No Image for MAWTT Challenge # 115

Good morning. It's time for another card for MAWTT. This month it was my turn to choose the theme and I didn't want to see an image on the cards.  So if you are thinking about joining in the challenge you need to remember that.  You can us die cuts or sentiments, quotes etc but no image.

My Card

Recipe
6"square white base card
silver mirri  to matt
embossing folder - Dainty Dots Spellbinders
corner dies - Joy!crafts
label die - Vintage Labels 4 JustRite
stamps - birthday Vintage  Labels 4

My card is basically white on white with a touch of silver. I love this matching stamp and die set from JustRite and I really should use them more often.  We buy so many new products and forget the beautiful stuff we already possess. The oval sentiment sits inside the shaped flourish so I stamped them together with Versamark and detail silver embossing powder.  I think this sentiment could be used for other occasions than just birthdays.

Please pop across to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have made for this challenge and maybe you will feel inspired to join in.

Take care and have a good day.

Icicles for Christmas Card Club

Good morning and I hope you are all well.   Lorraine is our host at the Christmas Card Club and she wants to see icicles. My cards today are very simple because they were pretty last minute.

I've had an extremely busy week for card making. I had three sympathy cards to make for WI.  Our president, Jacqui, lost her mum suddenly earlier in the week.  Lilian was also the post mistress in the village for many years and was still working so she will be a great loss to the village. Jacqui and her sister both work in the shop and, being the business it is, they had to keep it open this week so you can imagine how difficult it has been for them.

I also had two cards to make for one of our members who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her daughter is also one of our members. It has been quite a difficult week all round. As I had a couple of DT cards to make too I have been rather pushed!!

My Cards

Both cards are 6" square and feature images from the Paper Shelter. The first one is "The Most Adorable Snowmen" and the second one is "For Santa". They are both mounted on glitter card from Hobbycraft. The icicle die is by Joy!Crafts. I die cut it from plain card then used Creative Expressions Fluffy Stuff and Papermania glitter to make the icicles really icy.

I'm sorry this is such a short post but I still have a couple more DT cards which are due in the next few days so I think I'd better get cracking! That will be eleven cards in a week!! Phew! I'll show some of them in future posts.

Take care.

Use Kraft at 12 Months of Christmas

Good morning and it is time again for another challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.

Our sponsor this time is Patti's Creations and the winning prize, if you followed the twist, is three digi images from her Etsy store.  You also have chance to win something just from entering the challenge so don't hang around.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
kraft card - Hobbycraft
red and green striped paper - Decosse's Dynamite
sentiment on globe - computer generated
sentiment die  - Sue Wilson
icicle die - Joy!Crafts
Promarkers to colour

Although there is an optional twist to the challenge if you would like to follow it,  mainly the idea is somewhere for you to link up all your Christmas cards throughout the year. The  twist  this time is to use kraft card/paper on your card.  The Sleigh Belles are showing their cards now and mid month you will find more inspiration from the Merry Maidens so you should check back then.

Why not go over to the blog and see the cards from the other Sleigh Belles.  This is a good chance to get ahead with your Christmas cards because the year is simply flying by now!

Take care.

Christmas/Winter Buildings for Winter Wonderland.

Good morning to all my crafty friends and I hope this finds you all well.  Here at Winter Wonderland the challenge is to use Christmas /Winter Buildings on your projects. Deanne is hosting the challenge and she suggests  cottage, cabin, church, igloo, gingerbread house etc.  Quite a lot to choose from here.

My Card

Christmas Lodge digi - Twinkle Lane Designs
Backing paper - Twinkle Lane Designs
Pierced Noble Squares - Sue Wilson
Fence - Sue Wilson
Frosted Pine tree - Memory Box
Icicle die - Joy!Crafts
Coloured with Promarkers

I used Diamond Dust on the roof of the cabin and Diamond Dust on the snow in front of the cabin and on the fir trees.

We are sponsored this time by Twinkle Lane Designs and the prize on offer for the winner is three digi images,  or three sets of digi papers or a combination of images and papers. Well that's all from me today.

Take care and happy crafting.

Christmas/Winter Scene

Good morning.  Time once again for our little group to get ahead with our Christmas cards.  Shaz chose the theme and wants to see a Christmas or Winter Scene.  I have made two cards this time.

Card #1

Recipe
6" base card all white card sock - Rymans
blue pearlescent card - Limetree Crafts
digi image - Stitchy Bear Stamps (no longer in business)
Frosty Fir and Frosty Spruce - Memory Box
Icicles - Joy!crafts.
Noble Pierced Squares - Sue Wilson

I printed the image onto a piece of cardstock which I then folded into a 6" base card. The image comes in black and white but I digitally altered it to blue because it seemed to look more frosty and chilly. I die cut a border using the Noble Pierced squares and attached it to the base card with foam tape. Lots of glitter was added to the image and the trees and the icicles were sprayed with Crafter's Companion Pearl Diamond Spray and Sparkle, although it doesn't show up too well in the picture.

Card #2

Recipe
8" base card
all other card stock from stash
stamp - Snowy Village from Petulama (ancient!)
all tree dies - Memory Box
Frosty Snowflake Corner die - Sue Wilson
Noble Pierced Squares - Sue Wilson
sentiment die - Sue Wilson
snowflakes and deer - from my box of previously cut dies

I did a very similar card a couple of years ago but that was a six inch card.  This time I just added more layers and made it a very large 8" card.  Don't ask me why because the biggest card I ever do is 7" square! I stamped the image in black and then heat embossed it with pearl plum embossing powder which looks really good when the light catches it but not so good in the photo. I also added another Noble Pierced Square border.

I'm getting on pretty well with my Christmas cards so far so I'm pretty pleased with myself ... lol!

Well that's it from me today but I will be back tomorrow with another card so hope to see you then.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Silver or Gold for Winter Wonderland

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers. Today the challenge at Winter Wonderland is to "use some silver or gold" on your card.  However, we now have two themes each week and the alternate theme is "use an embossed background"  so you can choose either theme, or maybe be adventurous and combine the two.  Since this is our last challenge before having a summer break both the Snowflakes and Icicles are taking  part so if you hop across to the blog you will find lots of inspiration.   We will back on August 26th with another challenge. Don't forget that we  accept only Christmas projects.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
silver mirri - Docrafts
backing paper - "Snowboarder" from The Paper Shelter
Image  "Wintergreen Wishes" - Crafts and Me
icicle die - JoyCrafts!
Pierced Noble Rectangle dies - Creative Expressions
Sentiment die - Britannia Dies
Promarkers to colour

Mirri card is so difficult to photograph! The icicle die was diecut from silver glitter card and I added lots of glitter to the trees and the fur trim.  I'm sure I read somewhere that it is illegal to make Christmas cards without using glitter, and since I'm such a law abiding person I have definitely complied ... lol!

We are sponsored this week by A Day For Daisies who are offering a $12 gift card for use in their store.

Our second sponsor is Crafts And Me who are offering £8 to spend instore.

Well this weekend is almost upon us and I do hope you have a great one.  Take care.

Snow Angel

Good morning.  It's time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and the theme, chosen by Anet, is "Snow Much Fun - things to do in the snow". The alternate theme is to add three embellishments.  That means you can use either theme, or even combine the two.  Mine actually combines the two - although if I'm honest that was by chance rather than design.  When I had finished my card I realised that I had added pearls, a snowflake and a row of icicles.  Anyway, I'm sure you will be able to make a card to fit - but remember Christmas Cards Only.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - cardstock from the Range
 Papers - LOTV "Snow Princess"
purple pearl card - Hunkydory Adorable Scorable
Embossing folder - Snowflake Lattice Creative Expressions
Image - "Snow Angel" from The Paper Shelter
Icicle die - Joy!Crafts
Sentimetn - computer generated
Pearls - Hobby House
Snowflake - was already die cut in my box so not sure which it is
Promarkers to colour

We are sponsored this time by Crafts U Love who are offering £10 to spend instore.

Hope this finds you all well. This post is sceduled because I am off to the NEC today  I was given a complimentary ticket so I thought I would go and see what this new show is like. The emphasis is on Stitching and Sewing I think.  None of the usual papercraft/stamping companies.

Well that's all from me so take care.

Good morning. Today's post is for Winter Wonderland's challenge  "Add some Sparkle". Our host is Anet this time. A very brief post because it is quite late and I need to schedule this post for morning. I am off to the Blenheim Palace Flower Show with my friends from WI and we are hoping for fine weather.  Keeping our fingers and toes crossed anyway.

CCC Snowy Trees

Good morning to you all and I hope it finds you all well. Thanks for dropping by. This is my card for our Christmas Card Club, which is not actually due until tomorrow, but since I have another DT card due then I am posting a day earlier as I normally do.  The theme this week is Snowy Trees and it was my choice. We take it in turn to choose the theme which makes it interesting.

My Card

Inside Card

Recipe
6" x 6" base card
Duotone blue card - Penniesworth
Background paper - "Snowboarder Girl" from The Paper Shelter
Pierced Noble Rectangles - Sue Wilson
Icicle die - Joycrafts
Frosted Spruce & Frosted Pine dies - Memory Box
Sentiment stamp - Inkylicious

I added glitter to the background trees and Twinklets Diamond Dust to the die cut trees. I put some sellotape across the bottom of the stamp which allowed me to just stamp the word "Winter".  For the inside of the card I used the same background paper but faded it.  I then moved the sellotape so that it covered the word Winter and was then able to stamp the second part of the stamp for the insert.

This was such an easy card to make but I really like it.  It could also be used for a winter/Christmas  birthday I guess.  I had a friend whose birthday was Boxing Day and he rarely got birthday cards, which is such a shame.

Anyway that's all from me today.

Take care.

In The Garden for MAWTT

Goos morning to you all and hope this finds you well.  This should have been posted yesterday for MAWTT so I'm a day late unfortunately.   To be perfectly honest I totally forgot about it and that is something I have never done before since I started to blog.  I have already apologised to Zoe, our hostess for this challenge, and to Wendy, our leader.  The theme is "In the Garden" but mine is more like a garden patio!   Please pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the A Team have come up with.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" base card - white card from Rymans
green and violet card - Lime Tree Crafts
image - LOTV Art Pad "English Charm"
Noble pierced recatngles - Sue ilson
banner die - Joy Crafts
pearls from stash

A very quick and easy card to put together and it is going into the box for my sister.  I make her a stash of a variety of cards so that she always something to choose from when she needs something.

Had a good time at the NEC yesterday although it does seem to get smaller everytime and lots of the major players missing again..  I always prefer to attend on the first day because it is quieter, but yesterday was extremely quiet!  Great to have a really good catch up with Mrs Duck, and we set the world to rights.

Last night I was out with our WI group being a vandal!  We were "yarn bombing" the village green and had great fun.  John said if we got ourselves arrested he wouldn't bail me out ... lol!!  We obviously couldn't go out until late evening because we didn't want to be spotted and get caught in the act, but by 10:30 pm it was getting pretty chilly. It all looked pretty good in the dark but I can't wait to go out today and see it in daylight.  We also decorated the railings of the Primary School with knitted bunting and pom poms.  The school is not actually  right in the centre of the village but off a street backing ontothe fields, but we wanted to amuse the children when they arrived at school this morning.

Well, I hope youall have a good day whatever you have planned.

Icicles For The Christmas Card Club

Good morning friends and fellow bloggers.  Time to make a card  for the Christmas Card Club again and this time it was my lovely blog friend Kate's turn to choose the theme and as you can see she wants to see icicles.  Living where she does she has probably seen them recently ... lol! As usual I am a day early with my post.

My Card

Recipe
6" x 6" base card
Noble Squares - Sue Wilson
aqua pearlescent card - Pennies Worth
image - "Hope"  from The Paper Shelter
icicle die - Joycrafts
gemstones - Docrafts
peel off words - ancient stash (left behind when Noah boarded the Ark)

Such a simple card but I really like the effect - and flat for mailing so a bonus there.  I have had this image for a couple of years but never used it until now. I love the unusual colours. I didn't want to spoil the card by adding a sentiment so instead I raided my stash for some tiny peel off Christmas words and just dotted them around -  not easily seen in the picture..  There are actually icicles hanging from the twigs in her hair but again the picture doesn't really show them.  I die cut the icicle strip from glitter paper and then added the bling.

Well that's all from me today.  I hope this finds you all well.

Take care and keep warm!

This Special Day

Good evening.  I have just got a new computer so I have not been able to to a anything for a couple of days.  John was working at my desk and I couldn't get in to do any crafting.  Saturday was taken up by John  "tidying" things up on my other one and backing everything to the external hard drive.  Sunday morning was taken up setting up the new system and downloading all the updates required.  I am not a computer geek and find all this very boring!

When my computer went down in December last year John bought me another one to replace it but just as a stop gap to give him time to "research" the situation  and decide on the one he really wanted to get for me.  Do all men spend a great deal of time on research do you think?  (He was just the same when I needed a new mobile phone!  All I wanted was one that I could talk and text etc, and as my dear friend Planet Susie said  "it doesn't need to make toast" ... lol!  I now have an all singing, all dancing phone that is totally OTT for me!  Although I do appreciate the better camera..)  But I digress! Turns out the computer I got in December  was really great and I was very happy with it and so, even though I now have the new one, he is going to keep the other one and set it up  as well.  Now why do two people need three computers?   I know we have three desks between us but even so .........

My Card

The picture is not good I'm afraid - mirri is so difficult.

My card is 6" x 6" and matted with silver mirri then another layer of white card which has been embossed with SB Dainty Dots. The corner dies are from Joycrafts. I used two stamps from JustRite Birthday Vintage Labels 4 which I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Detail Silver embossing powder. The oval sentiment sits inside the shaped flourish die so they were stamped at the same time and I then die cut it using JustRite Vintage Labels 4.   Although it is actually a set of birthday stamps I decided with the silver and white it works perfectly for a wedding or engagement card.

Hope this finds you all well and enjoying life.  Take care.
