Christmas Card Club # 24 Teabag fold/Origami

Good morning - although it's actually pretty misty and murky here in Oxfordshire.  Time for another card for the Christmas Card Club.  This time it was Karen's choice and as you can see from the title she has chosen Teabag Fold/Origami..  Now I have only ever done teabag folding once in my life and this was when Karen chose it for a previous challenge.  I really struggled with it then and it took me simply ages!  This time I have been so pushed for time that I decided to cheat.  I hope you don't mind Karen but I have made a card with what I am calling faux origami.  It still involved cutting up and arranging squares of paper so I haven't strayed too far from the remit, I hope.

My Card

My card is approximately 15 cms square and cut from red card stock. The papers are from Hot Off The Press "Forever Christmas".  Punched snowflakes, red pearls and a peel off greeting finished a simple card.  This is totally not my style, but I actually don't think it is too bad.

Hope this finds you all well and looking forward to a good weekend.

Christmas Card Club # 21 - Carol Singers

Good afternoon to you all. This post is not due until tomorrow but my OSAAT DT card is due then.  I don't like to make two posts on the same day and I'm sure my CCC friends don't mind this.

It was my dear friend Sue P's turn to choose the theme this time, and as you can see her choice was to have Carol Singers.

I am very cross with myself because I have a stamp of Carol Singers - but could I find the blessed thing!! I settled for this very sweet LOTV topper - and as soon as I had finished the card I found my stamp!  Grrrr!! Still that means I need to make another card to feature this stamp now!  The holly and ivy die cuts are from some pale green glitter card from my stash and are a lot more sparkly in real life. I chopped them up to spread them around more evenly. I  used Glamour Dust on the fur and the snow in the image and some soft gold glitter for the lamp.

Papers - Hot Off The Press
Sentiment - Hot off the press
Pearls - Hobby House
Ivy Corner - Signature Dies from Joanna Sheen
Holly corners - Cheery Lynn

Well  we now have our phone and broadband problems resolved and so hopefully I will be back to more frequent blogging soon. Hope everybody is well. We are enjoying a little sunshine at the moment after pouring rain all morning.

Take care!

French perfume

Hello everybody. Can you believe it is February already? It seems only yesterday we were all wishing each other Happy Christmas. Yikes!!! Where does the time go? Thanks for visiting me today.  I also want to say hello to my new followers. Great to have you and if you leave a comment I can return the favour and visit you too. I do love this little crafting community we have. Everybody in Blogland is so kind and helpful.

My card today is quite a girlie card with flowers, ribbon, lace and perfume. I'm afraid I don't know the name of the stamp - it was one of those I removed from the wooden block and forgot to take down the details, silly me! I die cut it with Spellbinders Labels 8 and Decorative Labels 8. The backing papers are HOTP from the Soft Florals and Patterns scrapbooking paper pad. They are so pretty that I didn't want to cover them up too much so, unusually for me, I decided to go with an 8x8 card for a change. I ended up covering most of the ribbon except for the bow but that's okay - I know it's there! The sentiment is Craftwork Cards Circle Sentiments. I cut up a pearl flourish from Want2Scrap and added it as you see. The pretty lace was given to me by Linda from Creative Harmony. The  papers actually look quite washed out in the picture when in reality that's not the case. I guess the overhead lighting must leach out the colour, but by the time I was ready to take a picture it was getting dark.

Well that's it for today. Have a good day everybody.

Wedding Day

Hi Crafty Friends!

I have been playing around for the last few days but so far have not actually come up with a finished item.

Just in case you think  that I have left the country I decided  to post a card I made before I started my blog. I have a few cards that I made when my nephew was married so I will slip one in every now and again.

The card is 8x8. The backing paper is from a HOTP wedding pad that I have had for a few years and which has some lovely designs in very subtle shades of pink, green and grey. I used a large LOTV diecut topper for the main image and an LOTV stamp for the sentiment, die cut with Spellbinders lacy circles. The ribbon and lace was from the Ribbon Box if I remember correctly. The pearls and  little silver heart charm were from my stash.  For the box I used  a slightly smaller  diecut topper and a different LOTV sentiment.

The pictures are not very good but I forgot to photograph them before sending them to my sister so she very kindly took some pics of these and the others that I will be showing later. Thanks Jeanie!!

Well I hope that my mojo will soon make a return appearance! Until then, I hope you all have a great  and productive day.

Love and hugs from Christine xx
