All Wrapped Up for CCC

Good morning.  This is my card that should have been posted yesterday so with apologies to the ladies in the Christmas Card Club here it is at last. I post so infrequently that I don't like doing it twice on the same day. The theme, chosen by Carol, is "All Wrapped Up".  I took that to be all the gifts wrapped up but I think all the others have gone for wrapped up against the cold. I think either is right - hopefully!!

My Card

Recipe
6" square red base card - made from Ryman's card stock
green pearlescent card stock - from stash
digi topper - old stash (unknown)
sentiment computer generated
Noble pierced squares - Creative Expressions

I enlarged the image to what I thought would just about fill the card front and typed the sentiment. After die cutting with the Noble Squares it was fine for size. I just added a ribbon bow and a few pearls and that was it.

Hope you all had a good weekend.  Take care.

Embossing at Winter Wonderland.

Good morning.  It is so cold here and yesterday we had a sprinkle of snow which disappeared very quickly thank goodness.

I'm here today with my DT card for Winter Wonderland.  I am hosting this challenge and my theme is "Use Embossing - Dry or Heat".  A nicer easy challenge I'm sure you will agree.

Loch Lomond

Good morning crafty friends.  I hope everybody is well.  After the glorious weekend we had Tuesday was incredible!  I thought I was going to have to start John off  building an ark!  Wow, we had so much rain!  I can't complain that the wells and water butts are empty now!

Another encouragement card.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" card made from Kraft cardstock
Loch Lomond image - Terri Sherman
Grey leather effect card from stash
Scraps of black card from stash.
Cheery Lynn - Mini Fanciful Flourish
Computer generated quote

A nice easy card to put together.  I bought the digi image a few years ago and never got round to using it till now.  The Fanciful Flourish die is something else I have had for a while and not used.  I feel happier now that I have used up two pieces of NBUS!

The Tolkein quote was found on the internet and I also placed a quote inside which reads " Without fear there cannot be courage " by Christopher Paolini, another internet find. I love searching for quotes but I tend to get carried away and can be there for hours ... lol!

Well, I must be off.  Take care!

Must Use Stars - Get Creative Challenge # 19

Good morning.  Here I am for the third time in a row.  If you have ever waited ages for a bus and then two or three come together you will know why I liken my posts to buses!!  This is my DT post for Get Creative Challenges. Our sponsor is  Cute As A Button  and my fabulous image can be found here

My Card

Ingredients
6" x 6" card - made from cream card stock
Backing papers - all from Father Knows Best  by Lili of The Valley
Star brads - ancient stash
Sentiment - computer generated
Promarkers to colour

I have so many brads which have never seen the light of day for years so I decided to correct that with my last few cards.  Actually I haev removed the legs and attached them with a hot glue gun.

Well that's it from me for now.  Hope you are all okay.

Born To Be Wild

Good morning dear friends and fellow bloggers.   I hope everybody is "Tickety Boo", as Mrs Duck is wont to say!

I was asked to make a card for a gentleman who will be 85 this week.  He still has a real love of motorcycles and has a good sense of humour so I thought this might be okay.

My Card

Recipe

6" x 6" card base made from Dovecraft silver card stock
Red card from stash
Industrial Grunge metal digi papers from Cardmaking Downloads
Papermania Chronology Cogs and Gears dies
Computer generated sentiments
Promarkers to colour.

I have had the digi image for a few years now and it was still in its zipped file, but there was no name or other information with it.  I had a feeling it was a Just Inklined image so I checked the website and there it was.  Seems strange that there is no reference to it in the zip file received.  Two sentiments are included - Born to be Wild and Free Spirit but since I wanted the sentiments to match I computer generated them using Staccato font.  I then just added some black pearls into the cogs.

Luckily my friends were pleased with the card and they say Ken will love it, so that's  okay.  I also put a quote inside (I do love my quotes!) which said " A man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams" which is by John Barrymore.

OSAAT Challenge 237 Anything Goes ... With Appreciation

Good afternoon to you all.  Time for another challenge at OSAAT. This time we would like to see your project showing appreciation.  It doesn't have to be a card; we love seeing any type of project. My image is  Kyo from Stitchy Bear's Digital Stamp Outlet.  The designer is Kaz Krafts and you can get it  here. This includes a pre-coloured image as well as a line drawing. I actually made use of the pre-coloured image this time since it was the perfect match for the paper I had chosen.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card base made from card from The Range
Pink pearlescent card - Pennies Worth
Raspberry pearlescent card - from stash
Cherry Blossom paper - Docrafts "Lucy Cromwell"
Dancing Lanterns die - Spellbinders
Lacy Circles - Spellbinders
Auvergne - Sue Wilson
Fan - digi image found online
Gems - from stash

Because the image was pre-coloured this card came together so quickly and so easily. If only they were all like this!  I hung the Dancing Lanterns with embroidery thread so they really do dance - well sway anyway! I computer-generated the sentiment and then cut the die cut in half so it resembled a fan.  Some tiny pink gems finished it. The Auvergne and Provence dies are rapidly becoming my go - to favourite dies right now. The plain dies are a perfect backing for so many images.

The prize you could win.

Well that's all from me today.  Hope you are all well.

Get Creative Challenges #11

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  Hope everything is well in your little world.

It's time for another challenge at Get Creative Challenges The challenge is to use a diecut - must be one of the easiest challenges going because so many of us use diecuts in our projects. Please think about joining us for a chance to win three images of your choice from our sponsor Oddball Art.

My Card

Recipe
Oddball Art digi - Big Eyed Bedtime Pajama Girl
Papermania cardstock- to make 6" square card.
LOTV - Pastel Dreams (Nitwit Papers)
Spellbinders - A2 Bracket Borders One
Prima - paper flowers
Pearls from stash
Rub On Sentiment - very old stash
Promarkers - to colour image

I found it difficult to get a decent picture.  The colours on the card are so pale and the sun is very bright - but I am not complaining about that!!!!!  The last couple of days have been lovely if a bit chilly at times.

Well, that's it for today.  Take care.

Welcome Home

Good morning to all my lovely friends and fellow bloggers and thank you for popping by.  Thank you for all your good wishes for John - he seems to be on the mend finally.  Although at the moment he is okay one day and I think - great!  Then next day he is down again, but he isn't going back to square one all the time now which he was doing at first,  thank goodness.

Well my card today is for my brother in law who is finally home again after spending the last six weeks in hospital and rehabilitation centre.  Wheelchair-bound and stair lift necessary - but home!  A welcome relief for the whole family but I'm particularly pleased for my sister.

My Card

This is a 5" x 7" card. The image is Little Birdie from Deedees Digis and I combined two images and the sentiment together before printing it out. I used the ready coloured images because I wanted to get it in the mail PDQ.  All in all I think it took about 15 minutes to make so I was pleased with that.  I even managed to marry up the font to add his name.  The little sunflowers have been in my stash for a number of years and the leaves are from Cheery Lynn Wreath Strip.  A few amber gems finished it and it was ready to be passed on to my helpful postie to take to the sorting office.  I had to be quick because I wanted it to be there waiting for him when he arrived home.

Hope you and your loved ones are okay, but I know some people are suffering.  Big hugs to you all!!

We have had a few glorious days again so lets hope it lasts a little bit longer.  But my goodness doesn't it get dark quickly?

Well that's it from me for today.

Frogs and Snails - OSAAT Challenge # 218

Good morning to you all.  We had a fabulous day on Friday when we went to Longleat. The weather was beautiful, but as Patricia said - it was very warm having to drive through with the windows up.  We did have one hitch hiker but fortunately he didn't do any damage - unless you count peeing down the back windscreen!  He jumped on the roof, walked along the roof, and then climbed down and just perched on the passenger wing mirror staring at John until it was time to leave the monkey enclosure.  My favourite animals were the giraffes and tigers - both such beautiful creatures.

Today it is time for another card for OSAAT.  This will be the last one before we break for the summer - but we will be back in September!  The theme this week is "Anything Goes". Don't forget if you use an image from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet you could win seven digi images.  There is also a prize even if you don't use one of these images, so there is no excuse.  We'd really love to see your entry.

My Card

My card is 6" x 6" square.  Believe it or not the green backing papers are all from a Papermania Traditional Christmas Pack that I've had more than 10 years. Okay some of it can only be used for Christmas, but at least half of the pack is so useful for other things.

The image I have used is 4You by BBKakes.  It comes with a matching girl image.  I initially planned to use the little girl but I couldn't get this nursery rhyme out of my head, and couldn't really think of anything for a little girl - so it had to be the boy.  I coloured it with Promarkers.   The ladybirds were a magazine freebie from many moons ago and I found the snail image on t'internet.  I just had to add the googly eyes because they seemed to match the smiley snail image so well.

Hope you are all well and have had a good weekend so far.  Take care.

OSAAT DT - Challenge # 214 - The Big One

Hello to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  Thanks for popping by to visit.

It's time for another challenge at  Once Stitch At A Time. The challenge is Anything Goes and we would love you to join us.  If you use a digi image from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet you could win seven digi images.  You can still win a prize even if you don't use one of these images, so what are you waiting for?

My Card

My card is 7" x 7"from Anna Marie Designs.  The green tufty grass paper is extremely old stash - I bought it 13 years ago when I was doing a memory album for my dad who had recently died, which is how I can pinpoint it exactly.  The stream image at the bottom of the card is also one that I have had for ages and unfortunately  I have no idea where it is from. I coloured it with Promarkers and fussy cut it to fit the width of the card. The main image is The Big One from Stitchy Stamps and both images have been coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment tag is one I found on the internet and it really made me chuckle so I just had to use it! The fisherman's creel basket was also an internet find. I added the fish separately and hung it from a piece of thread.  In real life it is very sparkly but the picture does not show that.

Amended to add the ending.
Oops, somehow I have lost the bottom of my post.  Cut off in my prime, as it were! Anyway, here it is now.  Hope you have all had a good weekend.

Good afternoon to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  Thank you for dropping by to visit.

It is time for another challenge at One Stitch At A Time. The challenge this time is Anything Goes.  This is always popular because it is really up to you to do whatever you like, but remember if you use an image from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet  you can win seven digi images and you can enter as many times as you wish. Of course you can still win a prize even if you don't use an image from our sponsor.  So what are you waiting for?

My Card

My card is made using Steampunk Watch from Reeces Scrap Pieces. As usual my card is a neat and tidy steampunk ! Lol!  Those of you who know me also know that I just don't do grunge I'm afraid.   The base card is from AnnaMarie Designs and is  14.5 x 14.5 cms  in dark grey pearl card.  I rarely use ready made cards because I find they are just too flimsy but these from AnnaMarie are pretty good quality. The black and grey striped card is from Pennies Worth.  I used Papermania Tri-Boss embossing folder Chronology Clocks to emboss a piece of mat silver card from my bits box.   The digi image was printed onto a scrap of palest grey card and the Papermania cogs were also die cut from scraps so I will be able to play in the playground with the rest of you playmates!  The sentiment was computer generated onto the pale grey card and matted onto the dark grey pearl card.  I originally thought that I would fussy cut the watch but I made a real hash of that so I had to go with Plan B. Lol!

Well that's another male card that can go into my box.  Always nice to get some cards for the menfolk in there!

Hope you are all keeping well and have been enjoying your weekend.

Christmas Card Club No 3

Good morning to you all.  Time again for the Christmas Card Club, chosen this week by Mary. She wanted red, and to feature a heart. Well my red is pretty prominent but the hearts are a little more subtle.

My Card

Click on image to enlarge picture

I used a free digi image from Dearie Dolls and coloured it with Promarkers. I trimmed the top edge with MB Frostyville Border and used Cosmic Shimmer to add some pearls to the snowflakes. I initially used the Cosmic Shimmer on the ribbon too but unfortunately it bled so I had to replace it with pearls.  The Christmas greetings are peel offs from years ago.

I am sorry for being missing for most of the week.  With all the rain we have been having water started dripping from the top of the kitchen window. I had a lovely array of baking trays to catch it all. Lol! John used some silicone where he thought it was coming in - the bedroom window above - and it was okay for a few days until we had a torrential downpour and my goodness did it rain in!   He put the scaffolding up so he could really check it out and discovered the wood was rotting and there was quite a hole which needed repairing.  The water was coming in, running down the cavity and then ending up in the kitchen. We need the rain to hold off now so that he can get cracking on it before we need to swim out. (Slight exaggeration there!!!)

I took the curtains and blinds down and then realised that the curtains were not looking their best.  It's a south facing window and the sun had faded them so rather than put them back I decided I had to make  new ones.  One job always leads to another doesn't it?  Anyway I am well on with them now.

Hope you are all well and not suffering to much from these dreadful weather conditions!

CCC Challenge: The Nativity

Good morning.  Another two weeks have passed and it is time for another Christmas card for our little club. This time it was my turn to choose and I chose a religious theme. I think we sometimes forget when we are having so much fun - or getting so stressed!  - what Christmas is all about.  I remember my mum, a number of years ago, over hearing somebody in a card shop saying  "They are even bringing religion into Christmas now."  I think that says it all.

My Card

click on image to enlarge pictures

I always forget to photograph the inside. The vertical strip is the words of Silent Night, like the front.of the card.

My card is 6 x6 inches made from white card stock. The pearlescent backing papers are Twinkle Paper Pack from Craftwork Cards. The digi image is The Nativity  by Lil Diva Stamps at Stitchy BearDigi Outlet. Coloured with Promarkers and die cut with SB Labels 1 and Decorative Labels 1. The sentiment stamp is from Little Claire Designs, die cut with SB Lacy Circles, and the snowflakes are SB Create A Flake 5. The ribbon and lace are from my stash and I dipped the ribbon in coffee to colour it. The pearls are Hobby House.  The multi pearl in the middle of the ribbon was cream and I coloured it with Promarkers. The elements are all raised with foam tape.

I didn't intend for my card to be monochrome but somewhere along the line it just happened.  These little shepherds are so adorable. It really does bring to mind the innocence of children. I forgot to take the picture and when I eventually did it was getting dark. I'll try again in the morning to see if it comes up better if I remember!

We are having some really wild weather at the moment.  The wind is really high so let's hope it doesn't cause any damage. I really do not like wind because it can cause such havoc.  I hope you all have a good Sunday.

In The Harbour

Good morning friends and fellow bloggers. Thank you for paying me a visit today. I know how busy everybody is so the fact that you take a few minutes out of your day to come calling and leave me a comment is very much appreciated.

My Card

Click on image to enlarge picture

I have had this digi for a while but not used it so I decided it was high time it made an appearance.  Another male card to add to my box for whenever it is needed.  The digi image is "In The Harbour" from Delicious Doodles and coloured with Promarkers. I matted it onto dark blue pearlscent paper. This is a 7 x 5 card made from white card stock and then I added a mat from the LOTV Krafty Christmas Paper Pad. The blue striped paper, which I again matted onto the same dark blue pearlecent paper is from the LOTV Petal Fresh Pad. I bought this hessian stuff last year and it has been stuffed in a drawer and never used - and now this is the second time in a week. I thought it matched the fishing boat theme quite well. The anchor was on one of John's birthday cards at some stage and I cut it off thinking it would come in useful sometime - and that sometime is now.  I originally planned to add a little anchor charm, but when I looked in the box of charms it seems to have disappeared. So annoying.

Well the weather has been really wet and miserable since the weekend. But that means that in a couple of months our main well will be filling up, (it takes around 3 months for the water to permeate the rock etc and raise the water table)  and the surface, rain water, well is certainly filling up nicely! I'm thinking positively Lol!) Yesterday we attended my friend's mum's funeral and fortunately the weather was very cold but dry and sunny.

Hope you are all well.

Super Duper Teenage Daughter

Hello friends, here is the second of my teenager birthday cards. This one was for Darren to give to Charlotte. I can show them with no problems now because her birthday was on Saturday.

My Card

Click on image to enlarge pictures

I used a fancy stepper card from Craftwork Cards for this card.  The papers are digi papers which I have had for a few years but unfortunately I don't know where they are from.  They are matted onto blue pearlescent card stock.  The image is a ready coloured one from Pink Gem Designs -"Emma in Flowered Jeans", matted onto SB Labels 8 which was die cut onto the blue pearlescent card stock.  The flourish and butterflies are SB Jewel Flowers and Flourishes.  The leaves are Cheery Lynne Wreath Strip. The flowers are WOC cosmos daisies which I coloured with Promarkers to match.  The blue ribbon was from my stash and I covered the knot with Card Candy.  I computer generated the sentiment ans matted it on to SB Lacy Circles.

I think it looks quite clean and fresh looking.  Of the three I  made this is John's favourite and I think it is probably my favourite too.

I seem to be having a few problems with my blog.  My Followers pictures have disappeared.  When I went into layout it looks as if it should be there, it shows the favicon for Followers, but they certainly aren't showing on the actual blog.  Blogger can be such a pain at times, and we can waste so much time on it! Hopefully they will reappear at some stage! I'll have to get John to take a look for me - he's pretty good with computers.

Have a good day. Love and hugs from Christine xx
