Heartfelt Sympathy

Good morning to all my friends in Blogland and if you arrived here by chance I hope you like what you see.  I would love it if you were to leave a comment and then I can visit you in return.

On Sunday we had some very sad news. John has very little family and he is very close to the two cousins he has.  Sadly his cousin's husband died very suddenly on Saturday.  It has come as such a shock to us all and John is very upset for his cousin and her family.   John asked me to make a nice card for Pauline - as if I would make any other; but I know what he means.

My Card

Ingredients
7 x 5" tentfold card made from ivory pearlescent card
Ivory and taupe pearlescent card - Jellybean Crafts
M-Bossabilities Garden Lattice e/f - Spellbinders
French Collection Auvergne die - Sue Wilson
Wreath Strip - Cheery Lynn
Roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
Cala lilies - very old (ancient!) stash
Ribbon and pearls - stash
Sentiment - computer generated

It took me a long time to decide what I wanted to do because my mind was a complete blank.  However,  I got there in the end.  I really love these French Collection dies from Sue Wilson.  I would love more but it can start to get silly if you're not careful. We end up with so many dies and rarely use many of them.  I'm trying to be a bit more discerning now.

Hope everybody is fit and well.  Take care.

Sorry to hear your sad news Christine. Gorgeous card. I buy very few dies now but when I do they are mainly Spellbinders as I find I get more use from them.

Christine, sorry to hear your sad news. Easier to except when expected, but a sudden death is so hard. Your card is beautiful, and yes we can keep adding dies to our collection, but it is silly. Hazel x

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's cousin's husband, Christine. Another reminder that we never know when it's our time and how precious each minute is. Your sympathy card for Pauline is breathtaking and it's obvious it was made thoughtfully and with lots of love. She will be comforted by it. Hugs, Darnell

Beautiful card! I love the dies and the calm colours you chose.
It is always so hard to make a Sympathy card, but you have made a gorgeous one. I am sure John and his cousin loved it.
