CCC #16 Sylvie's Theme - Tree/s

Good morning.  I am here with another card for our little Christmas Card Club. It was Sylvie's choice this time and she wanted to see trees somewhere on our cards.  If you would like to see what the other girls made with trees you will find their links on my side bar.

My card is 6" x 6".   The backing papers are from Me To You "Winter Wonderland"  which I have had for a few years and now am starting to use up some old stash.  (I'm not being as good as ScrappyMo but I am trying - some  might say very trying ... lol!)   Another LOTV topper from a couple of years ago.   I die cut the tree with Dees Distinctively A Cut Above  (what a mouthful that is!) and used glitter card - yet more very old stash.   The sentiment circle is from Craftwork Cards and  the pearls are from my stash.  It's flat enough for posting I think so I stopped myself from adding too much in the way of embellishments.

Sorry I'm not managing to do much blogging or crafting lately.  One of these days things might get back to some form of normality.  Hope you are all keeping well, and thank you for dropping by today.

Goofed Again!!

I made a real hash of my last post!!

I hit publish yesterday when I should have saved to draft and so I reverted to draft.   Now I have actually finished the post and published it, it  is showing as being published yesterday afternoon so you probably won't see it.   Just in case - if you scroll to the end of this and click on previous post you will find my current post.  I am such a numpty!

Sorry for all the messing about.

This Special Day

Good evening.  I have just got a new computer so I have not been able to to a anything for a couple of days.  John was working at my desk and I couldn't get in to do any crafting.  Saturday was taken up by John  "tidying" things up on my other one and backing everything to the external hard drive.  Sunday morning was taken up setting up the new system and downloading all the updates required.  I am not a computer geek and find all this very boring!

When my computer went down in December last year John bought me another one to replace it but just as a stop gap to give him time to "research" the situation  and decide on the one he really wanted to get for me.  Do all men spend a great deal of time on research do you think?  (He was just the same when I needed a new mobile phone!  All I wanted was one that I could talk and text etc, and as my dear friend Planet Susie said  "it doesn't need to make toast" ... lol!  I now have an all singing, all dancing phone that is totally OTT for me!  Although I do appreciate the better camera..)  But I digress! Turns out the computer I got in December  was really great and I was very happy with it and so, even though I now have the new one, he is going to keep the other one and set it up  as well.  Now why do two people need three computers?   I know we have three desks between us but even so .........

My Card

The picture is not good I'm afraid - mirri is so difficult.

My card is 6" x 6" and matted with silver mirri then another layer of white card which has been embossed with SB Dainty Dots. The corner dies are from Joycrafts. I used two stamps from JustRite Birthday Vintage Labels 4 which I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Detail Silver embossing powder. The oval sentiment sits inside the shaped flourish die so they were stamped at the same time and I then die cut it using JustRite Vintage Labels 4.   Although it is actually a set of birthday stamps I decided with the silver and white it works perfectly for a wedding or engagement card.

Hope this finds you all well and enjoying life.  Take care.

Aqua Christmas

Hi.  Yesterday I had a day out to Weston Super Mare with the Women's Institute and we had a really great day and fabulous weather.  I did remember my hat and my SPF 50.  I'm blonde and very fair skinned so burn very easily, and have suffered from heat stroke, both here and abroad, so I am very cautious.  I had no chance to visit any of your blogs so I will be playing catch up today.  I don't know about where you live but we had a doozy of a storm about 2:30 am this morning.   The thunder and lightening were amazing, and some rain to top up my wells.  Perhaps it will be a little cooler today.  Incredibly John slept through it all.

I'm back with another Christmas card today.  I actually really  love making Christmas cards!  This one is a very quick and easy one to make using Die'Sire Create A Card dies "Christmas Eve".  These dies are wonderful if you need to make lots of cards because they can be very simple or "dolled up" a bit.  I made an even simpler one which I will show in a later post.

My card is 15.5 x 15.5 cms to accommodate the layers., and made from Anna - Marie Designs cardstock because I love the weight of it. I layered it onto aqua glitter card and then onto the card base.  I put the centre die to one side and  I will use it to make a smaller card later.  I stamped the sentiment with aqua ink and die cut it with SB Classic Squares. This is one of my very early stamps on a wood block and it is from Rubber Stampede.   I added three snowflakes to the corner. The two white ones were already in my die cut drawer so I cut the aqua one to layer it up.  The large ones are Marianne Swedish snowflakes and the smaller one is a punch.  All it needed then was for me to add some Hobby House pearls in the corners and away we go - job done.

Hope you are all well and enjoying your day.

Sunny Yellow

Good morning to you all.  I think my mojo decided to take off - maybe he enjoyed the couple of weeks break when I didn't do anything and doesn't want to start back again! I have started a few cards but not managed to finish anything until now.  So I now have a finished card to show.

My Card

My card is 7" x 5" tent fold made from Anna Marie Designs card stock.  I matted it with yellow pearlescent card and then layered up with SB Elegant Labels 4. I die cut the centre with the largest die from Labels 4 and ran it though the bottom part of M-Bossabilities Framed Petite Labels to get the striped effect, and then ran a Narcissus ink pad over the raised stripes before popping it back.  The sentiment is from ODBD Little Things stamp set and die cut with SB Tranquil Moments. The striped ribbon is from my local haberdashery shop and then a few pearls finished the card. A nice sunny card to reflect the lovely sunny weather we are having.

Hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine - although I think it is not quite so nice in Scotland I'm sorry to say.  For such a small island we certainly get way different weather from one end to the other, don't we?

Take care!

CCC Challenge - # 15 - Christmas Teddy

Good morning friends and fellow bloggers.  I'm sorry that I have been AWOL for the past two weeks but there were things going on here that meant it was difficult.  I haven't even done any crafting either.  However, hopefully things are just about back to normal now so I am back with my card for the Christmas Card Club challenge. Today it was Sue P's (Planet Susie's) turn to choose the theme which is Christmas Teddies.

If you would like to see what the rest of the girls have made then you will find them in my right side bar.

My card is 6" x 6". It was matted and layered with red card and paper from Papermania "Home For Christmas". My topper is an image from my Greeting Card Factory programme and I think he is really gorgeous.  I love that he is actually clutching his own teddy.  As soon as I saw Sue's subject I knew exactly which image I wanted to use.   The red border across the centre is "Beautiful Borders",  which is an SB die for Our Daily Bread Designs.  The poinsettias are WOC and the ivy corners are a Signature die.  The sentiment was a Polkadoodles magazine freebie stamp a few years ago. And then, of course, some glitter (naturally) and a few pearls from my stash.

Hope you are all well, and if not then I hope you will soon be feeling much better.
