Two Patterned Papers for Christmas Card Club

Good morning. Time for the Christmas Card Club ladies to show a card with two patterned papers.

This is a 6" square base card and I have used papres from a Papermania pack from many years ago "Home for Christmas".  I have some scraps left because at the time  bought two pads because I liked it so much. Sadly there is hardly any left at all now. The sentiment is from Little Claire - again very old. I used Britannia small rose die and the leaves are also Britannia but they were in my stash box so not sure which they are. The sweet image is an LOTV topper

Hope you are all well and managing to keep warm.

Take care.

Snowman/Snowmen for Christmas Card Club.

Good morning . Time, yet again, for a card for our little group who make Christmas cards all year round which means we are not caught up in  panic mode come December.  Kate chose the theme. this time.

My Card

I have used a very old digi image, "Snowdad Family" from a company called Digi Blessings, which I think has probably folded because I was unable to find it on google search. This is such lovely smiley snow family and perfect for Kate's challenge.

I used old LOTV papers and Grungy Christmas Sentiments. I found the sparkly motif in the corner in my box of extras.  I have a feeling it is from an extremely old Spellbinders die set when they did  complementing motif and accent dies.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

IAAS A Form Of Transport

Good morning. I am here this morning with my DT card fopr IAAS where the theme is A Form Of Transport. I am still on the trail of using up old stash and this vintage car is from an LOTV Art Pad.  I did so love those pads!

Please scroll down to previous post if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card.

My Card

I also used some ancient Card Candi which matched perfectly. I have a feeling the sentiment is from either Hunkydory or Craftwork Cards. It looks gold in the image but is actually silver. The cogs are from a Papermania die.

Take care and enjoy your day.

Out to Dinner at IAAS

Good day to you all. It's time for another challenge at IAAS and this time we are going out to dinner, as chosen by Hazel.

My Card

I have used a Simply Print from Lili of the Valley which I have had for a number of years but felt it fitted the brief.  After all, even the birdies have to eat. This is a 5" x 7" card and matted with Presscut Stitch Dot Nest rectangles. A few snowflakes and a little glitter finished it making it a very simple flat fold card for postage.

Why not pop over to the blog and see the different takes on this challenge from my team mates? I think you'll find it interesting.

Take care and have  a good day.

Use Dies for Christmas Card Club

Here we are for our final challenge of the year for our Christmas Card Club. As you can see the theme is to use die cuts and was chosen by Shaz.

I am posting  a day early because I have a DT card to post tomorrow.

My Card

This is a 6" square white base card. The image is a really sweet stamp from LOTV, Angels With Crib, which I have had for years and not used for so long. I coloured it with Promarkers. It was then die cut it with SB Lacey Circles. I used Memory box Snowflake Corner and a Carla Craft punch for the snowflakes. The backing papers were from an extremely old C&C CD. I then just blinged it up with Papermania Shimmer Dots. If in doubt use lots of bling and glitter - you cannot go wrong with that at Christmas!! I didn't use a sentiment because of the script paper.

For The Boys

Good morning and I hope this finds you all well.  This is my DT card for MAWTTSharon has chosen the theme this time and her choice is "For The Boys".

My Card

Recipe
A5 card base -bronze card from stash
ribbed old gold card - from stash
toppers  - old stash
embellishments - old stash

I made this card a while ago but I am sure I never published it and I have gone back a long time on my blog trying to find it. I remember having to make it it in a great rush because I had the birthday of one of John's friends and needed something in a desperate hurry so that he could take it down to his friend;  hence all the toppers and peel off greeting!   I just love those nautical toppers.

Well we had the much needed rain last week and my water butts are full again but I think they will soon be empty again because there's been nothing since.  But the grass is just starting to green up again.
Please pop over to the blog and find out what my team mates have made for this male challenge.

Take care.

Love and Hugs Christine xx

Christmas Traditions at IAAS

Well here I am for the third day in a row - and the third Christmas card too.  This is my DT card for International Art and Soul. The theme of  the challenge is Christmas Traditions so I chose  sending Christmas cards. Initially I was going to use carol singing then remembered that was the theme of the Christmas Card Club.  Three Christmas cards in a row in such heat.  Crazy!!

If you are looking for my CCC card please scroll down to previous post.

My Card

Recipe
white card stock for base - Anna Marie Designs
red card stock - Rymans
patterned paper - Home For Christmas: Papermania
topper - Lili of the Valley
large poinsettia die - Creative Expressions
small poinsettia - Marianne Designs
sentiment die - Creative Expressions

I have been playing around with fun fold cards this week and this one is called an Impossible Card.  Clearly it isn't impossible just clever cutting and folding.  John was amazed when I showed him and he was sure I had stuck two pieces together.  It really does look very effective and especially since it is made from a single piece of card 7" x 5".  It folds totally flat for posting and the finished size is 7" x 6" but this depend on the size of the topper you apply.

Well that's all from me today.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take care.

Christmas Baking

Good morning to you all and I hope you are all doing okay.

It's the second challenge of the year for our little Christmas Card Club and this time it was Maureen's turn to choose the theme. She chose "Christmas Baking" and this was where I had to cheat a little or maybe I just used a little artistic license ... lol!!! Somebody had to bake those mince pies on the little guy's plate didn't they?

I used a 7"x 5" base card from Docrafts.  The matted layer was cut from the backing card from the packaging of an embossing folder I bought before Christmas because it toned beautifully with the check in the backing paper which is from Trimcraft "Me To You".  Topper is LOTV and the dies are Sue Wilson Noble Pierced Squares and Stitched Flags.  Sentiment is computer generated and the red pearls are from one of the pound shops.

I hope you all enjoy  the weekend and keep warm!!

Take care.

Christmas Gifts

Good morning.  I hope none of you are snowed in!  We are not quite at that point yet but the way the snow is continuing to fall I think it might not be too long!  The joys of living in such an isolated spot! Still, the cupboards and fridge are stocked so if the worst comes to the worst we won't go hungry!!

Well this is our final card of the year for our Christmas Card Club but we will be back in the New Year.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card - Hobbycraft card stock
die and embossing folder - Sue Wilson
topper - LOTV
pearls - from stash

Yesterday was the first day of the Christmas  Tree Festival which we. the WI, had been asked to organise in the village church. We have 24 trees of all shapes and sizes - real trees, artificial trees,
a lampshade tree, twig tree - you name it and it's there. It's lovely to see how imaginative people have been, which is what se asked of them.  Yesterday we served coffee and mince pies for a couple of hours and next Saturday we will be doing the same thing. It's quite a lot of work at such a busy time but so worth it when you see people's reactions.  I got there and back with a wee bit of difficulty yesterday so I'm glad the major snowfall didn't happen then!

Keep warm and safe - a day to huddle round the fire I think!!

Take care.

Things Beginning With "B"

Good morning.  Well right now the sun is shining brightly but since I am writing this post in advance, and scheduling it, I have no idea what it will be doing when it is published. It's time for another challenge at MAWTT today.  Diane Louise is our host this time and she has asked us to use things beginning with the letter "B" on our projects.

On my card you will see the colour blue, birds, blossoms, two lots of bunting, one on the image and also die cut bunting, a butterfly and a birthday banner - and if you look very closely you will see a tiny bee in the background as well as a bow on the birthday parcel.  I guess I could stretch it and call the pearls "beads" ... lol!

My Card

Recipe
7" x 5" white base card
topper - LOTV Art Pad (disc.)
bunting die - Joanna Sheen Signature dies
Noble Pierced Rectangle dies -Creative Expressions
punched butterfly
pearls - from stash

On my card you will see the colour blue, birds, blossoms, two lots of bunting, one on the image and also die cut bunting, a butterfly and a birthday banner - and if you look very closely you will see a tiny bee in the background as well as a bow on the birthday parcel.  Maybe  I could stretch it and call the pearls "beads" ... lol!  I die cut the bunting in white card and then just coloured it with Promarkers to mimic the bunting in the image.

Please pop over to the blog and see what the rest of Team A have come up with.  Hopefully you will be inspired to join in the challenge.

Take care and have a good day whatever you plan to do.

In An English Country Garden tra la!

Good morning to you all and hope you are well.  It's time for a challenge at MAWTT and Mrs Duck is our host.  If you are a regular to our challenges you will know that Ang (aka Mrs Duck) always gives us the verse of a song and asks us to make a card using something from that verse.  As you can see today's song is "English Country Garden".  There have been many versions of this traditional English folk song but my favourite has to be the one by Jimmy Rodgers in about 1962.  I hope you are all singing along with me!!

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
Paper - from my stash ? make
image - LOTV Art Pad
roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
leaves - Woodware punch
Circle and petite scalloped circle dies-Spellbinders

This is not just random flowers!
You need to use something that features in the first verse of
the song, which is as follows:

English Country Garden
How many kinds of sweet flowers grow
In an English country garden? I'll tell you now of some that I know And those I miss you'll surely pardon Daffodils, heart's ease and flox Meadowsweet and lady smocks Gentian, lupin and tall hollyhocks Roses, foxgloves, snowdrops, and forget-me-nots In an English country garden

Now this is not the card I had planned to make but  events overtook me and I had to get it made in a hurry. Mrs Duck knows my reasons and understands why it is so simple.  I sponged Pan Pastel Light Gold on the topper because I didn't like the stark white against the backing paper and I think it toned it down just enough.

Please pop over to the blog and see what delights my teamies have produced.  I can't hear you singing yet!!

Take care and have a good day.

For Men

Good morning to you all and thank for dropping by.  My cards are definitely like buses aren't they?  None for ages then three in a row!!

Please scroll down if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card.

Today's card is my DT card for International Art & Soul and the theme is "For Men". I've gone to the younger end of the male spectrum because my card is for my great nephew who has just turned 13 so he is officially a teenager.

My Card

Recipe
7" square base card - Anna Marie Designs
backing papers - LOTV
image - Kenny K
star die - Spellbinders
sentiment - computer generated

Just a fun easy card and ideal for a new teenager.  Harry liked it - but I have it on good authority that his 8 year old sister thought it "very cool"!! You've got to smile haven't you? I think Kenny K made some great boys images so it's a shame they have stopped trading now.

Why not pop over to the blog and see the creations from my teamies and maybe join in the challenge? We are a Just For Fun challenge but we do have great badges for your side bar - or perhaps I should say "cool" badges ... lol!

Hope everybody is well and getting lots of crafting done.

Take care.

Mistletoe and Wine

This is my post for our Christmas Card Club and I am a day late so huge apologies to Rita, who chose the theme for the challenge.  As you will  have guessed from the header she chose Mistletoe and Wine.  This certainly posed a challenge for me!

My Card

Recipe
7" x 5" white base card
Image - LOTV Art Pad (discontinued)
Stickers - from stash
Sentiment - computer generated

I was really struggling  here.  I had images of  mistletoe and images of wine but nothing of the two together.  Whilst rummaging through some ancient stash I found some cardstock stickers of wine, grapes etc and then realised this LOTV image had some mistletoe in it.  Bingo!! I used one of the Art Pad images and added a border to it together with the little heart.  I computer generated the sentiment and then added a bottle of wine and a wine glass.  Problem solved!!

I think this makes an ideal male card because I find even Christmas cards can be a problem for the male species!! And I like the CAS aspect of the card too.

Well a quick post today but I hope everybody is well and enjoying the extended weekend.

Take care!

Woodland Mice

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers. Sorry for my absence but I have been extremely busy with WI stuff. Tysoe WI, of which I am secretary,  celebrates its' 100th birthday this month.  We have a whole year of celebrations planned but it means I have been tied up with so much!  We have our Centenary Dinner next Wednesday evening and it will be nice to relax over a nice meal once we have finished all the prep.  Well, the meal is being catered but we need to get all the  gift wrapping, name places , table plans etc done prior to the event. Rather than be boring and just have table numbers, since the WI motto is "Inspiring Women" we decided to call each table by the name of inspiring  British women.  We had fun sorting out who to choose - ranging from Emmaline Pankhurst, the Suffragette, to Queen Elizabeth II, who is also a member of Sandringham WI.

Anyway, I'll keep you informed on what we get up to.

It is time for another DT card for MAWTT today.  This time it is Emma's choice which is "Into The Woods",  She has broadend this out to things which you might see in the woods - trees, flowers, birds, animals etc. I found this lovely topper from Little Claire in my stash and it seemed perfect.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - Rymans
blue paper - Lime Tree Crafts
pierced Noble Squares - Sue Wilson
backing papers - LOTV "Petal Fresh" (disc)
sentiment stickers - stash.

I just love the image - so sweet!  Please pop over to the blog and find out what my teamies have found in the woods.

Hope you have  a good day.  Take care.

Snowy Mountains and Skies for CCC

Good morning.  I am back on schedule with my card for our little club.  It is due on Sunday but as usual I am posting a day early because I have a DT post due then - unlike last time when I was a week late!  For shame!

Kate is our lovely host this time and wants to see snowy mountains and skies. I have managed to make two cards so if I can keep this up my stock will soon grow.  But it's early days so I won't count my chickens just yet!

My Cards

Recipe
7 x 5" white base card
blue card - Lime Tree Crafts
Falling Snow e/f - Sue Wilson
Frosty Border die - Memory Box
word die - Britannia Dies
image - from  Greeting Card Factory Deluxe
gems from stash

Recipe
6" square base card
image - in my image folder for years!
copper cardstock - old stash
backing paper - LOTV (disc)
pierced banner die - Sue Wilson
sentiment - computer generated

I added lots of glitter - it's for Christmas after all.  I think I read somewhere that it is illegal not to add glitter to Christmas cards ... lol!

If you want to see what the other girls have made you will find their details in my sidebar.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Spring Flowers At MAWTT

Good morning. MAWTT have another challenge today and it is the turn of Team A.  Gail is hosting this time and she wants to see some spring flowers.

Papers - First Edition "Daydream"
Daisies - Britannia medium rose die

Well spring is here, although some days don't feel very spring-like I have to confess.  This card makes me feel cheerful though with all these lovely spring flowers and the birds making their nests.  I used this image a few weeks ago (here) but this time I have chosen very different papers and colours so it looks very different - hopefully!!

Please pop across to the blog and check out what the rest of the DT have made and maybe it will encourage you to join us in the challenge.

Have a good day.  Take care.

Baubles For Winter Wonderland Challenge

Good morning.  Well spring is definitely here, although some days it is hard to tell when it is so cold and windy.  However, I think there might be more good days than bad -or maybe that's me carrying a half full glass rather than a half empty one ... lol!

I had a great evening out last night.  Three friends and I went to a charity fashion show at the Charlcote Pheasant Hotel which was run by  Shipston Rotary Club.  Great start with wine and canapés before the show commenced.  Super clothes but a tad pricy!!!  Anyway, it's always nice to have a night out.

Time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and this time our host is Carol C who has asked us to show baubles on our projects..

My Card

In The Garden for MAWTT

Goos morning to you all and hope this finds you well.  This should have been posted yesterday for MAWTT so I'm a day late unfortunately.   To be perfectly honest I totally forgot about it and that is something I have never done before since I started to blog.  I have already apologised to Zoe, our hostess for this challenge, and to Wendy, our leader.  The theme is "In the Garden" but mine is more like a garden patio!   Please pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the A Team have come up with.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card - white card from Rymans
green and violet card - Lime Tree Crafts
image - LOTV Art Pad "English Charm"
Noble pierced recatngles - Sue ilson
banner die - Joy Crafts
pearls from stash

A very quick and easy card to put together and it is going into the box for my sister.  I make her a stash of a variety of cards so that she always something to choose from when she needs something.

Had a good time at the NEC yesterday although it does seem to get smaller everytime and lots of the major players missing again..  I always prefer to attend on the first day because it is quieter, but yesterday was extremely quiet!  Great to have a really good catch up with Mrs Duck, and we set the world to rights.

Last night I was out with our WI group being a vandal!  We were "yarn bombing" the village green and had great fun.  John said if we got ourselves arrested he wouldn't bail me out ... lol!!  We obviously couldn't go out until late evening because we didn't want to be spotted and get caught in the act, but by 10:30 pm it was getting pretty chilly. It all looked pretty good in the dark but I can't wait to go out today and see it in daylight.  We also decorated the railings of the Primary School with knitted bunting and pom poms.  The school is not actually  right in the centre of the village but off a street backing ontothe fields, but we wanted to amuse the children when they arrived at school this morning.

Well, I hope youall have a good day whatever you have planned.

Get Creative Challenges # 5

Good morning to anybody who has actually dropped by.  I hope you have all been enjoying the festive break with your family and friends.  This post is scheduled, because my plan has been not to go onto the blog until the New Year. At the time of typing this I'm not sure whether I will have been able to stick to that ... lol!

Today's challenge at  Get Creative Challenges  is to use a bow, 2 patterned papers and 3 brads/buttons.  My image is Eleanor and Pickles  "Decking The Halls" which you can find HERE at our sponsor Lacy Sunshine.

My Card

Recipe

Papers - LOTV Snow Princess
Holly Vine die - Memory Box
Holly Corner die - Cheery Lyn
Pearls - Hobby House
Tiny brads and ribbon for bow - from stash
Sentiment - Computer generated.
Promarkers

I had originally planned to use some small red buttons as the holly berries but turns out they were not samll enough.   I found some very tiny brads in my stash but they were not the right colour so I used nail polish to colour them.  As I had already stuck down the holly corner I had to remove the legs from the brads and then stick them down. Nice and easy to put together and this is my first Christmas card for 2015 !!!

Please pop across to the blog to see what my teamies have created and we would love it if you decided to join us.  You have the chance to win three digis of your choice from Lacy Sunshine - you'll be spoilt for choice I can assure you.

OSAAT DT Card - Challenge # 208 - Use A Digi

Good day to you all. Well I am very excited today because this is my first posting as a DT member of the One Stitch At A Time challenge blog.  I have previously won a couple of OSAAT challenges so I'm really happy to now be part of the team.  Challenge 208 is "Use a Digi" and if you use an image from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet you can win seven images used by the DT. Don't forget to check out the OSAAT challenge blog where you can see all the cards posted by the DT and hopefully it will inspire you to join in.
My Card

My card is 7 x 7 inches and the digi image is Crafty Honeys Painter from Scrappers Delight. I coloured her with Promarkers and die cut using SB Resplendent Rectangles. The sentiment came with the image and was die cut with SB Lacy Circles. The flowers are MB Fabulous Phlox, which I haven't used for ages. I had forgotten how pretty they are. The papers are from the LOTV pad Promises.
I have used quite a few pieces from my bit box so I might pop over and join in the fun at the playground with you regular playmates.

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday and that it finds you all well.
