Do Something Digital

Good morning.  I'm here today with my DT card for International Art and Soul. Our remit this time, as chosen by Tricia, is to do something digital.  Now this can be using a digi image, or digital papers or maybe actually making a totally digital card, which is what I went for.  Nothing like challenging yourself!!!

Please scroll to the previous post if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club entry.

My Card

I saw a tutorial to make a one layer digital card - using Microsoft Word.  Now this really was a challenge but I persevered and this is how it turned out.  It was not intended to be a wedding card but this was the only image I could find that had a toning background rather than stark white.  I was actually very pleased with it. However, it's not something I will be doing often - I like using die cuts and embellishments too much!! Mind you, no problem with postage costs!

Why not pop over to the blog and see what my teamies decided to do for this challenge?

Take care and keep warm!!

Christmas Baking

Good morning to you all and I hope you are all doing okay.

It's the second challenge of the year for our little Christmas Card Club and this time it was Maureen's turn to choose the theme. She chose "Christmas Baking" and this was where I had to cheat a little or maybe I just used a little artistic license ... lol!!! Somebody had to bake those mince pies on the little guy's plate didn't they?

I used a 7"x 5" base card from Docrafts.  The matted layer was cut from the backing card from the packaging of an embossing folder I bought before Christmas because it toned beautifully with the check in the backing paper which is from Trimcraft "Me To You".  Topper is LOTV and the dies are Sue Wilson Noble Pierced Squares and Stitched Flags.  Sentiment is computer generated and the red pearls are from one of the pound shops.

I hope you all enjoy  the weekend and keep warm!!

Take care.

Embossing at Winter Wonderland.

Good morning.  It is so cold here and yesterday we had a sprinkle of snow which disappeared very quickly thank goodness.

I'm here today with my DT card for Winter Wonderland.  I am hosting this challenge and my theme is "Use Embossing - Dry or Heat".  A nicer easy challenge I'm sure you will agree.

CAS at MAWTT

Good morning and I hope this finds everybody well, albeit rather cold if you are in the UK.  The challenge today at MAWTT is CAS, as chosen by Amy.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card base - using purple cardstock
Deco Swirl embossing folder - Crafter's Companion
Star Flower dies -  John Next Door
Sentiment - computer generated

I have had this embossing folder for a few years - along with a couple of others - and never used it.  It worked perfectly for this challenge. I like the way the top flourish  is embossed and the lower one is debossed.  I know some people find CAS cards very difficult but I quite enjoy it.  However, it wouldn't be something I do on a regular basis because I love adding die cuts and embellishments.

Why not pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have made for this challenge?

Well that's it for today.  Take care.

White on White

Good morning to you all and I hope you are not all freezing out there.

It is my turn to choose the theme for our first challenge of 2018 for International Art and Soul and as you can see my choice is White on White.  Now I do know that some people struggle with this concept so it is okay to add a smidgen of colour.

My Card

Recipe
White card stock - Hobbycraft
Create a card Winter Wonderland die-  Crafters Companion
White glitter card - Hobbycraft
Poinsettia die - Britannia Dies
Ribbon and gems - stash

I decided to make a Diorama card using white card stock.  This is such an easy card style to make  yet looks so effective. I used white glitter card on the back fold and also on the side strips which give a little dimension. I really  love the Crafter's Companion Create a Card dies because you can make a card so quickly - ideal when you have lots to make.

As an after thought I popped a battery operated tealight in just before I took the photo. It doesn't show up well in the picture but in reality it looks very effective.

Why not pop over to the blog and see what my team mates have produced for this first challenge.

John and I went to St Albans yesterday to spend some time with his cousins and had a great day catching up and generally having a good old chat. Good food too so a bonus!

Well that's all from me today.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Christmas Card Club Challenge 1

Happy New Year to you all and I hope you enjoyed the festivities.

It's the first challenge of the year for our little Christmas Card Club.  Margaret is hosting the challenge and she wants to see Gnomes, Pixies or Elves.

My Card

I decided to opt for a very CAS card and I really like how it turned out. The size is 5" x 7".  I printed out my pre-coloured image onto to shiny linen card stock and matted it onto red card stock. I love the image which I found on Pinterest because I had nothing to suit the challenge.  This year it has been decided that we can do "Anything Goes" if we don't have anything suitable, but for me the challenge is being pushed out of my comfort zone, so I went searching and this image is fabulous! All I did then was stamp the sentiment into the corner and I decided at that point that less is more. I was going to add red pearls or card candi but decided against it and, as I said, I really like it.

The challenge is not actually due until Sunday so please come back then and check out what the other girls in the club have come up with.

We are just leaving to go to St Alban's to have a belated celebration with John's family and we are really looking forward to it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
