Christmas Card Club Challenge # 4 - Snowy Trees

Good morning friends, crafters and fellow bloggers.  Thanks for dropping by to visit today.  Well another fortnight has sped by and it time to share a card with the rest of our little Christmas Card Club.  It is Mary's turn to choose and her choice is Snowy Trees.  Now this is not the card I intended to make.  I have a lovely stamp which is actually called Forest and I had everything ready to go - and then my stamp disappeared from my desk.  Unbelievable!!!! After a very long search I eventually gave up because time was marching on and I needed to make a card. In the end I settled for two pre-coloured digis from Pink Gem and merged them.

My Card

Recipe
Images - Winter Fence and Snowy Hugs from Pink Gem Designs
Background Papers - Traditional Christmas from Papermania
Create a Flake 4 - Spellbinders
 Snowflake punch - Xcut
Pearls from stash

The card is so simple it speaks for itself.  I didn't add a sentiment because the paper does that for me.  I added lots of glitter to the trees, hats and gloves although it barely shows in the picture.  I also used some 3D snow effect on the fence posts to add a little dimension.

If you want to see what the rest of the girls have done then you will find their contact details in my right sidebar.  Thank you for this lovely challenge Mary and  I hope you will pop back in a few days to see "Snowy Trees - Take 2" ... lol!

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend.

By the way, I found my stamp so I will make the card I had originally planned and post it in a few days.  You know what these cling stamps are like - it had attached itself to the back of a die pack which was also on my desk and I just kept moving it around.  It came to light when I was filing away my die in the box and it dropped off as it rubbed against another die.  Grrr!  Ah well, at least I have found it, although I knew it wasn't really lost because one minute it was there and the next - poof!

Good morning Christine, brilliant card, love the image, colours and great design.
Glad you found your stamp, so frustrating when things go "walk about"
Yesterday mine was a flower petal I knew I had punched out. John found it still in the punch!!
Have a good day

A gorgeous card Christine for the theme this time showing lots of snowy trees. It's very frustrating when things go missing and you know they can't be far but still cannot find them, however now you have an extra card for your stash, all good.

Glad you found your stamp. I have found them actually attached to the back of a plastic ruler before now. and that's always my first port of call when things go missing!! This is a super little card. The idea of merging images goes way over my head. Hugs Mrs A.

Hi Christine I haven't been around the blog circuit for a while, the time seems to fly from week to week. You have made a lovely selection of cards since I last visited your blog, I'm glad there is someone else like me who buys such gorgeous stuff, puts them away and forgets what she's got. x

Don't these stamps just have a way of sneaking off on us? I had a different idea from what I ended up with as well, and used a different stamp set than what I'd intended! I love the look on this one, so it's all's well that ends well this time. This is such a cute, fun interpretation of the trees, lots of snow & delightful little girl hugging her Snowy friend. Great card, and I love it! Big hugs & TFS

Hi Christine,
fab card.
I love everything Pink Gems do so this is especially nice to me.
Great designing as always.
I think I own the fence digi, as it was part of my prize I won on the Pink Gem Challenge.
Hope all is well with you and John.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hi Christine
Love this festive treat. The 3D snow effect is great.
I'm sure there is some sort of craft vortex that exists around our desks, moving stash from where we put it lol!
Best wishes.

Marvellous card Christine. I am glad you found your stamp. I knocked one into the waste bin some time ago and of course didn't realise until it was too late.

I had a little giggle at the story of the missing stamp. Yes, I have had that happen too. I have lost a "Hello" stamp for over a year now and every time i take anything out I turn it over and look for errant stamps! lo

Your card is very pretty. I can see the sparkle on the trees...it looks great!

Sorry I am missing yet again...down with bronchitis and it has worn me out!
