Anything Goes at Christmas Card Club

Good morning. This is our Final challenge for 2021 and it is Anything Goes.

My Card

I used a 6" card base and matted and layered with blue card stock and snowy paper from LOTV. The image is a Barbara Grey one that I have had for many years and decided to use it again. Spellbinder Labels 8 and Fancy Labels 8 were used to mat the image which was coloured with Promarkers. The snowflakes had been previously die cut and were in my box so I cannot remember whose they are. I have a feeling they are from the Works but I may be wrong.

Well that's it from me today.

Take care.

It's WINTER at IAAS

Good afternoon . It's time for my DT friends, and me, to post in a new challenge at IAAS.  Tricia chose the topic of Winter.  It was very wintry here this morning with quite a bit of frost around.

If you are here for my Christmas Card Club card I'm afraid it won't be posted until Monday.

My Card

I used one of the decoupage pages from one of the packs I brought from The Works. I used 2mm foam dots for the decoupage because I didn't want to have to pay the extra postage.  It doesn't look much in the image but in real life youcan actually see the decoupage really well.

Why not pop over to IAAS and see what my teamies have made for this challenge.

Stay safe and warm.

Wreath for Christmas Card Club

Good morning and hope you are are well.  We have had some extremely frosty morning and yesterday didn't warm up until after lunch. However, today it is bright and sunny, albeit chilly.  A lovely morning to go for a nice long walk. I chose the theme this time and as you see I have gone with wreaths.

My Card

I used an 8 inch piece of cardstock, diecut a circle for the centre, embossed and then folded the card.

I used John Lockwood dies - snow flower, poinsettia, various leaves and twigs. The sentiment is a Sue Wilson die. I used a piece of acetate sandwiched between two circle diecuts   from Crafts Too stitch hole round dies and which I embossed with a falling snow folder from Crafters Companion. The centres are Nuvo Crystal dies.

Enjoy your day.

Candy Canes or for a child at Winter Wonderland

Good  morning from a very cold and frosty Oxfordshire. Time for Winter Wonderland today. We don't have a sponsor this time so our cards are just for fun, but you still need to follow the theme which is Candy Canes and/or For a Child.

My Card

I have used an image from the Nitwits Collection "Gnome for Christmas".  There are are some fabulous images and papers in this digital collection so you are really spoilt for choice.  I think my image covers the brief - gnomes are such great fun and can therefore be for adults or children, and I also have a candy cane in there too. I just used Sue Wilson Noble Pierced rectangles to cut the image and mat.

Why not pop across to the blog and see the great cards from the rest of the team.

Take care and stay warm.

It's the beginning of the month and time for another challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.

Our challenge group is different - you can win something simply by entering. If you want the chance to win this month's featured paper pack, use BOTH RED and WHITE prominently on your card.

You simply need to follow the twist if you'd like a chance to win this month's featured digital paper pack, Vintage Damask 2: Red & White Collection (you can see a preview for this set by clicking HERE).

My Card

I have used Mice Skate from Imagine That Digi Stamps and the two papers I have used are from DDDoodles.

Take care.

MAWTT Anything but a Card

Good morning and hope this finds you well. It is  time for a new challenge at Moving Along With The Times and this time we don't want to see any cards. This leaves a whole range of crafting projects and we're looking forward to seeing yours.

My Project

I am in a Craft and Laugh group which is part of our WI. We have just starting meeting again about a month ago. We are a small group and are able to socially distance in the Village Hall where we meet. Throughout the lockdowns we were obviously unable to meet physically but some of the ladies met on zoom.  Our Village Tea Rooms was obviously closed too so last Christmas we asked if we could decorate the two windows and they were delighted. We were then asked to do an Easter theme and then a summer theme.  We have now been asked to do a Halloween/Autumn theme. The Halloween things will be coming down in the morning and we will be putting up all the autumn stuff.  This is a wreath I made along with other stuff. I used all John Lockwood dies. The community have been rally pleased with our efforts and we have had a lot of lovely feedback. I don't think it will come as a surprise if they ask to do more Christmas windows.

Why not pop over to the blog and check the  diverse projects from the rest of the DT? We would love to see something you have made too.

Take care.

Halloween at International Art and Soul

Good morning. There's a new challenge at IAAS today on the subject of Halloween, but with a little twist - we are also playing Tic Tac Toe so you need to use one of the lines and that can be vertical, horizontal or diagonal.

My Card

Tic Tac Toe Grid

I don't send Halloween cards so I decided to computer generate this card from various images superimposed onto a background. I was quite pleased with the result. I used the first vertical row.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out what my teamies have made for this challenge

Take care.

Santa's Little Helpers for the Christmas Card Club

Good morning.  It is time for another card challenge from our group and this time it is "Santa's Little Helpers".  As you can see I cheated a little because in fact Santa only has one elfin girl helping him but he seems happy about it.

My Card

This is a pre-coloured image and I just computer generated the sentiments. It was mounted onto a red base card and then a little glitter to finish it off.  A very simple flat card.

Hope you are all fit and well.

Saturday 9 October 2021

Snowman/Snowmen for Christmas Card Club.

Good morning . Time, yet again, for a card for our little group who make Christmas cards all year round which means we are not caught up in  panic mode come December.  Kate chose the theme. this time.

My Card

I have used a very old digi image, "Snowdad Family" from a company called Digi Blessings, which I think has probably folded because I was unable to find it on google search. This is such lovely smiley snow family and perfect for Kate's challenge.

I used old LOTV papers and Grungy Christmas Sentiments. I found the sparkly motif in the corner in my box of extras.  I have a feeling it is from an extremely old Spellbinders die set when they did  complementing motif and accent dies.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Winter Wonderland Pinecones and Poinsettias

Good morning.  We have a new challenge at Winter Wonderland and we would like to see Pine Cones and/or Poinsettias. Our sponsor for this challenge is Fred She Said.

My Card

I made a 6"sqauare card and enlarged the image to make a real statement and I didn't need to do much more. Sparkly centre, green mat and job done. I used Pierced Noble Squares and a sentiment die from Sue Wilson.

Pop over to the blog and see the work from the rest of the DT and maybe you will be inspired to join in.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Friday 1 October 2021

Bingo at MAWTT

Good morning.  Today at MAWTT we are playing BINGO.

If you want to play along you need to use one line of the grid and that can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal. Please say on your post which line you are using.

My Card

For my card I used the centre horizontal line and as you can see I used patterned paper, image - matching topper- and glitter which I actually mixed with flower soft to make the centres of the flowers. You can just about make out the glitter in the photo but in real life it is actually very effective. I used the papers and one of the toppers from The Paper Boutique set Evening Blooms. I love how subdued the colours are.

Why not pop over to the blog, check out the work from the DT and maybe you will be inspired to join in.

Take care and enjoy your day.

Non Tradional Colours

Good morning.  I apologise to my friends in the Christmas Card Club because I am a day late with my card. I don't understand what happened to this past week because I ran out of days - I was sure that today was Saturday!  Senior moment!!  Actually time really does seem to be whizzing past.

We were very happy to get a phone call on Friday for John to have his Covid booster next day. It was an early appointment, 8 am in the next town, but we are both early risers so it was fine.  I ma just so relieved  that he has had it.

I fell back on a Crafter's Companion Diesire Create a Card die which takes the work out of crafting and gives a quick card but with pretty stunning results.

My Card

My card is 15.5 x 15.5 cms to accommodate the layers and made from Anna - Marie Designs cardstock because I love the weight of it. I layered it onto aqua glitter card and then onto the card base.  I put the centre die to one side and  I will use it to make a smaller card later.  I stamped the sentiment with aqua ink and die cut it with SB Classic Squares.    I added three snowflakes to the corner. The two white ones were already in my die cut drawer so I cut the aqua one to layer it up.  The large ones are Marianne Swedish snowflakes and the smaller one is a punch.  All it needed then was for me to add some Hobby House pearls in the corners and away we go - job done.
Take care.

Furry Friends at Internatonal Art and Soul

Good morning.  We have a new challenge at IAAS which is Furry Friends.

My Card

I found this cute cat couple in my Greeting Card Deluxe set and I couldn't resist using it. They look really cool in their sunglasses so I just added the sentiment digitally to fit in. It was matted with an animal print paper, orange card and and then onto a black 6 inch square base card.  Easy but cute.

Hope this finds you all well.

Take care.

Challenge #117 Fancy Fold Card at IAAS

Good morning.  This time at IAAS the theme, which was chosen by me, is to show a fancy fold card.

My Card

Card Front

Inside from the front

Inside from the back

Rear of card

This folds down into a 6" square envelope but obviously will need a large stamp since it is probably too bulky for the usual stamp. Sorry it is rather photo heavy. I used papers and images from Nitwit Collections "Noah's Ark".  It was all done digitally so that it wasn't too bulky.  My great nephew is coming up to his third birthday soon and I thought this would be the ideal card for him.

Why not pop over to the blog and see the fabulous offerings from my team mates?

Hope this finds you all well.

Take care.

Poinsettias for Christmas Card Club

It's unbelievable how quickly these two weeks pass. It's time for another challenge and this time it is to use poinsettias on our cards.

My Card

Like my card last time this again is slightly smaller than A5. I used the frame from John Next Door's "Jane's Tree". The poinsettias and ivy leaves are also from JND. the sentiment die and the embossed centre are from Creative Expressions.  It came together very quickly but looks fine although difficult to photograph because of the silver mirror card.

I hope those of you in the UK have enjoyed the few last days of summer we had. Yesterday it rained quite a lot here but I don't mind- it helps to keep my well and water butts topped up. However today was again warm and sunny but I think that might be the last of summer.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Going Metallic at 12 MoC LinkUp

Good morning. Our challenge this month at the 12 Months of Christmas LinkUp is to add some metallic. If you want the chance to win this month's featured paper pack, be sure that your card features something METALLIC. Add the shimmer of metal to your card by way of metallic markers, gold or silver glitter, embossing powder, wire or metal embellishments, or through the use of foil, chrome or other metallic type textures and papers, or any other way you can think of!

Keep in mind though, that you don't need to follow the twist to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month or for a chance to win a $10.00AU gift voucher from this month's sponsor, Beccy's Place. You simply need to follow the twist if you'd like a chance to win this month's featured digital paper pack, Embossed Metallic: Christmas Edition (you can see a preview for this set by clicking HERE).

My Card

I used blue glitter paper from Decosses Dynamite Doodles for my backing. The image and sentiment are from our sponsor's "Festive Baubles". I added hanging baubles from Memory Box diecut from blue glitter card and then some metal snowflakes I found in  my stash from years ago.

Why not pop across to the blog to see what the other Sleigh Belles have made for this challenge and then check back mid month to see the work of the Merry Maidens.

Have a good day.

Under The Sea at MAWTT

It's time for another challenge at Moving Along With the Times and Zoe has chosen the theme which is Under the Sea.

This theme almost caught me out because I only have one set of stamps and papers with this theme and I used it last year.  I felt I had no other option - but then I found this image in my Greeting Card Factory programme so I was saved. My brother is Pisces so I was going to go with a male theme and pick out the blue/green colours but the lilac in the fishes and in the border called to me so I just had to go with it. When I added lilac glitter to the fishes it just looked so much like scales.

Why not pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have come up with?

Take care and have a good day.

Birthday for International Art and Soul

Two cards in a row this weekend.  These two weeks come round so quickly. It's time for another challenge at IAAS,  birthday this time, and this is my DT card.

If you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card please scroll down to previous post.

My Card

This is a 6 inch square white base card and I have used an image from Craftsuprint, but didn't use the decoupage.  I did attach the sentiment with foam pads to give it a little dimension.

Why not pop over to the blog and see my teamie's cards?

Christmas Card Club - Layers

Good morning and here is another card for the Christmas Card Club.  The theme this time is "Lots of Layers" and it was chosen by Lorrraine.

My Card

My card is almost, but not quite, an A5 card but I chopped a bit off the side for symmetry. As you can see there are certainly plenty of layers .

I used matte and mirror silver card stock, from Crafter's Companion, which makes it very difficult to photograph but at least it doesn't look black which sometimes happens.

Dies used: John Next Door - Frame from Calling Angels and snowflakes are Baroque Snowflakes.

Presscut- Notched Rectangles

Sue Wilson - Let it Snow die.

The weather has been quite autumnal for the last few days. I do hope you are all well and enjoying life.

Take care.

Sunday 15 August 2021

CAS for International Art and Soul

Good morning.  The theme this week at IAAS is CAS. I have an extremely simple card to show for my DT card today.  I somehow mixed up my challenges and realised this morning that I had made my card to fit the next challenge.  Luckily the theme is CAS because  was able to make my card extremely quickly.

If you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card please scroll down to previous card.

 My Card

The longest part of making this card was the time in locating the embossing folder I wanted to use. It is absolutely donkey's years since I used it.  It's an old Cuttlebug folder and the embossing is amazing.  It is so deep it is like the current 3D embossing folders that are popular now but in those days 3D folders hadn't even been thought of.  The stamp is from the Nitwit Collection "Bloom With Grace" from Crafter's Companion.

Why not pop over tot he blog and check out the cards from my team mates?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Christmas Candles at Christmas Card Club

Good morning, and it's time to show our cards for the Christmas Card Club. The theme, chosen by Mrs A aka ValeryAnne, is Christmas candles.

Card #1

This is a 6x6 inch card and a digi image. The sentiment die is Sue Wilson.

Card #2
.

This is an A6 card made from sage green Limetree Crafts cardstock. The backing paper is from a digi pack I got from The Lovely Studio and is called Snowberries. The candle die is Crafters Companion together with some very old Spellbinders.

Card #3

This is another A6 card using another digi image from my stash. I computer generated the Sentiment.

Hope this finds everybody well.

Take care.
