Recycling

Good morning. Yes I'm back again - three days in a row.  This time it's my DT card for International Art and Soul.  We are a "Just For Fun" challenge, but we do have some lovely badges for the winner and the Top 3. The challenge this time was to recycle. Every year after Christmas I put to one side those cards which are just too nice to just dump and I vow I will do something with them yet rarely do.  Anyway, this time I have! The large snowflake with it's little metal charm dangling in the centre came up trumps!

My Card

Recipe
7" square basecard - Anna Marie Designs
silver card - from stash
Snowflake Lattice e/f - Sue Wilson
snowflake punch - Woodware

I decided to keep it CAS and it worked well. I managed to stop myself adding things!  It's so easy to think I'll just put this on, then something else and on it goes....!  The snowflake is so sparkly that I punched the snowflakes from silver glitter card.

Please pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the DT have come up with and maybe you will be inspired to join in.

Take care and enjoy what remains of the weekend!

Snowy Mountains and Skies for CCC

Good morning.  I am back on schedule with my card for our little club.  It is due on Sunday but as usual I am posting a day early because I have a DT post due then - unlike last time when I was a week late!  For shame!

Kate is our lovely host this time and wants to see snowy mountains and skies. I have managed to make two cards so if I can keep this up my stock will soon grow.  But it's early days so I won't count my chickens just yet!

My Cards

Recipe
7 x 5" white base card
blue card - Lime Tree Crafts
Falling Snow e/f - Sue Wilson
Frosty Border die - Memory Box
word die - Britannia Dies
image - from  Greeting Card Factory Deluxe
gems from stash

Recipe
6" square base card
image - in my image folder for years!
copper cardstock - old stash
backing paper - LOTV (disc)
pierced banner die - Sue Wilson
sentiment - computer generated

I added lots of glitter - it's for Christmas after all.  I think I read somewhere that it is illegal not to add glitter to Christmas cards ... lol!

If you want to see what the other girls have made you will find their details in my sidebar.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Christmas Tribute Challenge

Good morning.  Well we woke up on Monday and the snow had gone thank  goodness.  We did have snow flurries throughout the day but nothing to write home about and now it seems a distant memory.  Roll on spring.

It is time for a post at Winter Wonderland today.  If you are a regular follower of our challenge blog you may be aware that Eileen, our blog owner and co-ordinater, sadly died suddenly and unexpectedly last month. We are carrying on the blog as we feel she would want us to do so, and  this post is in tribute to Eileen.  Both design teams will be taking part. The theme is "Anything Christmas Goes."

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - from Hobbycraft Linen card stock
Merry Christmas die - Sue Wilson
Holly Sprays - Sue Wilson
Noble Pierced Squares - Sue Wilson
Holly Vine - Memory Box
Poinsettia - Marianne Designs
red gems - stash

I used the linen card stock for the base card and all the die cuts. My intention had been to leave it all white but then decided to add the holly berries.  A very easy card to put together but I think it looks effective.

Our sponsor this time is L C Designs who are offering three digi images to the lucky winner.

Please pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have come up with.  We would love you to join our challenge.

Take care.

Christmas Card Club

Hello and I hope you are all keeping warm.  We had quite a bit of snow Friday afternoon and overnight so it made for quite a hairy trip for the newspaper.  We are very hilly here and there are two different routes to the next village which is about three miles away. The most direct route is the worst because it it up and down and twisty and twiny - and doesn't get gritted! The other route is a little further but they have a bus from that village and the bus route goes up that very steep hill so it is gritted.  No contest!  But I was glad to get back home!

This post is a full week late.  It is for the Christmas Card Club but last week was such a busy one I missed it!  To make up for it I have made three cards - and very helpful for my stash.  They are all fairly simple and flat because these will be posted.  The theme, chosen by Rachel, is Festive Foliage. I'm sorry to be so late but it was a great challenge Rachel.

My Cards

The first two are made using images from the LOTV Art Pads. The final one is made with an image from my Greeting Card Factory.  This one is very flat indeed - in fact one layer!  I have been experimenting adding different borders to make it look as if there are lots of layers.  I also added the greeting to the layer before printing it out.

Anyway, that's all from me.  Take care.

"Love Is In the Air" At A Brand New Challenge Blog

Good morning.  I hope you are all well. My followers  may remember that I was on the DT of OSAAT (One Stitch At A Time) for a few years and sadly it closed  its doors in November.  Boo hoo! However, we decided that we really didn't want to lose the friendship that had built up amongst the teamies so we got together and formed International Art &Soul, which is a Just For Fun challenge blog - no sponsors just a theme and a chance to claim a winner's banner for your blog. Jane, our coordinater, put in an ordinate amount of work to get the blog up and running, so many thanks to her! We really hope you will hop on over, check it out and maybe join in the fun.

Our first Challenge is Love Is In The Air and this can cover so much that I'm sure you'll be able to make a project to suit - anniversary, wedding, engagement, Valentine, the list is endless.

My Card

Recipe
6" square white base card
lavender pearlescent card - Crafter's Companion
backing papers - LOTV ancient stash
topper - LOTV
lace scrap  - from stash
border punch - X Cut
chipboard hearts - ancient stash

I have been clearing out my craft room so that John could put additional shelves in and hopefully make me a little tidier ... lol!  It's amazing how much stuff you find that you had totally forgotten about.  I also passed masses of stuff over to a friend who runs Rainbows - and there will be more I'm sure.  I'm going to be ruthless!!!

Anyway this cute little elephant and the chipboard hearts were found so I made use of them for this card. Isn't he adorable?

Well that's all from me today.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Ring o Roses

Good morning.  I hope youare all well. My cards are like buses - you wait for ages then three come along at once!  Or in this case it is four in a row because I have another two cards to post in the next few days.

Today it is time for MAWTT and Wendy has asked us to put a ring of flowers on our project. Ideally she would like to see roses but she will be happy to see other flowers. As you can see I decided to decorate a box I had in my stash.

My Project

box lid

Recipe
round box - Crafter's Companion store
papers - Lili of the Valley
rose leaf strip - Britannia Dies
Classic scalloped circle - Spellbinders
Roses - Wild Orchid Crafts.
Lace and pearls - local haberdasher

Please pop over to the blog and see what my teamies have made and maybe you will be inspired to add your project to the challenge.

Well it's a wild wet morning here today, maybe I'll sit by the fire and craft!!

Take care.

Penguin Pals

Good morning. and I hope this finds you well.

This is my DT card for the second challenge at http://do-allkreatives.blogspot.co.uk/

My Card

Recipe
6" x 6" square base card Hobbycraft card stock
blue card stock - LimeTree Crafts
 Penguin Pals - Sponsor's image
papers - LOTV Frosty Christmas (discontinued)
trees - Memory Box Frosted spruce and fir
Merry Christmas die - Yvonne Creations
Promarkers to colour

A nice simple flat card so fine for postage.  I have decided that all my cards that need to go via Royal Mail will be flat because the cost of stamps is just so high.

Please pop over to the blog and check out the creations from my teamies. We are sponsored for this challenge by Sheepski Stamps  who are offering the winner three digi stamps.

Take care.
