This is my DT card for International Art and Soul. The challenge this time is to use lace and/or pearls. I had to quickly make a sympathy card a few days ago when my cousin died very suddenly and unexpectedly. This Tonic die was the ideal one to make a quick card, but one with impact. This followed on from a very dear old friend, also from back home, who passed away at the age of 96. Marjorie was a very good friend of my mum and I have kept in close touch with her since mum died, and every time I went back to visit my beloved sister we would both visit Marjorie. She used to love receiving my cards. This card wasn't made specifically for the challenge but fit the topic so well which was a bonus. My sister was very much the optimist and her favourite saying was "There's always a bonus" so this brings her back so clearly I can almost hear her saying it.
We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery, guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate. The world is all gates, all opportunities. Ralph Waldo Emerson

ReplyDeleteHi Christine,
ReplyDeleteoh I am so sorry for your loss.
I don't know about you, but it always seems to happen in threes.
Every time this has happened to me it always ends up as 3 over a short period of time.
Your card is so bautiful and perfect for such a sad occasion.
Love the wonderful design.
Love and big crafty hugs. Jenny L.
A lovely image in beautiful shade of blue for such a sad occasion. Am I correct in thinking you are a Geordie? Hazel x

ReplyDeleteHugs,

So beautiful Christine, even in this time of sadness you have really managed to find your creative spirit and isn't it wonderful when small things we do bring those who have moved on seem so close to us. I love the blue and white them here and the die is so versatile, I can see how it can have many uses following you theme of adding the peace dove die to other dies for different occasions. May have to put this die on my wish list :) :) :) Well done you :) xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteAw Christine I am so so sorry you are having such a terrible time. Life is just so unfair. I do love your card...I have these dies still not used. They are perfect for the occasion. Keep your chin up my dear crafty friend....take care. Lea x

ReplyDeleteHi Christine
ReplyDeleteYes, we chatted about this on Tuesday and it doesn't seem fair that someone so lovely has had to deal with so much sadness in such a short space of time.
A beautiful card and perfect for the sad occasion.
Take care.
