Nautical Card for IAAS

Good morning.  This is my DT post for International Art And Soul where the theme is Marine, Ocean, Sea.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card base from navy pearlescent card - stash
backing paper - from my digi stash
image - from digi stash
ship's anchor  - Cheery Lynn Designs
pennant dies - Creative Expressions

The backing paper started life as creamy brown but I digitally altered it so it fitted my theme better. So this is another card for my male box.

Please pop across to the blog and see what my team mates have come up with this for this challenge.  We are a Just For Fun Challenge so don't give prizes but you might still like to join us.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Happy Anniversary

Good morning. Another quick post and another quick card.  I had to make this in a hurry so I could catch the postman.  He always collects anything I have  for posting.  Great guy!!

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
Heart trellis e/f -  Crafts Too
large heart die - Hobbycraft Intricut dies
Small heart die - Nellie Snellen
butterfly die - Spellbinders

Yet another simple card.  One of these days my mojo will return but he's certainly taking a long time about it.   Occasionally I come up with something reasonable but for the last year or so that has been a very infrequent occurrence. Ah well, I'll just keep on keeping on as they say.

Take care.

70th Birthday

Good morning.  I was so excited yesterday because we had rain!! The well is full and all the water butts are full and my plants all look so fresh and nourished.  It doesn't take much to please me ... lol!  Now I  would still like more rain but it can rain overnight and then we will all be happy!

My Card

Recipe
white cardstock - from stash
pink centura pearl - Crafters Companion
Create a Card die  - Die'sire
Etched Alphabet & Numbers  - Spellbinders
Oval Bliss - Spellbinders
pearls - from stash

I created a side fold step card from A4 card stock and die cut the Create a Card die into the main piece which I then backed with Centura pearl. I needed it to be quite flat for posting and luckily it didn't need too much more adding to it. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the die because I took it out of the original wrapping and popped it onto a magnetic sheet and promptly misplaced the piece with the name on. Since that was a couple of years ago now I know it will definitely not turn up again!

Well I hope you are all well and enjoying life.

Take care.

Christmas Activities

Good morning.  Time for our little Christmas Card Club to produce another card in our quest to keep ourselves well ahead of the game and come December there will be no sense of panic or urgency.  This time Maureen is hosting and she wants to see something to do with activities at Christmas such as  sleighing, sledging, skiing etc.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - Rymans
silver mirri and glitter card - Crafters Companion
Wintertide die - Amy Designs

I chose this die because there are skis leaning against the tree and ice skates hanging from the lamp post so I've ticked two boxes. All the mirri and glitter makes it very Christmas-sy - but very difficult to photograph.  Ah well, I know that in real life it looks very pretty.

I like these smaller sentiment dies.  The large ones are great to make a statement on a card but sometimes just  a tad to big for smaller cards.

Well I hope you have been enjoying your weekend.

Take care.

For The Boys

Good morning and I hope this finds you all well.  This is my DT card for MAWTTSharon has chosen the theme this time and her choice is "For The Boys".

My Card

Recipe
A5 card base -bronze card from stash
ribbed old gold card - from stash
toppers  - old stash
embellishments - old stash

I made this card a while ago but I am sure I never published it and I have gone back a long time on my blog trying to find it. I remember having to make it it in a great rush because I had the birthday of one of John's friends and needed something in a desperate hurry so that he could take it down to his friend;  hence all the toppers and peel off greeting!   I just love those nautical toppers.

Well we had the much needed rain last week and my water butts are full again but I think they will soon be empty again because there's been nothing since.  But the grass is just starting to green up again.
Please pop over to the blog and find out what my team mates have made for this male challenge.

Take care.

Christmas Traditions at IAAS

Well here I am for the third day in a row - and the third Christmas card too.  This is my DT card for International Art and Soul. The theme of  the challenge is Christmas Traditions so I chose  sending Christmas cards. Initially I was going to use carol singing then remembered that was the theme of the Christmas Card Club.  Three Christmas cards in a row in such heat.  Crazy!!

If you are looking for my CCC card please scroll down to previous post.

My Card

Recipe
white card stock for base - Anna Marie Designs
red card stock - Rymans
patterned paper - Home For Christmas: Papermania
topper - Lili of the Valley
large poinsettia die - Creative Expressions
small poinsettia - Marianne Designs
sentiment die - Creative Expressions

I have been playing around with fun fold cards this week and this one is called an Impossible Card.  Clearly it isn't impossible just clever cutting and folding.  John was amazed when I showed him and he was sure I had stuck two pieces together.  It really does look very effective and especially since it is made from a single piece of card 7" x 5".  It folds totally flat for posting and the finished size is 7" x 6" but this depend on the size of the topper you apply.

Well that's all from me today.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take care.

Carol Singing for the Christmas Card Club

Good morning.  These two weeks soon come around.  This time Margaret has chosen our theme which is Christmas Choir or Carol Singing.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card
blue cardstock - Limetree Craft
image - In The Lamplight LOTV
Falling Snow e/f - Creative Expressions
Lacey Circles dies - Spellbinders
Sentiment stamp - Little Claire

Another simple card.  This year, except for the special cards for family and friends, I am trying to keep my cards simple - and flat as far as possible, although I did raise the topper with foam pads this time.

This Simply Print image from LOTV is one of my favourites. It always reminds me of my sister and I when we were children.  I always had long hair whereas Jeanie's was short and mine was  much fairer than hers. And we were always singing, both together and in a choir. Alas, memories are all I have now sadly, but they cannot be taken away.

This card is not due until tomorrow but as usual I am posting early to avoid clashing with a DT card on Sunday.

Well we finally had some rain yesterday evening - all three drops of it ... lol ! 😀 😁  It's like the Sahara Desert.  I'm sure it will come eventually - I've been doing my rain dance every day but not worked so far.

We had a lovely day out yesterday with WI when we went to Marlow and Henley on Thames. We decided on a boat trip on the Thames at Henley assuming it would be cooler on the river but not so. But it was a great day all round with lots of laughs.

Well that's it for today.  Enjoy your weekend.

Take care.
