Blue Monochrome Fisherman

Good morning.  This post is scheduled so I'm really hoping that Blogger behaves itself and publishes at the right time. Time again for another challenge at One Stitch At A Time and as you can see it is for a card, or other project, for the males in your life - Anything Goes ... With Men.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card
blue waves background paper - ancient stash from Making Cards magazine
blue fish paper - Our Daily Bread Designs
blue cardstock - Jelly Bean Crafts
Image "Gone Fishing " - Stitchy Stamps
card candi - Craftwork Cards

Please pop across to the blog and check out what the rest of Stitchy's Angels have come up with and why not think about entering the challenge?  You  could win $10 to spend in store.

Well that's all from me today. Take care.

Christmas Carol For CCC

Good morning to you all.  We have had a couple of reasonable days and yesterday was warm and sunny Yay!!  Will it last is the question?   It's almost June, for goodness sake, so it's about time the sun made up it's mind to stick around!!

As usual I am a day early in posting my card. This week it is Rita's turn to choose the theme for the Christmas Card Club and her choice is to base our card on a Christmas Carol.  Great stuff.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" card base made from green card stock in stash
gold linen card - really ancient stash
image - Christmas tree Collage - Our Daily Bread Designs
Promarkers to colour

Extremely simple and extremely flat!  I livened it up a bit with the gold card.  I also added gold glitter to the star and candles on the tree and after colouring the baubles red I added glossy accents to make them shine.

Well that's all from me today. Hope everybody is well.

Take care.

Keep Climbing

Good morning friends

First of all let me say that this card is not original. I got this set of stamps, Keep Climbing, from Our Daily Bread Designs last month and at the time I  went onto their website and saw a few cards using these stamps. I needed to do something fairly quickly today because I wanted to get it into the post and I remembered this  card so mine is almost a copy, with some changes of stamps and dies. This card is for a dear friend who is going through a very rough time right now.

Click on image to enlarge picture.

The dark green card is from my stash and I stamped the images and sentiments onto green mottled paper, also from my stash. The  verse of scripture is mounted onto one of the dies from Resplendant Rectangles.
The mountains and sentiment are from the ODBD set, and the floral images and butterfly are from a Stampendous set I bought yesterday called Wildflower Sprigs.

I have been playing with some of the stuff I bought yesterday which has been quite fun so I'm sure I will be able to incorporate something into a card soon.

Well I hope you all have a good start to the weekend.

With love from Christine xx

Congratulations

Congratulations

Hello blog friends, thanks for calling in today. Sorry for the late start. I did my post as usual but when I went to schedule it I realised I had forgotten one very important detail - I'd only forgotten to take a picture of the card, that's all!! What a cloth head! Anyway, by the time I realised this the light had gone so I had to wait until this morning to take a photograph. Bet I don't do that again!

This card is a tribute to my nephew Nigel. Last year he took part in the Marathon Des Sables.  This is an annual event and takes place in the Sahara Desert. The total distance is 151 miles - the equivalent of running 6 marathons in 7 days - in temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius!!! He is a quantity surveyor and had the support of many of  his clients in his fund raising efforts, as well as family and friends. His goal was to raise £20,000 for Mencap. In fact he raised the incredible sum of £56,000 !!!  No, I haven't made a mistake  - he really did raise £56,000. Isn't that amazing? He came in 297th out of 848 runners. Not a bad place eh? You may think I am a bit late in my congratulations, but he has just heard that he has been invited to lunch with the Countess of Wessex, the patron of the charity, at her home.  As you can imagine we are all very proud of his achievement and this is well deserved. So, well done Nigel!!!

Sneak peak at the inside, showing the 3D butterflies

Showing the stamp used on the inside.

The stamp used for this card is from Our Daily Bread Designs - Bird and Butterfly labels. Since I love Labels 18 I couldn't resist this set. I didn't have a suitable quote so after I had stamped the image and diecut it, I then taped it to a piece of paper and computer generated the quote onto the diecut. The background papers are Charcoal Prints from Dovecraft and the butterflies are Flystickers. Ribbon and beads are from my stash. As you can see I also decorated the inside of the card because I needed to be able to write something (not easy on black card!) and also so that I could use another of the lovely stamps.

Anyway, I hope you all have a good day. With love from Christine xx

I would like to enter this into One Stop Craft challenge No floral embellishments;  Crafty Cardmakers  Winged things;

Thank you for all the lovely comments you leave about my cards. I appreciate each and everyone of them!
