Christmas Card Club # 7 - Feature A Creature

Good morning , although it's perhaps not so good really.  Where has spring gone? It's the first day of British Summertime and it's like winter.  I think the north of England and Scotland are forecast to have it pretty rough unfortunately. The right weather to be showing a Christmas card ... lol!

Well Maureen chose our topic today and as you can see, she asked us to use a "critter", or more than one, on our card this time.  I have a polar bear and a baby penguin in my image.  I am trying to keep the majority of my Christmas cards flat and so everything is glued down and nothing raised on foam tape.

My Card

Recipe
15 cms square base card - Rymans
Dark blue card - very old from my stash
Snowflake Lattice e/f - Creative Expressions
Starburst Die - Joanna Sheen Signature die
Decorative Labels One - Spellbinders
Image - LOTV topper
Star gems - very old from my stash

A very easy card because if I am to be perfectly honest the days ran away with me and I had to make this very quickly last night. Photo taken with flash because it was late and dark, so not the best but I'm sure you get the idea.

Take card and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Get Creative Challenges #11

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers.  Hope everything is well in your little world.

It's time for another challenge at Get Creative Challenges The challenge is to use a diecut - must be one of the easiest challenges going because so many of us use diecuts in our projects. Please think about joining us for a chance to win three images of your choice from our sponsor Oddball Art.

My Card

Recipe
Oddball Art digi - Big Eyed Bedtime Pajama Girl
Papermania cardstock- to make 6" square card.
LOTV - Pastel Dreams (Nitwit Papers)
Spellbinders - A2 Bracket Borders One
Prima - paper flowers
Pearls from stash
Rub On Sentiment - very old stash
Promarkers - to colour image

I found it difficult to get a decent picture.  The colours on the card are so pale and the sun is very bright - but I am not complaining about that!!!!!  The last couple of days have been lovely if a bit chilly at times.

Well, that's it for today.  Take care.

OSAAT Challenge # 233 Anything Goes ... With Nature

Good afternoon to you all and hope you are all well.  Had a great day at the NEC on Thursday (not Saturday as I previously stated!! Early Alzheimers!!) with Mrs Duck. Unfortunately Sue and Graham had to cancel at the 11th hour!   However Ang and I had a great day and I spent more than I had intended - but since I spent hardly anything at the November show I didn't feel too bad! We also met up with John Next Door, Sue Wilson and Julia Watts so had a nice chat.

Well another two weeks have gone by and it's another challenge at One Stitch At A Time.  This week the challenge is Anything Goes ..... With Nature.  My card uses the digi image Belle and it is available from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet   I really love using quotes in my work and when I first heard what the challenge would be I had quote in mind that I wanted to use.  I was very fortunate to be able to choose this image from Beary Dust which fits the image as though designed for it.

My Card

Recipe
6ins square card base - made from Papermania cardstock
Daisy patterned papers - free Nancy Watt papers (very old stash)
Green card - First Edition "Daydream"
Floral Corner die - Spellbinders
Pearls - from stash
Sentiment quote - computer generated
Colured with Promarkers.

This was very easy to put together. I printed the image onto green cardstock and then minimally coloured with Promarkers.

We would love you to join in with our challenge this time. The subject "nature" can be interpreted in so many ways so I'm sure you will be able to make a project to fit. This is the prize you could win.

Take care and enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Scenic View

Good morning to all my friends, fellow bloggers and anybody who just happened along by chance.  If that is the case then I hope you like what you see and I would love for you to leave a comment.  Happy St Patrick's day to any Irish bloggers - and Happy Birthday to my brother!

My card today is for a young man who needs a little love and encouragement.

My Card

Recipe
Our Daily Bread Designs Sentiment - Rubber stamp "Keep Climbing"
Creative Expressions - Rubber stamp "Scenic View"
Creative Expressions die - Auverne
Die'sire Embossalicious folder - Argyle
Oak leaf and maple leaf punches
Green pearlescent card from stash

Base card is a 5" x 7" tent fold card made from Papermania card stock. I used the letter press technique with the embossing folder and Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy ink pad.  I used the same ink to stamp the image and sentiment and then die cut it with Sue Wilson's Auverne die from the French collection.  I really like the monochrome look of this card. I still struggle with male cards but I'm happy with this one.

Hope you are all keeping well.

Christmas Card Challenge # 6 - Anything Goes

Good morning to you all.  I  hope you are all feeling well and that all you ladies are being spoiled by your husbands and offspring on this Mothering Sunday.   Spring is definitely just about here - although she keeps teasing us I think by giving us good days then bad.

Gosh, these two weeks fly round so quickly.  This time it was Sylvie's choice of "Anything Goes".  I actually made two different cards since I couldn't make my mind up.  So now I have an extra one which I will show later.

My Card

Recipe
 Heartfelt Creations - Sentiment Stamp
Creative Expressions - Snowflake Lattice embossing folder
Spellbinders - Opulent Ovals
Spellbinders - Classic Ovals large
Spellbinders - Foliage
Marianne Creatables - Poinsettia die
Pearls from stash

My base card is 5" x 7" made from Papermania card stock. The sentiment was stamped with Encore Ultimate Metallic Blue.  I also used the same ink to colour the card stock because all the blue card I had was totally wrong. I then added a smudge of ink to the poinsettia and some Diamond Dust. A few pearls finished it off.

Well that's it from me for today but I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Christmas Card Club Challenge # 5 Poinsettia

Good morning friends, crafters and fellow bloggers.  Hope you are all well.    Happy St David's Day to any Welsh crafters looking in.   Hard to believe it is March already!!  It's time again for another card for the Christmas Card Club.  This time Margaret asked us to use poinsettias on our card, but we could use any colour we chose.  I never used to make traditional red or green cards, preferring more contemporary colours but this last year or so I am really loving using red - so here it is again!

My Card

Recipe
The Range - white card
Rymans - red card
Spellbinders - Parisian Accents
  SB - A2 Bracket Borders 1
Creative Expressions - Snowflake Lattice embossing folder
Wild Orchid Crafts - Poinsettias
Cheery Lyn - Wreath Strip
Dreamees - Sentiment stamp
Ribbon and pearls - stash

My card is 5 x 7" made from 300 gsm card.  It was layered with red and white card. The top layer was run through the embossing folder after die cutting it, as was the red layer. Pearls were added to the flowers and tiny pearls to the centres of the flowers on the red embossed layer. I cut two of the Parisian Accents to give a shadow effect.

If you would like to see what the other club members have made you can find their contact details in my right side bar. If you are keen to get a head start on making your Christmas cards and you would like to join us please get in touch.
