My Card

I always forget to photograph the inside. The vertical strip is the words of Silent Night, like the front.of the card.
My card is 6 x6 inches made from white card stock. The pearlescent backing papers are Twinkle Paper Pack from Craftwork Cards. The digi image is The Nativity by Lil Diva Stamps at Stitchy BearDigi Outlet. Coloured with Promarkers and die cut with SB Labels 1 and Decorative Labels 1. The sentiment stamp is from Little Claire Designs, die cut with SB Lacy Circles, and the snowflakes are SB Create A Flake 5. The ribbon and lace are from my stash and I dipped the ribbon in coffee to colour it. The pearls are Hobby House. The multi pearl in the middle of the ribbon was cream and I coloured it with Promarkers. The elements are all raised with foam tape.
I didn't intend for my card to be monochrome but somewhere along the line it just happened. These little shepherds are so adorable. It really does bring to mind the innocence of children. I forgot to take the picture and when I eventually did it was getting dark. I'll try again in the morning to see if it comes up better if I remember!
We are having some really wild weather at the moment. The wind is really high so let's hope it doesn't cause any damage. I really do not like wind because it can cause such havoc. I hope you all have a good Sunday.

Hi Christine, firstly I love this adorable nativity Christmas card, to me the true meaning of Christmas being brought up a strict catholic...
secondly, I don't expect people to comment all the time, we do have a real life and I know how busy that can get, so don't worry.xxx
Morning Christine,
A lovely image and beautifully coloured.

I love everything on your card, the sentiment, the image the papers and I would not have thought you had put the ribbon in coffee it looks so good, I would have expected it to streak or something but its lovely. Beautiful card.

PS I think we have the same wind here! I thought we would end up with a tree in the garden last night. We have some BIG pottery tubs on the patio and some of them had blown over! (Thankfully they weren't damaged).
Oh Christine this is a really gorgeous card! the image is the cutest and I love the effect you have created. We had thunder, hailstones and wind last night it wasn't nice at all. Stay safe huggles Sue xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Christine - me again, so glad you have entered the challenge at OSAAT this week, such a beautiful creation.
Big hugs to you Sue Pxxx OSAAT DT
Fantastic card Christine. I love the traditional cards.
Hi Christine
Wonderful card and you are so right that folk sometimes forget about what's behind the festivities. I'm not a religious bod but its a shame that its so commercialised. Same as Easter. Kids think its all about bunnies and chocolate. . . . .everyone should know, chocolate is not just for Easter lol!
Washing is bobbing about in the breeze and sunshine as apart from a small shower, its been lovely here today.

Hi Christine,
what a stunner of a card. Love everything about it. Fab digi image, and such a great idea to colour your pearls.
Will be sending your dies back soon promise. lol.
Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Oh wow this is gorgeous !! Hugs xx
I love this card, and I think your monochrome colors are perfect for this sweet little image. I'm looking for this challenge, as I totally agree, we need to remember exactly why this holiday is celebrated. In our world today, it seems to have been lost in commercialism. Saw the challenge at Hazel's, trying to find the link to submit something. You did a fab job on your card, and hope you didn't have any wind damage. TFS & Hugs (and thanks for theme too!)
Gorgeous card Christine...I totally agree with you about Christmas....the first 5 letters in the word Christmas is the most important don't you think.... Hugs May x x x

Wonderful card Christine. Love the monochromatic look to it!
The snowflakes are so gorgeous with a bit of a shimmer to them!
My Mum will be so glad you chose this theme as she does not consider it a Christmas card unless it has at least an angel on it!
Will post my card after DH goes to bed...we are both shattered and going to put our feet up for a few hours and watch some British TV...Vera, I think.
We were up at Silly oclock and off to America. I got so many fabby bargains there and at the big Christmas open house yesterday at my local scrapbook store. I may just have to do a shopping haul post! teeeheee
Good morning sweetie, this is just gorgeous :0)) Hugs Pops x x x
Oh Christine, I'm so delighted that you have entered this gorgoeus Christmas card in our challenge this week else I might not have seen it which would have been very sad. Your monochrome colouring, embellishments, lovely digi and backing papers - complete with the carol 'Silent Night' have made this one very special Christmas card that reflects the True meaning of Christmas and certainly one that I shall carry in my mind this coming Christmas. Good luck in our challenge this week. Ingrid xx (OSAAT Team)
Wow Christine! This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the vintage feel this color palate gives Christmas cards. Thanks for joining us at Inky Impressions for our Traditional Christmas challenge. Be sure to pop by the blog Wednesday to see if you won and to join us for our next fun challenge!
Beautiful card Christine, love the colouring and image.
I really despair at Christmas so many people totally forget what the whole thing is about.
Looking forward to meeting you on Friday.
Happy crafting

Hi Christine!
This is such a gorgeous christmas card! Loving the nativity image it's lovely!
I agree Christmas is not the same. Supposed to be about , Jesus, friends, family, love, fun and spending time together now it's all about money.
It really does make me frustrated at times lol.
Hugs xx
Hi Christine your card is stunning! Such pretty papers and the way you have decorated the inside is fab!!

Wow Christine! You have been busy lately and you made such beautiful cards!!
I love them all but especially this one. So gorgeaous with the real Christmas scene. Every year I am building up the whole scene in our livingroom with selfmade puppets, a stable which we bought in Austria and the tree ofcourse. I am busy for more than 2 days and in a few weeks it's happening again. So nice now for the grandchildren (and for us ofcourse!).
Have a nice day,
Lia xx
This is such a beautiful card Christine - I am sure whoever is lucky enough to receive it will be delighted!! I love the muted colours...and the various methods you've used to tone the embellishments - coffee dipped ribbon is now on my list of things to try!! Thank you for sharing at One Stitch At A Time and good luck in the challenge.
