Celebrate Autumn with IAAS

Good morning. Another frosty night again but, like yesterday, it already looks as if it is going to be bright but chilly day.  Nice change from rain.

Apologies to Jane and the team at IAAS because I am late posting my DT card. The theme, as you can see, is to celebrate Autumn.  When I remembered the quote on this image I decided it would be absolutely perfect.

My Card

I made a 7" x 5" base card using kraft card, and matted it with a lovely reddish card from my stash. There is a very subtle glimmer to the card which doesn't come over on the picture. This card is the exact shade of the maple trees in Sainsbury's car park!  There are masses of maple trees here and at this time of year it is a pleasure to drive into the car park. I  found the poem on line sometime ago and downloaded it knowing it would come in useful at some stage. The acorns and leaves are John Next Door "Acorns and Leaves".

Hope everybody is well and that you have a great day planned.

Take care.

Polar Bears or Penguins for Christmas Card Club

Good morning. Just a quick post from me.   I have had rather a trying week so I only have one card to show today. The theme, chosen by Shaz, is to use pengins or polar bears.

My Card

Recipe
ice blue glitter card - Crafters Companion
white glitter card from stash
polar bear dies - Britannia Dies
evergreen trio - Memory Box
sentiment die - Sue Wilson
snowflake die - The Works.

I made a side stepper card this time by using a piece of cardstock 7" x 11" which when cut, scored and folded becomes 7" x 5.5".  I love the Mama Polar bear and her little cubs marching along beside her. I cut them from plain white cardstock but everything else was cut from glitter card - which was very difficult to photograph. I tried using flash but that was just too bright and glaring so this was the best of a bad job.  The weather has been so bad and it's been pretty dark all day.

Hope you are all well and managing to stay dry!

Take care.

Autumn Colours For MAWTT

Good morning. Time for another challenge at MAWTT. Donna has chosen our theme which is Autumn Colours.

We have had quite a week already so far.  First something nice - went up north to spend  few days with my family and had a super time.

Then the other things - John's car broke down and is in the garage waiting to hear the bad news. We had no internet for more than 12 hours - amazing how much you rely on it!  Then our friend  (John's very close friend) was admitted to A&E in the night with chest pain and shortness of breath.  They don't think it was a heart attack but not totally sure so he has had a lot more tests and he's now at home awaiting results.  He looks very unwell though and still extremely breathless.  And a very dear friend of mine died a few days ago. I'm hoping that is the last of the bad stuff! Anyway, back to business.

all card stock from my stash.

I rarely use orange but I felt this card needed the brightness to pick up those lovely trees.  The image looks so much better in real life.

Why not shoot across to the blog and see what the rest of Team B have made for this challenge and maybe you will decide to join the challenge.

Take care and have a good day.

Halloween at IAAS

Good morning to you all.  Just a very quick post this morning.

Lsst night I went to a concert at Warwick Arts Centre to hear Aled Jones and Russell Watson on the final leg of their twenty concerts.  They still have two to do in Ireland.  What a fabulous night! The singing was superb and a great variety of classical, popular (not pop) and hymns. Very funny too at times. There was also a terrific guitar solo playing John Williams "She was beautiful" - and it truly was beautiful.

Anyway, back to business. This is my DT card for IAAS.

My Card

I really don't do Halloween but rather than sit out the challenge I decided to rise to the challenge.  This is a very simple card made by adding several digital images to a black background and added an orange digital border. I then printed it out and matted it onto white card and attached it to a black base card.

The IAAS DT have made some great projects so why not pop over and check them out?

Have a good day.

Nativity at Christmas Card Club

Good morning.  My goodness this past year has flown by. Only two more challenges after this.  At least my stock of Christmas cards has been building up.

Rita has chosen the theme this month and, as you can see, it is Nativity.

My Cards

This  card  is 7" x 5" and cut from card from my stash.  I used an embossing folder from Crafters Companion on black card and used chalks to give it a bit of colour.  I almost threw my chalks out a few months ago because it is donkeys years since I have used them. I added a diecut star using a Sweet Dixie die. I computer generated the sentiment but I shall replace it because the font needs to be larger I think.

The rest of the cards were made using "Elegant Ornaments " from Imagine That Digis. There are three images plus seven sentiments in the set.  I made six CAS A6 cards  although the only sentiment I used was the "Peace" one.  I computer generated the others. I used Linen card from Hobbycraft and black card from Rymans. For the final card I made  it 6" square and printed the image larger. I used the same black card and linen card and the spotted paper was a free digi from my stash. The black pearl swirl was something else that had been in my stash for years.  I'm not too sure that it goes with the spotty paper but once it was on it had to stay, or risk damaging the paper in trying to remove it.

Well that's it from me Hope this finds you all well.

Take care.

It's Merry and Bright at Winter Wonderland

Good morning to you all and I hope this finds you all well. This post was due yesterday but my new computer was delivered late yesterday morning and I had no access to my computer until the evening while John was setting it up and transferring stuff over from one to the other.  That is an ongoing task as there is a lot to sort.  However, at least I have access to emails, blogger etc. And that is when I discovered that although I thought I had scheduled my post it certainly didn't appear.  I didn't realise this until evening so I decided to delay posting until this morning.

My Card

Recipe
6"square base card - cut from ivory Card Craft UK card
backing papers - "Handmade Holidays" by Simple Stories
digi images - Sherry West
square notched corner dies - Presscut
snowflake dies - The Works
Promarkers to colour.

This is my DT card for Winter Wonderland.  We have a new sponsor this month Sherry West Art and she is offering "a surprise " for the winner!

Why not pop across to the blog and check out what the rest of the team have made with the images Sherry supplied and maybe get some inspiration.

Take care.

12 Months of Christmas - Sensational Santas

Good morning. Another month and another challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  The theme this month is Sensational Santas and we are sponsored by Limited Runs Digital Stamps

This is is a fabulous way to build up your stash of Christmas cards.  You could even win a prize simply by taking part.

My Card

Recipe
6"  card base - cut from Craft UK Ltd card
papers - Santa Stops Here Decosse's Dynamite Doodles
digi image - Santa Coffee Cup Limited Runs
coloured with Promarkers
sentiment die - Sue Wilson
red cardstock - Rymans

I cut the front of the card down to 2" but  I think if I do this style again I will probably make the centre portion larger.

The optional theme this month is to add a Santa as the focus of your card in order to win a $10 dollar voucher to Limited Runs and to be in with a chance to win the full pack of Santa papers. However, you do not have to follow the theme to enter the challenge, and you will still be in with a chance to win one of the papers from the pack.

Take care.
