Mountain Border Card

Good morning and welcome. Wasn't that sky incredible on Monday?  I had been out walking and on the way back it was getting darker and darker and the sun was getting redder and redder.  When I got into the house I had to switch all the lights on - it was like night time! Spooky!

My Card

Recipe
7" x 5"  base card - kraft cardstock from Hobbycraft
natural linen cardstock -  Pink petticoat digi paper
embossing folder Argyle- Die'sire  Embossalicious
mountain border digi - Eureka stamps
spruce die - unknown ( lost the packet lol)
sentiment - computer generated

It was my brother in law's birthday a couple of days ago. It is the first one since he lost his wife (my sister)and I needed to make sure it got there in time. Our local post is not the most reliable. I tend to give my cards etc to our postman who then puts it straight into the sorting office and it gets there the next day without fail.  I just have to be sure to have them ready when he comes.

I only partly coloured the image because I didn't want it to look too busy and overpowering. I think it works a treat.  And my nephew let me know that, sure enough, it got there next day. Thanks Postman Tony!

Well that's it from me today. I need to get baking. It's my turn to provide cake for our WI Craft and Laugh group to morrow.

Take care!

A great card Christine. I'm sure it was much appreciated. It will be a difficult time with your BIL. I'm well Into making Xmas cards and have just made my Mums card which as you can imagine is very difficult as it's usually for both my parents. Heyho we will keep, our chins up hey. Take care my fab blogging buddy. X

Your red sky sounds very spooky. Another blogger had told me about this, and I've never seen such a phenomenon. Your card is lovely, just right for this particular birthday. I like the way you've done the image, keeping it very subtle. The design layout is just right for this image, and I like the dimension of the brown pine branches overhanging. I hope your BIL is managing ok. These 'firsts' are difficult, indeed. TFS &Hugs

This is a lovely card for your Brother in Law. We have a lovely post lady too who will sign for our recorded letters and put through our door if were out. Saw that sky and sun as well. Quite a strange sight to behold. Battening down the hatches now for storm Brian to hit our shores tomorrow. Hugs Mrs A.

Hi Christine
A smashing card for Mike. Hope that he coped with the day as the first of everything is always difficult.
Yes, Monday was very strange. I too had lights on at 11am but I did get washing out and dried lol!

You made a lovely card for your brother in law.
I heard about the 'strange' skies in the UK, because our daughter Yvonne and her family was in London at that time and the same happened over there. She showed us the photos she took. WE have been in Austria last week and did not see anything of this over there, we just had the most wonderful weather you could wish! Coming home: rain again.....

This card is lovely and perfect for your brother-in-law. I am so sad to hear that he lost his wife and you lost your sister. I lost my sister over 12 years ago and I still miss her every day!

Hugs,
Chriss
