The Star That Guides The Wise Men

Good morning. Yet another foggy, frosty morning - but it is winter so what can you expect? It's time for another post for our Christmas Card Club.  This time Maureen is hosting the challenge and she wants to see the north star, or any stars. I have decided that I will post at least one Christmas card every week - and today I have excelled myself and have three to show.

My Cards

Recipe
7" square cards - Anna Marie Designs
Create a Card - We Three Kings Crafters Companion
gold card stock - Ross Paper Crafts
Gold glitter card - Hobbycraft
sentiment - computer generated.

As you can see these two cards use the same  Create a Card die but with slightly different colours and card stock. So simple.  On the first card I brushed gold Pans Pastels onto it whils it was still in the die, which gives a very  subtle effect. For the second card I put another verse, St Matthew 2:2  inside the card - "Where is He that is born King of the Jews, for we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him?"

Recipe
5" x 7" card from black card stock - old stash
the same dull gold card as above
sentiment image - from my file

I have had the sentiment image for a very long time but can't tell you where it was from.  Before I started blogging I never paid a great deal of attention - I do now! The light is very poor so the picture is not good. The two pieces of black card are identical but look very different in the picture, and the gold certainly doesn't look gold! In fact it is almost the same as the star believe it or not.

Anyway, I now have another three flat cards in my Christmas box so I'm a happy bunny. If only I manage to keep up the momentum ... lol!

If you want to see what the other girls have come up with you will find their contact details on my right side bar.

Take care.

  14. Hi Christine, I love the die cut, It's amazing how many cards can be made to look different using the same diecut, but different colours, isn't it? Beautiful cards, a great take on the theme. Hugs, Shaz XxX

  15. Hi Christine. You have made a beautiful trio of cards. I am in love with this Create a card die you used for the first two cards. It is really beautiful. The gold and white combo is very elegant here.
Your third card is stunning. I am fond of this white print on black card and you have pulled it off fabulously. Your star and village look great.

  16. Hi Christine
A wonderful festive trio. The gold on the first two reminds me of sand.
I'm trying to figure out how you printed your white sentiment on black card lol!
    Best wishes.

  17. Indeed, seems that we were channeling each other! I do love the die in #1 and #2 cards. How beautiful each is, and I love the way that you made each card look different with the techniques you used. Also love #3, very classic look with just the proper sentiment (at least I think so!). The gold does show up very nicely. My photo doesn't show the gleam of the heat embossing well at all. Hope all is well, and our day has been rainy & gloomy too. Hugs & TFS.

  18. I know the feeling with taking photos in this light and weather. I got totally frustrated yesterday trying to to get decent shots. Wow these are super North Star images. They all look classy. I'm trying to make a batch of 3 each time to get my stocks up. Hugs Mrs A. (ValeryAnne)
