A Classic

Dear friends, followers and fellow crafters I apologise for my absence. A few weeks ago my beloved younger sister and best friend was diagnosed with cancer and passed away only 10 days later.  We had hardly got our heads round the diagnosis before we lost her.  I am struggling at the moment and not able to craft  so I do  hope you will bear with me for a little while longer.

This is a card I made very quickly for my husband's birthday.  He very nearly didn't get one - and he wouldn't have minded this time.  We had to cancel his birthday lunch.

My Card

Recipe
A5 card made with green pearlescent cardstock
Sage green pearlescent cardstock
DP - "Father Knows Best" LOTV (discontinued)
Candi - Craftwork Cards
Linen e/f - Crafters Companion

The sage green looks silver in the picture. I wasn't able to make the card I had planned but this was a quick option.  John has a classic Datsun 240Z which he has had forever - well, I think he bought in 1977 when it was 2 years old. I wasn't able to take a picture of his own car since it was in the garage so i trawled the internet until I found one the same colour.  Luckily he was thrilled with his card.

Yesterday I met with Ang, aka Mrs Duck, and John Lockwood at the craft show at the Motorcycle Museum and we had a lovely time.

Thanks for calling in.  Take care.

Christine, I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your sister. Sending you some of these ((((((hugs))))))
Your card is brilliant, maybe not what you had in mind, I am sure John fully understood and loved it just the same. Your John was lucky to get a card, mine didn't!! We went off on holiday the day of his birthday, I forgot to pack the card n his suitcase. I have kept it, it will be fine for next year ha!ha!
Glad you had a good day and met up with John and Ang.

Christine, I started leaving a comment on the card above then got pulled away! Don't know if it posted, but I now don't have the option to comment. How are you doing? It must still be so very difficult and painful, I wish I could say something that could help but I know there's nothing. Glad to see you are managing to make cards, all be it not as many. That went for me totally and is only just returning...slowly. Love your two makes, both brilliant and hopefully just making them helped you in some way, Jx
