Using Dies for IAAS

Good morning.  Can you believe I am here for the second day running?  This is actually a cheat card - what I laughingly call a "Blue Peter" card... lol!  I actually made it last year but haven't yet shown it on my blog.  Since it fit the brief for the current challenge at International Art and Soul I thought I would use it for my DT offering  as I had nothing else.

Please scroll down if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card.

My Card

Recipe
7" x 5" tent fold card - cream pearlescent cardstock
(Crafter's Companion)
Gold mirri card  - in stash
cream and gold backing paper -  Craftwork Cards
Card Creator (? which) - Spellbinders
aster dies - Heartfelt Creations
rose leaf die - Britannia dies
pearls - from stash
ribbon - local haberdashery

I am not too keen on the backing paper because it is so busy, but the recipient liked it so that's what counts.

Please pop over to the blog and see what my teamies have made for this challenge and maybe you will be inspired to join in. We are a "Just For Fun" challenge blog so no prizes I'm afraid, although we do have some great banners for the winners. Sometime I think we  need a little bit of a push to get us motivated (I need a huge shove at the moment!!!) and if we have a theme to follow it helps.

Anyway, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Christmas Bells

Good morning.  It's time for our Christmas Card Club challenge once again.  I have missed the last two challenges.  I really want to get back into crafting but haven't had the heart really but this seemed like a good time to make the effort.  Margaret chose "Jingle Bells".  I hope she feels my Christmas Bells is okay.

My Card

Recipe
7" square card - Anna Marie Crafts
Green pearlescent card - from stash
Ring Out Those Bells die - Crafters Companion Die'sire
Classic Oval dies - Spellbinders
Sentiment - JustRite

I haven't used this Create A Card die for a few years and I thought it would make a very easy starting point for me. I stamped the sentiment and die cut it then rubbed some green ink over to tie in with the ink used on the large die.  A wooden embellishment and some red pearls were all it took.

This is not actually due until tomorrow but I will be posting a card for another DT then (what I call a "Blue Peter card!" you'll understand what I mean if you look in again tomorrow!))

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

80th Birthday

It's time for another challenge for Team A at MAWTT.  Our host is  Carole and she asked us to make a card using age as the focal point. Fortunately for me, since I am still not up to crafting since I lost my sister, I have a few cards made before she became ill.  This one fits the brief perfectly.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card made from black adorable scorable cardstock
Spellbinders Etched Alphabet dies
Sue Wilson -Stitched Flags
Silver mirri card
Silver Rub on greeting

I used a second piece of the black card to die cut the numbers and then layered it onto the base card with foam tape. It was very difficult to photograph and not easy to see  but in real life it is quite effective. In the picture it all looks very flat.  A few gems finished it off.

Please pop across to the blog and see what my teamies have made for this challenge.

A Classic

Dear friends, followers and fellow crafters I apologise for my absence. A few weeks ago my beloved younger sister and best friend was diagnosed with cancer and passed away only 10 days later.  We had hardly got our heads round the diagnosis before we lost her.  I am struggling at the moment and not able to craft  so I do  hope you will bear with me for a little while longer.

This is a card I made very quickly for my husband's birthday.  He very nearly didn't get one - and he wouldn't have minded this time.  We had to cancel his birthday lunch.

My Card

A5 card made with green pearlescent cardstock
Sage green pearlescent cardstock
DP - "Father Knows Best" LOTV (discontinued)
Candi - Craftwork Cards
Linen e/f - Crafters Companion

The sage green looks silver in the picture. I wasn't able to make the card I had planned but this was a quick option.  John has a classic Datsun 240Z which he has had forever - well, I think he bought in 1977 when it was 2 years old. I wasn't able to take a picture of his own car since it was in the garage so i trawled the internet until I found one the same colour.  Luckily he was thrilled with his card.

Yesterday I met with Ang, aka Mrs Duck, and John Lockwood at the craft show at the Motorcycle Museum and we had a lovely time.

Thanks for calling in.  Take care.
