on this card but I think it looks very delicate.   I have this sentiment on a stamp and wanted to use it on this card but it didn't fit the Tranquil Moments die unless I turned the die and I didn't want to do that.  Instead I played around with different fonts on my computer until I came up with something I liked.  I think this card could be used for birthday, anniversary, wedding etc so quite a versatile one to have in my box.

Take care and enjoy whatever you are doing today.

One Stitch At A Time - Anything goes With Nature

Good morning to my friends and fellow bloggers, and if you have arrived by mistake, or by chance, you are very welcome.  Please leave a comment and if you have a blog I will visit you in return.

Please scroll down to the previous post if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club entry.

Time for another challenge at OSAAT and this time it is "Anything Goes ... With Elements Of Nature".  Now that is a really wide brief so you can go with trees, flowers, animals, birds etc. As you can see I have gone with a bird.

My Card

Recipe
6" base card - Papermania card stock
grey pearlescent card stock - Pennies Worth
DSP - "Feathered Friends"  Coosty Creations

black feathery fibre - from stash
card candi - Craftwork Cards

I have been pretty busy lately with a lot going on so my cards are tending to be fairly simple, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think this will make a great male card so will make a good addition to my box.  I have plenty of cards in there - but never enough masculine cards!

"Feathered Friends" by Coosty Creations can be found here in the store  There are four papers as well as the digi image in the set so a great pack to have. Why not visit the blog and you might be inspired by the projects of the design team to enter the challenge. This is waht you could win.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.  Take care.

Christmas Card Club - Snowmen

My goodness these two weeks seem to come round so quickly!  Well it's the weekend so naturally it is raining but just that horrible drizzle - "sea fret" as we called it in the north east.  I would much rather have a good old downpour.  Hope you are all fit and well.

My goodness these two weeks seem to come round so quickly! This card is not due until tomorrow but I have another card topost then so su usual I am posing a day early.  Lorraine has chosen our theme this week and it is snowmen.

sentiment stamp - unsureof make I'm afraid

I really like this backing paper which actually I felt didn't need anything adding to it apart from the gems.  A very simple, flat card.  My purse will appreciate all these flat cards when it comes time tobuy the stamps!!

Well that's all for today.

A Christmas Tree For Winter Wonderland

Good morning.  After a rainy start to the day it came out nicely so we went off to visit  a National Trust property, Buscote Park in Faringdon. The house was fine, but the gardens and park were absolutely fantastic and we had a wonderful time wandering the grounds. It is only open between 2pm and 6pm and we could have spent the four hours in the gardens and probably not covered it all.  Another visit is due I think.

Pat is the host for this week's challenge.  We now have two themes each time so you can choose "Let's See a Christmas Tree" or "Make It Cute". Of course you could also combine the two.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card base - Rymans card
green pearlescent card - Pennies Worth
Pierced Noble Rectangles - Creative Expressions
tartan backing paper - Dovecraft 12 Days of Christmas

Please pop over to the blog and see the inspiration from the design team. We have two generous sponsors this week.

Di's Digital Stamps ,  offering the winner a $12 voucher to use in store

And  The Craft Barn who have a £10 voucher for the lucky winner.

Well the weekend is almost upon us again and I will be back both days with more cards.  Four in a row!!  A record for me.

Take care.

MAWTT - No Patterned Paper

Good morning.  A quick post for me today.  It is time for another challenge at Moving Along With The Times. Our host for this challenge is Janice who chose the theme.

My Card

Recipe
white pearlescent card - Crafters Companion
Floral Ovals die - Spellbinders
Garden Lattice e/f - Spellbinders
Sentiment stamp - Creative Expressions
Ribbon and pearl from stash

I was wondering what to do for this challenge when I found this part finished card in my stash which fit the challenge. I found some multicoloured ribbon which matched quite well and added toning pearls.  Voila! Job done.  Since I was short of time I was very pleased about this.  I'm not sure how log it has been in the back of the drawer but it is years since I made an A5 card.  Anyway, it's used now.  Please pop across to the blog and and see wht my teamies have come up with.

Hope all is well for you and you have a great day.  Guess what?  It's raining here ... lol!

Snow Angel

Good morning.  It's time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and the theme, chosen by Anet, is "Snow Much Fun - things to do in the snow". The alternate theme is to add three embellishments.  That means you can use either theme, or even combine the two.  Mine actually combines the two - although if I'm honest that was by chance rather than design.  When I had finished my card I realised that I had added pearls, a snowflake and a row of icicles.  Anyway, I'm sure you will be able to make a card to fit - but remember Christmas Cards Only.

We are sponsored this time by Crafts U Love who are offering £10 to spend instore.

Hope this finds you all well. This post is sceduled because I am off to the NEC today  I was given a complimentary ticket so I thought I would go and see what this new show is like. The emphasis is on Stitching and Sewing I think.  None of the usual papercraft/stamping companies.

Well that's all from me so take care.
