Humour at IAAS

Good morning and I hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine.  I am very late with my DT post for IAAS.  My card was done in time and it was on the IAAS blog in time - I just totally forgot to post it on my own blog. I'm losing the plot.

This is a very quick card for my nephew to accompany his "real" card when the time come comes. He is an audiologist so it is appropriate and I'm sure will make him smile.

My Card

I computer generated both the front sentiment and the one I used inside.

Why not pop across to the blog and check out the projects from team mates?

Take care and happy crafting.

Flowers and Butterflies at IAAS

Good morning.  A new challenge has been posted at IAAS and the challenge is to use flowers and butterflies on your card.  pretty easy huh?

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
papers - Butterfly Ballet The Paper Boutique
Topper  - Butterfly Ballet as above
bird dies - the Works

This card started life as an ordinary square card but I realised after I had adhered the topper that it was upside down! I cut the back off the card and made into an easel card instead. I fussy cut the large butterfly and the roses on the base stopper from one of the papers in the pack and that was it. A very pretty card all courtesy of the Paper Boutique - and a little help from me.

I think this one might well "wing" it's way up to Co Durham to my sister.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out the super work from my team mates?

Take care and stay safe.

Christmas Card Club Challenge #10

Good morning.  I can scarcely believe it's time to post another card for our little club.  It doesn't even seem like a week since the last one and certainly not two.  I know some people are struggling with lock down but I'm finding that time is just whizzing past. I guess there might be some slackening of the rules but it makes me rather nervous. However, being in the over 70's age group we were told from the outset that it would be 12 weeks for us and I don't find that a problem at all. In fact John and I have discussed it and we shall carry on regardless in exactly the way we have been  doing. John hasn't left our property since the problem first started which is about 11 weeks I think. We have plenty of land for him to be outside and he is working really hard with his landscaping project.  He calls it his Corona Virus project.  When he went through more than six months of chemo a few years ago having a project got him through it and he is dealing with this in the same way.  Keeps him from under my feet ... lol! 😃😉

The challenge this time is to show a Christmas door or window, and as you can see I'm showing a window.

My Card

Recipe
7" x 5" tent fold card
die and e/f - Winter View- Crafters Companion
Pine twig dies - Sue Wilson
Fern dies - Britannia Dies
Sentiment die - John Next Door

Tonic Nuvo drops

I bought this Crafter's Companion set a couple of years ago when they were extremely reduced in pric so a definite bargain.  It includes the window die, the embossing folder wall and two different tree stamps.

Well that's it from me today.

Take care and stay safe.

Out of Sight

Good morning and hope this finds you all well. This is another card I have sent to my sister.  My plan had been to ensure she had a card on the same day each work so there was something for her to look forward to .  However, the change in postal services means that is not quite possible now.  She does get her card every week but never on the same day, even though I post them at the same time. She does receive it though, which is the main objective, and she is always thrilled.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 4.25" card - made from linen card.
paper - scraps from my box
sentiment - computer generated
Nuvo drops on flower centres

A very CAS card.  I computer generated the sentiment twice on to a piece of landscape linen card stock then cut it in half, giving me two cards. I then just added the paper to the left side with a toning border.  Very simple but looks quite effective, and gives a nice message.

Because it was so easy I then decided to do the same one for the vulnerable ladies in my WI. I just used various papers and sometimes added a paper border and on  others I decided to use up some of the peel off borders which have been in my stash since Adam was a boy!

Well that's it for today. Stay safe and well.

In doing so you will be eligible to win this month's paper pack. However, just by entering you could also win the prize from our sponsor and this time it is Ike's Art.

My cards are like buses - none for ages then three in a row!

Favourite Colours at Winter Wonderland

Good  morning and I hope you are well.  The new challenge has started at Winter Wonderland and the theme is to use your favourite colour combination. We are sponsored by All Dressed Up.   I odn't really have a favourite colour combo for Christmas cards but I do think blue always seems to give a cold icy feel but I| have never teamed it with yellow before.

My Card

Flowers for Moving Along With The Times

Good morning and hope you are all well.  It's time for another challenge at MAWTT and the theme is flowers.

My Card

Recipe
7" x 5" white base card
lemon pearlescent card - from stash
image - Birdhouses LOTV
e/f - Spellbinders
banner die - Sue Wilson
sentiment - rub on (extremely ancient stash!)

This was last weeks' card for my sister.  My brain seems to have gone into lock down too because my mojo is definitely not doing very well right now and my cards are all fairly simple.

The post is taking longer to get to it's destination but I do understand why because my postman explained.  Their work stations are so close together that it is not safe for them.  Instead they have split and half of them come in for the early morning hours to do some sorting and when they go out on their rounds then the the rest of the staff come in to finish off the sorting and then go out later. Obviously it is now not possible for them to sort all the mail before they leave and that is one of the reasons why it is delayed. Plus absenteeism for people self isolating etc. At least that is the new temporary system in my area.  I know some people are complaining but these people are carrying on working for our benefit and we should be thanking them and all the others - shop assistants, pharmacies etc, - for putting themselves at risk for us.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out what the rest of the team have made for teh challenge.

Take care and stay safe.
