Children at Christmas for CCC

Good morning and time for a new challenge for the girls in the Christmas Card Club. Kate has chosen the theme this time and as you can see she wants to see cards for children. As usual I am a day early with my card.

Card #1

Recipe
5" x 7" base card
red card stock - Rymans
Elisabeth Bell image -The Hobby House
lacy circles die - Spellbinders
sentiment - computer generated

This card was in my box from a while ago just awaiting an image and sentiment so it was a five minute job.

Card #2

Recipe
6" square base card
digi image - Polkadoodles
snowball barrel - internet
lacy circle die - Spellbinders
sentiment stamp - Little Claire Designs
large snowflakes -  Marianne dies
small snowflakes - punch
Promarkers to colour

Card #3

Recipe
6" base card
papers and topper - Cuddly Buddly (ancient digi downloads)

This image never fails to make me smile. I just added some punched stars to finish and tie in with the papers. (I think the name has now changed to Buddly Crafts.)

Well that's it for now.

Take care and happy crafting.

Christmas Card Club Challenge # 2 Sleigh

Good morning and welcome to my blog.  Today's card is for our little Christmas Club.  We are a group of girls (I'm using the term loosely here ... lol!) who make a Christmas card every two weeks so that we don't have a mad panic later in the year.  If you are interested in joining us please let me know.  There are no prizes, it is purely a challenge to ourselves to finish our Christmas cards early.

It was Maureen's turn to choose the topic this time and she asked us to use a sleigh.  I used a bit of artistic license here because my sleigh is actually a sledge! But look closer and you will see Santa scudding across the sky in  his reindeer powered sleigh - so I've actually got a twofer!

My Card

Recipe
6 inch square scalloped card - Jellybean Crafts
digi image - Penguins at Play from Buddly Crafts
backing paper - Buddly Crafts
purple pearlised card - Jellybean Crafts
Petite scalloped  circle die - Spellbinders
Grand Decorative Circle die - Spellbinders
star gems - ancient stash

I have used a digital download from Buddly Crafts which I have had for a few years now.   The backing paper and that used for the insert is from the same set.  I used two different coloured glitters on the penguins bobble hats and again it was very old stash - Barbara Trombley's Art Glittering System, a set called Bouquet.  When I first started card making I did some stamping on acetate and used these glitters to"colour" the images.  They were very effective too.  So they must about 11 or 12 years old now.

I decided that I wasn't going to buy anything new this month - hopefully longer if I can manage to sit on my hands!  And I have also been using up some old stash too over the last couiple of weeks so I'm feeling a wee bit pleased with myself!

This card is not actually due until tomorrow but I have a DT card to post then so I always post my CCC card a day early.  Please pop back tomorrow if you would like to see what the other girls have made.  You can find their blogs in my sidebar.

Take care and have a good day.

Christmas Card Club Challenge # 3 - Jolly Santa

Good morning to you all and thanks for dropping by.  Today it is time for another card from our friendly little group who make our Christmas cards throughout the year so that we don't have a mad panic close to the time.  If you would like to join us please let me know.  You can find the blogs of my other CCC pals on my right side bar.  The lovely Lorraine has chosen for her theme this week "Jolly Santa".

My Card

Recipe
5" scalloped card base
Snowflake Lattice embossing folder - Creative expressions
Holly Corner - Cheery Lynn
Image - Cuddly Buddly
Pearls - from stash

I have kept my card simple and flat enough for minimum postage.  I think Santa and his two pals knew the theme this week because they are all smiling.

The weather is still bitterly cold and although we don't have the amount of snow forecast I think this a day to be spent inside crafting.  As if we need an excuse !!!

Keep warm and well.

Computer Boy

Good morning.  Yesterday was my birthday - I have now reached the advanced age of 65!  I can scarcely believe it!  Where did the last 25 years go because I'm sure I only celebrated my 40th  a short time ago!!  My friend Sue also retired this week so the four of us had a celebratory lunch.   We thought we would let the guys come - after all we needed somebody to pick up the bill!!  It started out by lashing with rain early on but fortunately it dried up later and the sun was shining.

My Card

Card base 6" x 6". This is a Cuddly Buddly  image and papers "Techie Teen".  It is very apt because I'm sure Sébastien was actually born attached to a piece of electronic equipment.  He certainly is now, whether it be laptop or game box  or something else.  Drives me mad, but that's youngsters these days. A couple of pieces of card candi and it was done.   Kept flat for a cheaper postage alternative.

Well, just a very quick post today.  Hope everybody is well.

Happy Birthday

Good morning friends and fellow bloggers.  I have scheduled this post because I am off to the NEC today and didn't want the hassle before I left.

My Card

Click on image to enlarge picture

This is a very simple card for Sébastien, my nephew's little boy. It is 7 x 5 inches made from white card stock. The backing papers are digi papers from Cuddly Buddly Portfolio Papers in brown. They come in other colours too. The image is from LOTV Art Pads Set 1 Vintage Boys. The sentiment label and the card candi in the corners is from Craftwork Cards.

Just a quick post today. If anybody is off to the NEC this week then I hope you have fun - and spend lots! I shall be meeting up with Mrs Duck and our Scottish friends. Should be fun!
