Red, White and Blue at IAAS

Good morning. Here is the next challenge at IAAS and it is to show red, white and blue.

My Card

This is a 7"x5" red card base.I used a die set from Crafts Too  Background Collection called Apollo. I used Prim Poppy from Memory Box and the sentiment dies is from Sue Wilson. Why not pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have made?

Take care and have a good day.

International Art and Soul - Three of Something

Time for another challenge at INTAAS and this time it is to use three of something. The theme was chosen by Jane this time.

My Card

I am still on a mission to use older dies and the two I have used on this card are from Memory Box and I diecut them in white glitter card. The paper is extremely old and I came across quite a few sheets of this pack which was an 8x8" pad which may have been Papermania but the front sheet is missing. The sweet image is from an LOTV Simply Print sheet.

Why not pop across to the blog and see what the rest of the team have come up with for this challenge?

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Things That Fly for 12 MoC LinkUp

Good morning and it's time for a new challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas LinkUp. We are an Anything Goes challenge but it must be a card and it must Christmas or winter celebration. However, every month we add a twist to our challenge and this month the twist is "Things that fly". If you want to follow the optional twist you still have lots of choice - think Angels, Christmas Fairies, Winter Birds or Santa's Flying Reindeer. Our challenge is unique because you can win something just by entering the challenge.  Pop across to the blog and check it out.

My Card

This a 6" square base card matted with navy cardstock and I added some Stickles for snow. The Santa and reindeer die is from Sue Wilson and the house and trees die is Memory Box, as are the navy blue trees. I added lots of glitter to give a snowy appearance.

I am on a mission to use some older dies.  We seem to focus on all the latest ones and forget there are some fabulous ones in our stash.

Take care and enjoy your day.

The True Meaning of Christmas at Christmas Card Club

Good morning. It is my turn to choose the theme for our cards this time and as you can see I decided on The True Meaning of Christmas.  I think, in all the hustle and bustle of shopping, presents, decorations etc we sometimes forget what Christmas is really all about.

My Cards

I used clear embossing ink and Detail Silver embossing powder on this lovely stamp.

This card uses a die from Memory Box. The way it cuts means that you can get two cards with alternate colours with just one pass.  Quite clever really.  I don't know why I don't use it more often. The sentiment is from my pack of peel offs from about twenty years ago.

Last time Kate chose black and gold and I liked that so much that this time I went for black and silver. The first one is slim line one (not big enough to be DL) and the second one is A6.  Very difficult to photograph because the mirror card caught the light in the first one and in the second one the camera didn't pick up the glitter behind the silver circle.  They do look better in real life - but you'll have to take my word for that.

Anyway, that's it from me. Have a good day.

Going Metallic at 12 MoC LinkUp

Good morning. Our challenge this month at the 12 Months of Christmas LinkUp is to add some metallic. If you want the chance to win this month's featured paper pack, be sure that your card features something METALLIC. Add the shimmer of metal to your card by way of metallic markers, gold or silver glitter, embossing powder, wire or metal embellishments, or through the use of foil, chrome or other metallic type textures and papers, or any other way you can think of!

Keep in mind though, that you don't need to follow the twist to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month or for a chance to win a $10.00AU gift voucher from this month's sponsor, Beccy's Place. You simply need to follow the twist if you'd like a chance to win this month's featured digital paper pack, Embossed Metallic: Christmas Edition (you can see a preview for this set by clicking HERE).

My Card

I used blue glitter paper from Decosses Dynamite Doodles for my backing. The image and sentiment are from our sponsor's "Festive Baubles". I added hanging baubles from Memory Box diecut from blue glitter card and then some metal snowflakes I found in  my stash from years ago.

Why not pop across to the blog to see what the other Sleigh Belles have made for this challenge and then check back mid month to see the work of the Merry Maidens.

Have a good day.

Christmas Card Club - Blue and Silver

Good morning. It seems really weird to be posting a Christmas card in this incredible heat!! I hate saying this but I really cannot cope with these temperatures.  I overheat quickly and being very fair I also burn quickly. I hope those of you who like these conditions are enjoying it.

My Card

This is a silver base card. The image is really cute but I really don't know where I got it from.  I suspect it was a freebie and I have had it for years. I have only used it a few times. It is mounted on silver mirror card, as is the computer generated sentiment, but it does look black in the picture. Th snowflakes are Memory Box and coated in glue and pale blue Art Glitter. A couple of blue bows and some pearl drops to mimic snow and it was done.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Winter at International Art and Soul

Good morning dear friends and I hope you are all well and keeping warm. It is time for another challenge at IAAS where the theme is Winter - very appropriate.

Please scroll to previous post if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club entry

My Card

inside of card

This is a 7" square card and I used the backing paper from The Paper Shelter's "Snowboarder Girl".

The trees on the front are Memory Box and the sentiment stamp is  from Inkylicious  which I split to use over the front and inside.  Both the trees and the stamp were used on my last IAAS card two weeks ago and so I made two cards at the same time.  Lots of glitter finished off the front beautifully.

Please pop across to the blog and see what my teamies have made for the challenge.

Take care.

Nativity at Christmas Card Club

Good morning.  This is the second challenge for our Christmas Card Club where we make a Christmas card every other week in order to be ahead of the game come November. Margaret has chosen the theme and she wants to see the Nativity which is , of course, the reason for the season. I am a day early with my card and the rest of the girls will be posting on Sunday.

Card 1

For this card I used the Memory Box Starlit Nativity Scene. I cut it twice, once in black and again silver then pieced the two leaving me the opposite colourway to make a second card. For some reason I didn't notice the glue stains until  I had taken the picture.  However they came off easily with the glue eraser. Why is it you always see faults after the picture has been taken?

Card 2

This is my "Go To" die for Christmas using  a Crafter's Companion Create a Card die. I love it and it is so easy to do. I have used the last of my beautiful glitter card but hopefully I can get some more because  it puts me in mind of the sand in the desert from where the Magi made their long journey.

Well that's it from me today. Take care and enjoy the weekend. Mind you all days are the same now aren't they during lockdown?

Landscapes for International Art and Soul

Good afternoon and hope you are all well and keeping warm - unless of course you are in the southern hemisphere! Our first post at IAAS this year is to show landscapes.

My Card

This is an image from my Greeting Card Factory Deluxe programme and seems to work well.

The trees are from Memory Box and the sentiment is an Inkylicious stamp. Please pop across to the blog and check out my teamies  work.  There are some great projects.

Take care.

Use Dies for Christmas Card Club

Here we are for our final challenge of the year for our Christmas Card Club. As you can see the theme is to use die cuts and was chosen by Shaz.

I am posting  a day early because I have a DT card to post tomorrow.

My Card

This is a 6" square white base card. The image is a really sweet stamp from LOTV, Angels With Crib, which I have had for years and not used for so long. I coloured it with Promarkers. It was then die cut it with SB Lacey Circles. I used Memory box Snowflake Corner and a Carla Craft punch for the snowflakes. The backing papers were from an extremely old C&C CD. I then just blinged it up with Papermania Shimmer Dots. If in doubt use lots of bling and glitter - you cannot go wrong with that at Christmas!! I didn't use a sentiment because of the script paper.

Deer at the Christmas Card Club

Good morning every body and I hope you are all doing okay. I can scarcely believe that this the penultimate challenge for our little club in 2020. Considering this has been what Her Majesty once described as an Annus Horribilis I think it has actually flown by.  Gwen has chosen the theme which is deer.

My Card

This is a 6" square base card and although I really like the muted colours the photograph is not showing it at its best. The backing paper and topper are from the Paper Boutique's "Whisper of Winter" set. The pink card stock I used for the mat, the deer and the bauble is from Hobbycraft. The deer are from a John Next Door set and the bauble is Memory Box.

I am posting this a day early because I have a DT card to post tomorrow, so if you want to see the cards from the rest of the girls you will need to check on Sunday.

Well that's all from me. Take care!

Winter Scene at Christmas Card Club

Good morning from a very murky, misty Oxfordshire. Mrs A chose the theme for our little club today and she wants to see a winter scene.

Card # 1

This beautiful scene is an image from Greeting Card Factory Deluxe.  I printed it onto linen card stock and mounted it onto a 5" x 7" base card. Lashings of glitter just put the finishing touch to a lovely scene.  It looks so lovely on the linen card stock that I am tempted to print a larger copy and mount it as a picture to use as part of my Christmas decorations.

Card # 2

6" square white base card. I mounted navy paper onto the base card and dotted it with glitter for snow. The Memory Box die was cut from linen card stock (it was still sitting on my desk so I decided to make use of it). I then cut a wavy line for the foreground. The trees are again from Memory Box and the Father Christmas and his reindeer is a Sue Wilson die.

Hope all is well with you.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Take care.

Challenge #88 Christmas Carol/Song

We have a new challenge at IAAS. The theme is to make a card based on a Christmas Carol or Song and it was chosen by me.

My Card

This is one of my favourite Christmas stamps and I use it a lot.  It looks so different depending on the colour and embellishments used.  It is Midnight Clear by Our Daily Bread Designs (now called Divinity Designs).

Why not pop across to the blog and check out what my teamies have produced.  It's quite inspirational to see the different songs/carols chosen and the various methods used to depict them.

The sun is shining here although it is quite chilly. Hopefully you are having some sun too.

Have a good day.

Sentiment as the Focus at Christmas Card Club

Good morning. Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of weeks.  I have been really busy doing things for our WI ladies.  Since we can't meet up at all, as a committee we are trying to do things for them, so as well as keeping in touch by phone, email, newsletters etc every month when it should be our meeting we make sure we give them something.  This month I have just made and laminated fifty six bookmarks and matching greeting cards.  I also do something for our eight vulnerable ladies on a fortnightly basis. It makes it a very busy time for me but everybody is so appreciative  that it makes the hard work worthwhile.  Since I make everything two other committee ladies then have the task of distributing them on their daily walks around the village and two other nearby villages where we also have members.  I live in a third village - but I don't receive anything ... lol!

I am a day early with my card for our little Christmas club.  The other girls will be posting tomorrow but I have a DT card to post then. It was my turn to choose the theme and as you see I have gone for no image and make the sentiment the focus of the card.  This is my favourite thing to do with cards.

Card # 1

white glitter card to mat

Card 3

Nitwits Snow Princess patterned paper
sentiment stamp - Bright Christmas Heartfelt Creations
Ice Crystal Frame die - Amy Design

I have been trying to use some of my old dies and embossing folders that haven't seen the light of day for far too long yet are so lovely. The backing paper is one I have used quite often and each time I digitally alter the colour which means I can change the look so easily.

We had a bad storm on Wednesday night  and then it rained the entire day on Thursday so the wells and water butts are all well and truly filled up.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Using Green for IAAS

Good morning.  My card today is my DT card for IAAS where the theme is to use green. I don't use green too much but hey, that's what a challenge is all about isn't it?

Click HERE if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card.

My Card

Recipe
7" x5" white base card
Darice embossing folder
small swirl - Memory Box
stitched pennants - SueWilson

I die cut the swirl from the white card and another from green card and then paper pieced the green one into the negative space.  In the picture it looks as if I have just glued the swirl onto the background but in real life it actually looks quite effective.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out what my team mates have made for the challenge?

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Angels or Fairies at Christmas Card Club.

Good morning and welcome to my blog today  Hopefully you are all feeling well and not suffering from any bugs that might be around.. I have posted three times this week and two have been Christmas cards ... lol!  Good start for my collection. I decided that I would go through my received cards and see what I could rescue for recycling and this is from one of those cards.

My Card

Recipe
6" square white base card
turquoise card  - Hobbycraft
pink card from stash
recycled image
Noble Pierced Squares  dies - Sue Wilson
Dainty Dots e/f - Spellbinders
Virtuoso music die - memory Box

This is such a sweet image that it would have been a sin to put it in for recycling.  All I did was add some gold glitter to the halos and stars and job done. The colours of the papers were perfect too.

Well, that's all for today.

 Take care.

Christmas With No Image at IAAS

Good morning.  The theme for our challenge at IAAS is Christmas with no image although obviously diecuts and embellishments are welcome. Apologies again for being a day late with my DT card.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card
Stamp " Midnight Clear" - ODBD (Now Divinity Designs)
Pearlescent blue ink pad
poinsettia die - Marianne
twiggy leaves - Spellbinders
A2 Bracket Borders 1 - Spellbinders

I love this stamp and it suits the style of card so I use it often just changing the  colour and slightly different bracket border.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out the gorgeous card from my team mates? If you still have any Christmas cards to make you might take some inspiration there.

That's all for today so take care.

Snowy Forest Scene

Good morning.  Sorry this is a bit later than  I usually post.  I did actually schedule it, as I always do,  but for some reason it didn't work this time.

Kate chose the theme this time and wants to see a forest scene with lots of tree, snow and glitter.  Very wintry and Christmas-sy. Here is my offering; only one due to my busy couple of weeks recently.

My Card

Recipe
7" square white base card
green pearlescent card- Hunjydoey
green glitter card - Hobbycraft
backing paper  -the Paper Shelter
A2 bracket borders - Spellbinders
triple tree die - Memory Box
sentiment die - Sue Wilson

I love this paper and felt it didn't need too much else doing to it except adding glitter to the trees in the background and the diecut trees.

Hope this finds you all well and coping with the cold and wet weather.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.  I'm hoping for a quiet day today!
