Trains, Planes ad Automobile for MAWTT Challenge

Good morning. It is time for another challenge at MAWTT and it is Trains, Planes and Automobiles.

My Card

I used stamps and co-ordinating dies from Just Right Stampers. It is not easy to see but I stamped the car image onto the black card and heat embossed it. The cogs are from an old Papermania die set.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out my team mates cards and you may decide to join in with the challenge.

It's Christmas at Moving Along with the Times

Good afternoon.  It's the first of the month and time for the final challenge this year at MAWTT.

My Card

I have used an old Lili of the Valley image from the Art Pads and stamped the sentiment. I also used Sue Wilson's Noble Pierced Rectangles and embossing folder all mounted onto a 5" x  7" white card base. I do wish LOTV would bring back Art Pads - they are far more useful to me than the current printed images. Another flat based card for posting - although with all the postal strikes who knows if our cards will get to their  recipients at all? We'll just have to keep everything crossed.

Take care.

Inky Background at MAWTT

Good morning. It's time for a new challenge here at Moving Along With The Times. The challenge is to make an inky background.

My Card

I used a 6" square card base and an embossing folder from Crafter's Companion to emboss the front of the card. I used a stencil that I've had for a number of years but it has rarely seen ink. After stencilling I diecut it with Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities - very old dies.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out the work from the rest of the DT?

Enjoy your day.

"Birthday" at MAWTT

Hi, I'm a bit late showing my DT card for Moving Along With The Times where the theme is Birthdays.

My Card

I have made a double column card from white card stock and the paper I used is from The Works pad "Flowers Blooming". The banner die is Joanna Sheen and the pretty birdcage is from Cottage Cutz. The stamped greeting is from Crafter's Companion.  This is a very effective card which folds flat for posting.

Why not pop over to the blog to see the cards from the rest of the DT.

 Take care.

Love/Anniverary/Wedding at MAWTT

Good mornng and thank you for visiting.  It's time for our second challenge of the year at MAWTT and Jenny has chosen the theme.

My Card

I have used a 5"x7" white base card and matted it with pink card embossed with a Crafts Too folder of trellis hearts. The image is Lily of the Valley. I stamped the sentiment with a John Next Door stamp. I also used Sue Wilson's Noble Pierced Rectangle dies.

It's very simple but it's one to pop into the box just in case it's needed.

Take care.

MAWTT - Girl/Female

Good morning and hope you are all well.  I haven't started the new year very well I'm afraid.  This should have been posted on January 1st and I totally forgot about it!  I apologise to Diane Louise and the rest of the DT.

My Card

showing inside of card

I added the paper to the card front and then diecut a circle to show the inside. I cut the paper for the inside twice and decoupaged the daisies before stamping the two sentiments  from JustRite stamps.

Take care.

MAWTT Anything but a Card

Good morning and hope this finds you well. It is  time for a new challenge at Moving Along With The Times and this time we don't want to see any cards. This leaves a whole range of crafting projects and we're looking forward to seeing yours.

My Project

I am in a Craft and Laugh group which is part of our WI. We have just starting meeting again about a month ago. We are a small group and are able to socially distance in the Village Hall where we meet. Throughout the lockdowns we were obviously unable to meet physically but some of the ladies met on zoom.  Our Village Tea Rooms was obviously closed too so last Christmas we asked if we could decorate the two windows and they were delighted. We were then asked to do an Easter theme and then a summer theme.  We have now been asked to do a Halloween/Autumn theme. The Halloween things will be coming down in the morning and we will be putting up all the autumn stuff.  This is a wreath I made along with other stuff. I used all John Lockwood dies. The community have been rally pleased with our efforts and we have had a lot of lovely feedback. I don't think it will come as a surprise if they ask to do more Christmas windows.

Why not pop over to the blog and check the  diverse projects from the rest of the DT? We would love to see something you have made too.

Take care.

Bingo at MAWTT

Good morning.  Today at MAWTT we are playing BINGO.

If you want to play along you need to use one line of the grid and that can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal. Please say on your post which line you are using.

My Card

For my card I used the centre horizontal line and as you can see I used patterned paper, image - matching topper- and glitter which I actually mixed with flower soft to make the centres of the flowers. You can just about make out the glitter in the photo but in real life it is actually very effective. I used the papers and one of the toppers from The Paper Boutique set Evening Blooms. I love how subdued the colours are.

Why not pop over to the blog, check out the work from the DT and maybe you will be inspired to join in.

Take care and enjoy your day.

Under The Sea at MAWTT

It's time for another challenge at Moving Along With the Times and Zoe has chosen the theme which is Under the Sea.

This theme almost caught me out because I only have one set of stamps and papers with this theme and I used it last year.  I felt I had no other option - but then I found this image in my Greeting Card Factory programme so I was saved. My brother is Pisces so I was going to go with a male theme and pick out the blue/green colours but the lilac in the fishes and in the border called to me so I just had to go with it. When I added lilac glitter to the fishes it just looked so much like scales.

Why not pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have come up with?

Take care and have a good day.

Summer Fun at MAWTT.

It's time for another challenge at MAWTT and there is a choice of theme. I went with Summer Fun but you could also choose Summer Colours - Orange& Yellow.

My Card

This is 6" base card made from green card stock from Limetree Crafts. The image is from the Paper Shelter and matted with cream and brown card.I computer generated the sentiment and then just added some leaves from John Next Door.

Why not pop across to the blog and you may be inspired to join in the challenge. The DT members have used both themes so there is plenty to inspire you.

Take care and enjoy your day.

Cool It Down at MAWTT

Good morning. and I hope you are all well. It's time for another challenge at MAWTT and Tinz has chosen the theme of "Cool It Down".

My Card

This is a very simple card using a pre-made image from The Paper Shelter. All I did was double mount it onto two shades of green card then added it to a 6" square cream base card. A computer generated sentiment was die cut with Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Circles and  added to the corner. If you pop over to the blog you will see the cards made by the rest of the team.

Enjoy your day.

Art Deco at Moving Along With The Times

Good morning and I hope you all had a good Bank Holiday weekend if you are in the UK. It is time for a new challenge at MAWTT and the theme, chosen by Ang, is Art Deco.

My Card

This Hunkydory image is one of my favourites and sentiment is great. This is from a Hunkydory book and I have already used it three times and I think there is one remaining. I have made it into a 7" square card. The colours of her gown are gorgeous so I picked out the teal to mat and layer in  pearlescent and glitter card. I think the lavender pearlescent card toned nicely and so I just added the feather and bow.

Please pop across to the blog and see what my team mates have made for this challenge.  They are all super.

Take care.

Bouquet of Flowers at MAWTT

Good  morning and it's time for a new challenge at MAWTT. The theme has been chosen by Jenny and she wants to see bouquets of flowers. Who doesn't like to see flowers?

The sun is shining and looks like the start of a fine weekend.

My Card

This card looks quite washed but in real life it is not quite this pale.I used two small toppers from a Hunkydory pack which was a freebie I think from one of the craft shows I attended some years ago. I matted the toppers and card with silver mirrror card and diecut the Crafter's Companion butterflies from the same silver cards.

Please pop over to the blog and check out the cards made by the rest of the DT.

Take care and have a good weekend.

Animals/Birds at MAWTT

Good morning.  I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful weather the past three days  if you live in the UK .  March did what it's supposed to do coming in like lion and going out like a lamb.

We have another challenge for you today at MAWTT and it is to show birds or animals on your card.

My Card

I used a fox on a Christmas card which makes a nice change. The paper and topper are from the Paper Boutique's "A Whisper of Winter.". The pine cones are from John Next Door.

Why not pop across to the blog and see what my teamies have made for this challenge.

I can't believe just  how quickly time is passing. The whole of lockdown seems to have gone by so  fast - although my brother disagrees with me on that point. If people behave themselves than we can continue to take steps in ending the lockdown slowly but surely, so fingers crossed.

Take care.

Spring is Coming at MAWTT

Good morning and hope this finds you all well. We have had some lovely spring-like days for the past three days and it does make you hopeful that before too long spring will be on the way. There is a quote I have sometimes used on cards "No matter how long the winter spring is sure to follow." I chose the theme for MAWTT this month and as you see I chose Spring.

My Card

I

I used some Hunkydory products that I have had for years and the packs are still intact so I need to get on with using them up because they do  look very pretty.

This is another card to send to my sister becasue she looks forward to them coming.

Please pop acorss to the blog and check out the cards from the rest of the DT.

Take care.

Something New for MAWTT

Happy New Year to you all and I hope you had a good Christmas.

I have had a total break from blogging and card making and now I am desperately playing catch up. I chose to use a new house card for my friend who moved back from Scotland to Redcar after living near Edinburgh for more than 40 years.

My Card

I had put all my stuff away for Christmas and have not yet got it out so although this card has many layers I used no dies at all. It takes me back to when I first started card making and dies were a long way in the future!  These days we wonder where we would be without  them!

Well that's it from me.  Take care

Winter or Summer Holiday Theme at MAWTT

Hello and I hope this finds you all okay. Well here we are at the end of the year and who would have thought that almost nine months have passed and we are still in some kind of lockdown - some of us more than others.  Fortunately we are in Tier 2 but it still won't make a great deal of difference to us we will just continue as we have been doing and only going out for shopping .  If it helps prevent the spread of teh virus I'm all for it!

Time for another card at MAWTT and Wendy has chosen the theme of holidays, either summer or winter.

My Card

This is a six inch square base card made from Ryman's card stock.  I printed the image on to a large piece of white card to make one layer of image and sentiment.  The image is from Ruth Moorehead and so cute. My brother and sisters and I used to love sledging when the snow came and we lived on a bit of a hill so it was ideal. The sentiment is from Sue Wilson. A few gems finished it making it nice and flat for posting.

Why not take a look at the blog and see what my team mates have come up with?

Enjoy your day.

Christma Flowers at MAWTT

Good morning.  It's the first of the month so time for a new challenge at Moving Along With The Times. Jenny  chose our theme this month and as you can see she wants to see Christmas Flowers.  Poinsettia tome are the quintessential Christmas flower.  I always buy a plant at Christmas - but I'm never successful at keeping them alive for too long. 😉😞

My Card

I love this image from Beccy's Place and used the Britannia poinsettia dies and ivy leaves from John Next Door to replicate the corner on the image. It fits so well inside the Spellbinders diecut.

Why not pop across to the blog and check out the cards made by the rest of the team?

Hope you are having a good weekend and not having too bad a time with the awful weather.

Take care.

Animals or Birds at MAWTT

Good morning. It's time for our next challenge at MAWTT and as you can see the theme is animals or birds.

My card is for a friend I haven't seen for some time and since they are dairy farmers I'm sure it will be appreciated.

My Card

My base card is made from navy linen card stock  and the image matted an layered onto it.  The sentiment has been computer generated.  I have been so busy trying to get my WI crafting projects sorted that I haven't had a great deal of time for my own work. It was a case of either make a very simple card or miss this challenge; obviously I didn't want to do that so simple it is.

Please pop over to the blog and see what my teamies have made for the challenge.

Take care whatever it is you will be doing today.

Create a Scene at Moving Along With The Times

Good morning.  Gosh I can scarcely believe it is September already.  Where on earth has this year gone? I have heard some people say that time is dragging with lock  down etc, but to me it simply flies by. It is no sooner Monday than suddenly Sunday appears again ... lol. 😉😊

Our challenge at Moving Along With The Times this month is to create a scene.

My Card

Recipe
white card stock -  Ross Papercraft
black card stock - Rymans
tree embossing folder - Nellie Snellen
Finleys Trees dies - John Next Door
deer scene die - John Next Door
sentiment die - Sue Wilson

This 3D card folds flat into a 5" x 7" envelope.  I followed a tutorial from Maxine Payne. I embossed the Nellie Snellen  folder twice and trimmed different side to fit and make a slightly different scene on each side of the card. It is rather difficult to see in real life the folder is lovely. Even though it is not 3D it is very deeply embossed. This card  was so easy to do that I have also made one with flowers which I will show at a later date. Lashings of glitter gives  a very frosty, winter feel to it.

Pop across to the blog to see what the other DT members have made for this challenge.  I don't think you will be disappointed.

Take care and enjoy your day.
