Under The Weather

Hello everybody.  Hope you have all had a good Bank Holiday weekend to date.  The weather could have been better but we have certainly had far worse!! Friday and Saturday were very bright and sunny but quite chilly!  Sunday started very cloudy, breezy and  cold; in fact it was almost like winter had returned.  Brrr!  But the rain didn't come until about 5pm.

My card today is for my brother in law.  Following his stroke last year he is very unsteady on his feet and two weeks ago he overbalanced and fell backwards.  Initially they thought he had just broken the coccyx (tail bone) but unfortunately it turns out that it is the pelvis which has been damaged, which accounts for the severe pain and how ill he is feeling.  It will be about three months more before it heals.  Poor chap is certainly having more than his fair share of bad luck.
My Card

My card is 6 " x 6" and the papers and digi image are all from Clear Dollar Stamps "Rainy Days" and the papers were pieces from my bit box so I can go back and play in the playground with the other playmates. The image was diecut with SB Large Classsic Squares and matted onto SB Lacy Squares.  I computer generated the sentiment onto the cloud image.   A very simple card  but I love this little duck with his wellies and umbrella.  I then just added some bakers twine and a few gems to finish it off. Oops nearly forgot - also added some "blobs" a la Ollie's Mam!

That's it from me.  Short and sweet today!

After some unpleasant comments I have had to apply Comment Moderation I hope you will understand.

  1. Good morning Christine, gosh it never "rains but it pours" so sorry to hear about your brother. Patience, patience and even more patience needed and men are not good at that are they??
You have made a beautiful, bright fun card that I am sure will brighten his day.
We were very lucky with the weather over the weekend, no rain, plenty of sunshine but rather chilly. Not complaining really but just a "tad" warmer would be nice........can't have everything as they say!!!
    Have a good day
    Hugs

  24. Just saw this sweetie duck at another blog, and what a versatile image he is. So very cute, and I love the way you have him all dressed up here. The DP is so pretty with his cute little self, and your coloring is great. Liked the pearls you added, along with the sparkling rhinestones too. This should cheer up your poor BIL immensely. I can just imagine how sore he must be feeling, and then to fall. My goodness. Hope the remaining healing goes with no further upsets. TFS & Hugs.
