Sympathy Calla LIlies

Good morning. Gosh it is so cold!  Makes you want to just stay indoors and keep warm.

This is one of those cards that you don't want to make and now I have three to make.  My brother in law died a couple of days ago.  It is so difficult for my two nephews because they only lost their mum, my beloved sister Jeanie, last year. What a lot for them to go through in such a short time.

This morning I heard that one of my WI friends lost her husband yesterday so that will be my third card to make.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - Rymans
Papers - Coosty Creations digi papers
Sentiment die -Mini Sentiments  Creative Expressions
Edge punch - Fiskars

showing inside of card.

These papers are old stash but really lovely.  I used a couple of different ones to cover the front and then covered the inside too.  I digitally changed the size of the paper to form a topper and printed it onto card stock. I haven't used my edge punches for so long because we seem to automatically turn to dies these days.  However, I think I might be using them more now I have re-discovered them. A few pearls finished it and it was ready to give to my post man, who is good enough to collect my stamped mail for me.

I will show the others at a later stage.

Take care.

Merci

Hi. It is so dark and overcast out there you would scarcely believe that it is almost June! I have just popped in with  a simple thank you card today.

I've used up old stuff for my card. The purple pearlescent card was a piece from my bit box, as was the lilac strip. I used Fiskars Corner and Edger punch and the Bracket edge punch on them. The flowers I found in the back of a drawer, the 3D Merci embellishment I have had for years and the ribbon was old stash.

Sorry for such a quick post - but it was either a quick one or not at all!

Hope everybody is well - especially all of you who have been suffering various nasty viral bugs!

Hello

Hello everybody, from a bitterly cold and blustery Oxfordshire!

My Card

My card today is another quick and easy make. I was having   a look through my stash and came upon these Papermania flowers. I knew I had some scrap bits to match  from the Lincoln Linen collection so I cut a couple of pieces in different patterns and used Fiskars Threading Water punch on one of them. I ran another piece of scrap through Couture Creations Damask embossing folder. Finally I used a rub on for the greeting and attached  it to a 5x7  white card. Nice and easy but also, I think, quite effective.

I'm glad I don't have to go out today in this awful weather so maybe I'll spend some time sorting  out my craft stuff. Or maybe I'll just make another card, therefore creating even more mess! LOL! You know that saying about "Creativity is messy - and I am very creative!" ? I think it was meant for me!!

Have a good day everybody.

Pink And Silver

Happy Sunday morning everybody, and thank you for stopping by.  My card today started when I came across a scrap of Hunkydory card in my bits box.

(The sun was reflecting off the silver but I won't complain about seeing the sunshine!)

I cut it  into three strips and matted them with silver mirri.  I then layered them onto pink Bazill basics, matted that with mirri and then attached it to a 5x7 inch pink card. I cut another strip of pink Bazill and mirri to mat and used the Fiskars bracket punch to edge them both at the bottom. I wrapped round some silver mesh ribbon and some narrower pink organza ribbon which I tied into a bow and then attached it towards the bottom of the card. The stamp is Lili of the Valley  stamped onto a small pink labels 18, mounted onto the next size and then  the corner edges from Parisian motifs attached at each side. The silver mirri  is a bit bling-y, but because of the silver on the Hunkdory cardstock I didn't  really  have a lot of option. I did make the mats quite narrow, although the  label is a bit in your face! I usually try to use three colours (don't ask me why, but I've got this thing about the rule of three) but couldn't fit another one in, unless you count the black ink!

Well I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thank you for all the lovely comments you leave about my cards I really do appreciate them all.
