Tissue Box Cover

Good morning to you all and thank you for stopping by. I really do appreciate your visit. I hope everybody survived the storms safely.   We were very lucky. Very heavy winds (our property is on fairly high ground so we do catch the wind) and torrential rain but no real damage fortunately.

My Project

I have thought about doing a tissue box cover for a while and I have finally got round to it.  I used 300 gsm white card stock to make the shell to give a good base and then navy pearlescent card for the layers. The flowers are SB Jewel Flowers and Flourishes. I die cut the flowers with white felt and the flourishes with the same white card stock. I found some blue star brads which have been in my stock for years but they look fine as the flower centres. I also added some small flowers on the top with a blue pearl in the centres. I have never used felt with dies before but it worked so well. And it was cheap felt from Hobbycraft too.

The only problem now is making sure to get the same size tissues each time. If you look on the supermarket shelves there are quite a few different size tissue boxes. When I was in Sainsburys last week these facial tissues were reduced to £1 a box so I got half a dozen to make some more little Christmas gifts.

Hope this finds you all well.

Hello Christine, love the tissue box cover, this is a grand favourite of mine but I haven't made one for a long time. Flowers diecut from felt give such a lovely soft fuzzy look, beautiful.

Hi Christine,
Glad to hear you survived intact! I love your tissue box and it has reminded me that I have a template from Creative Expressions somewhere for both a square and rectangular shaped box - must dig them out. I have two Christmas craft sessions scheduled for my Brownies after half-term, but I'm thinking that I might save this project for Mother's Day. We are making orange pomanders for one session so just have to sort a 2nd one out! Have a great day.x

Morning Christine,

WOW! this is fabulous. Looks so expensive and I adore the flowers. I bought some cheap felt ages ago with intention of making some flowers but as yet have not got round to it lol! These will make gorgeous Christmas gifts. Good job you stocked up on the tissues lol!

Love & hugs

Hello Christine, I'm so pleased to hear that you had no storm damaged, though very frightening I would've thought. The storm passed us by here completely. But been hearing on the news the awful tragedies it's caused., that's the mighty power of nature though.

Love your tissue box, thr colours are lovely. I must really try to make things like this. Did you follow a tutorial? I do like the flowers made with the felt, different.
Have a lovely day, hugs Kate X

Sure is a box to be proud of, love the super project and yes I am sure many will want to make some for Christmas gifts...
I was pleased to hear you were ok and not harmed by the storm. We actually got the storm here, flooding and lots of damage. Mainly in Sydney two hours away but torrential rain after a very hot morning...weird world.xxx

Hi Christine,
what a superb creation. Fabulous idea. I attempted a tissue box a while ago and because of my eyes and the sizes on the rulers found it very difficult.
Thank you for the link must have a go at this one sometime. If my eyes will let me.
Love all your fab flowers and design.
Lots of love. Jenny L.
