Spring Fever

Good morning and I hope you are well.  Welcome to Winter Wonderland's  first challenge of 2017.  Unfortunately Eileen, our owner and co-ordinator,  is very poorly in hospital and so the DT have decided to keep the blog going  until Eileen is well and back with us again.  We have no sponsor this month but Kath has very kindly offered a prize. When Eileen returns we will be back to our sponsors.  This time we are not asking you to make Christmas project.  The theme is "Spring Fever - Flowers, Sunshine, Romance".  We look forward to seeing some bright cards to give us some respite from the cold, frosty, misty days. The challenge will last for four weeks so you will have plenty of time to enter.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" yellow pearlescent base card - old stash
image - taken from "Greeting Card Factory Deluxe"
sentiment - computer generated
daisies - large rose die "Britannia Dies"
butterfly - punch

I used some Pebeo 3D Gloss Touch to form the daisy centres and then sprinkled yellow glitter powder over. We would love you to join in our fun challenge.  Pop over to the blog  and see what the DT have come up with which might inspire you if Mr Mojo is not working too well.

Some of us from our WI visited the Guide Dog Training Centre in Leamington Spa yesterday and we had a fabulous afternoon and met some of the amazing dogs who will be going on to give somebody life changing support.  We visited the Breeding Centre in Bishops Tachbrook at the end of last year so it was interesting to see the next step in the process. The Guide Dogs Association has no government funding and relies entirely on fundraising. Since it costs approximately £52,000 per dog throughout it's life you can understand the need for fundraising!

Well that's all from me today.  Wrap up and keep warm!

  1. Morning Christine,
    Love the card.
I was very interested to read about your trip to the GDC.
Mt eldest daughter is a GD puppy walker she is now traing her 14th puppy. She's had some womnderful dogs and all but 2 have gone on to become Guide Dogs. Sh stays in touch with a few of the owners and has the dogs for a holiday if the owerners are going away.

  5. Beautiful card Christine, I love daisies and your colours lift the spirits.
Sounds a very interesting day at the Guide Dog centre, it an amazing organisation and a few years ago the Choral society raised money through the Carolthon for it, it was wonderful having the puppies there collecting donations, needless to say we too a lot of money that year, Kate x

  6. Your card is giving me a spring feeling! So you succeeded very well Christine!
About 8 kms from out home is also a guide-dog trainingcenter and when reading about your visit I see, that's almost the same! No government support, just gifts from people who care. We give a donation every month and it is so good to see what the trainers are doing!
Keep well and have a nice weekend,
    Lia xx

  7. Hi Christine
It's smashing to see such a bright and cheery floral card at this time of year, although today is lovely and bright here.
I read an article in Candis recently about the Leamington GDC and they do a terrific job.
    Have a great weekend.
