Winter Blossoms at Winter Wonderland

Good morning.  We had a couple of glorious days and then wham! Back to cold and windy.  Ah, the good old British weather!

This is my DT post for the Winter Wonderland challenge "Winter Blossoms" which was chosen by Marie . This isn't the card I planned to make.  I have a lovely John Lockwood poinsettia stamp set I got last year but could I find it?  Of course I could - but not until I had gone with Plan B!  Instead of being in the box with my Christmas stamps I had inadvertently put it with the sentiment stamps.  Never mind, this is one of my favourite Christmas stamps anyway and so I added the poinsettia die cuts and holly to fit in with the winter blossom theme.

Our sponsors this time are Bugaboo Stamps who are giving seven  images from their online store, and the Craft Barn, who are offering a £10 voucher to spend in store.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" tent fold card - made from Papermania card stock
A2 Bracket Borders One - Spellbinders
Midnight Clear background stamp - Our Daily Bread Designs
Poinsettia dies - Marianne
Holly Vine die - Memory Box
Pearls - Hobby House

I used the bracket border to shape the base of the card and coloured a border with the same ink I used for stamping. I'm sorry that it's not a very clear image.

We would love you to join in so please pop over to the challenge blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the DT. Please remember that we only accept Christmas projects!

Have a great day.  Take care.

Anything Goes With Wings at OSAAT

Good morning. I really hope that you are all well. Thank you for your visit today.  It is much appreciated.

The theme this week is Anything Goes With Wings at OSAAT and I have chosen this gorgeous pre-coloured image from Coosty Creations called Kingfisher.

(Please scroll down if you are looking for my CCC card)

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card - from Rymans
turquoise card - Limetree Crafts
backing paper - digital download
Argyle embossing folder - Embossalicious

This card is absolutely nothing like I imagined it was going to be when I started out, but I like the result anyway.  I 've had the papers and cardstock a while and as soon as I saw this image I knew they would be perfect.

We would love you to join in with our challenge and wings can cover so much (oops - pun not intended) - birds, angels, fairies, butterflies, dragonflies.  So what are you waiting for. You could win a coupon to spend in the store and there is so much choice there.

Well that's all from me today.

Red Berries For The Christmas Card Club

Good morning to you all and thinks for your visit. Time again for another offering for the Christmas Card Club.  This time it is Valery's turn to host and she wants to see red berries. I have actually made two cards this time.  I am determined to keep ahead this year.  Last year I started out very well but then somehow managed to find myself lagging behind.  Well it's not going to happen this year!

Card 1

This is an A6 card and uses an image from my Greeting Card Factory programme and re-sized to fit the card. I used Sue Wilson's Noble Pierced Rectangles to die cut the image and the mat. All it needed then was the sentiment stamping at the top.

Card 2

Ths time my card is very tiny - only 4" square.  I have never made small cards before but I do receive quite a lot of small Christmas cards so I thought I would give it a try.  It actually looks pretty good so there might be more coming up! The image is from the same source as before because I have already used the images I have that show berries on previous cards and I wanted to show something different. This time I computer generated the sentiment before printing it off and then used Sue Wilson's Noble Squares to die cut.  So two very simple festive cards.

As usual this card is not due until tomorrow but I have another DT card to post then and I prefer not to post twice on the same day.

Well take care and enjoy your weekend.  I hope you are doing something fun and interesting.

Spring Flowers At MAWTT

Good morning. MAWTT have another challenge today and it is the turn of Team A.  Gail is hosting this time and she wants to see some spring flowers.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - made  from The Range card stock
image - LOTV art pad "English Charm" (discontinued)
Papers - First Edition "Daydream"
Daisies - Britannia medium rose die
Noble Pierced Rectangles - Sue Wilson

Well spring is here, although some days don't feel very spring-like I have to confess.  This card makes me feel cheerful though with all these lovely spring flowers and the birds making their nests.  I used this image a few weeks ago (here) but this time I have chosen very different papers and colours so it looks very different - hopefully!!

Please pop across to the blog and check out what the rest of the DT have made and maybe it will encourage you to join us in the challenge.

Have a good day.  Take care.

Millie With Flowers

Good morning. A quick post today with a very simple card.  I am hoping to go up north to see my sister soon, although I'm not at all sure when.  I usually make some cards to take up with me so that she always has a stash handy.  So this one is for Jeanie's collection.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card base - from Papermania card stock
image - digi kit Pink Gem Designs
blue card for matting - Duo-tone card from Penniesworth
blue gingham card - Anna Marie Designs
daisis - Woodware punch
butterflies- punch
pearls from stash

This image is from a digi kit meant to make an 8" card but I have made it smaller and used it just like any other topper.  These are so versatile and great to make cards if needed in a hurry. There is also an image to use as an insert but I forgot to take the picture. I then just punched some daisies using matching card stock to fnish.  Simple but effective.

Well, I hope this finds you all well and I hope you have been having a good weekend.

Baubles For Winter Wonderland Challenge

Good morning.  Well spring is definitely here, although some days it is hard to tell when it is so cold and windy.  However, I think there might be more good days than bad -or maybe that's me carrying a half full glass rather than a half empty one ... lol!

I had a great evening out last night.  Three friends and I went to a charity fashion show at the Charlcote Pheasant Hotel which was run by  Shipston Rotary Club.  Great start with wine and canapés before the show commenced.  Super clothes but a tad pricy!!!  Anyway, it's always nice to have a night out.

Time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and this time our host is Carol C who has asked us to show baubles on our projects..

My Card

Anything Goes ... with Distressing at OSAAT

Good day to you all.  Well here I am for the third day in a row - just like buses; none for ages then three altogether.  As you can see this is my DT card for Anything Goes with Distressing for OSAAT.   And boy do I get distressed making this type of card!   But I did  feel pretty pleased with myself when I had finished.   Whenever I distress paper/card I can "feel" my mum on my shoulder asking what do I think I'm doing damaging this lovely cardstock!

Please scroll to previous post if you are looking for my CCC card.

My Card

I was even more distressed when I realised that it barely showed up in the picture so I took a close up, which also showed the sentiment text.
Recipe
5" x & 2 base card - not sure where the cardsock is from
digi sentiment - Coosty Creations
heart die - Nellie Snellen
border die - Tessatina Border from Memory Box
roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
lace from stash
leaves - Woodware punch
pearly spray - The Ribbon Girl
pearls from stash

I machine stitched around some of the card stock, distressed with a distressing tool and inked the edges with Versacolour Petal Pink ink.

Please pop over to the blog and see the wonderful creations from the rest of the DT which might persuade you to join in our challenge. The  winner will get a $10 coupon to spend in Stitchy Bears Digital Outlet

Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Christmas Card Club - Use A Stencil

Good morning.  Gosh, it's the weekend again already! Once again I am posting my card  a day early.  MInd you, it almost got posted two weeks early because I misread the challenge list rota.    Fortunately I did realise my mistake in time to make another card, but it meant I was way ahead of myself.  This time Carol asked us to use a stencil,  or an embossing folder if we didn't have a stencil.  I have never used a stencil but I do have a few but I didn't think I had a Christmas one, but then remembered this one that I got at the NEC last November. So I was greedy and used both stencil and embossing folder.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card base made from Papermania card stock
Embossing Folder - Crafter's Companion
Stencil - don't know I'm afraid
Decorative Circle - SB Grand Nestabilities
gems - Hobbycraft

I don't think I did too badly for a first attempt, but I'm sure I'll get better with practice.  I used Cosmic Shimmer Colour Cloud Blending Ink in Clear Day and Indigo Mist . I used the Clear Day ink to colour around the circle and then diecut the whole thing in one go - mainly because I didn't have a circle die the right size for the stencil and I didn't trust myself to fussy cut the circle without making a total hash of it. Anyway it turned out okay so all's well that ends well, in the words of the Bard himself.

Well I hope you are all well and that you have a good weekend planned.

"For The Kids" at Crafty Time Challenges

Good morning to you all.  Where does the time go?  Friday already! Our theme  at Crafty Time Challenges this month is "For The Kids"and the sponsor for this  challenge is Fabrika Fantasy . The image I am using is a pre-coloured one, Pirate Parrot.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card base - Papermania card stock
red & blue papers - from stash
patterned paper -Caribbean fromThe Colour Wheel Company (ancient stash!)
"Lifebelt" - made from SB Circle dies
sentiment - computer generated
bakers twine and gems - from stash

I thought this backing paper was a little like the netting on a shop and I could just visualise my pirate climbing up it.  Hopefully the die cut circles give the impression of a life belt.

We would love you to join us in our  challenge so that we can go out with a bang!!  Hop across to the blog and see the great inspiration from the DT.  There will also be more inspiration on the 14th and 27th of the month so remember to check back.

We have had a couple of beautiful days here and on Wednesday John and I had an "away day".  We took ourselves off to Henley on Thames, visited the National Trust property Greys Court and had lunch out. We need to do it more often! The sun is shining again right now so let's hope it signals another good day.  I do love spring!

Well I hope you are well and enjoying life.  Take care!
