No Image for MAWTT Challenge # 115

Good morning. It's time for another card for MAWTT. This month it was my turn to choose the theme and I didn't want to see an image on the cards.  So if you are thinking about joining in the challenge you need to remember that.  You can us die cuts or sentiments, quotes etc but no image.

My Card

Recipe
6"square white base card
silver mirri  to matt
embossing folder - Dainty Dots Spellbinders
corner dies - Joy!crafts
label die - Vintage Labels 4 JustRite
stamps - birthday Vintage  Labels 4

My card is basically white on white with a touch of silver. I love this matching stamp and die set from JustRite and I really should use them more often.  We buy so many new products and forget the beautiful stuff we already possess. The oval sentiment sits inside the shaped flourish so I stamped them together with Versamark and detail silver embossing powder.  I think this sentiment could be used for other occasions than just birthdays.

Please pop across to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have made for this challenge and maybe you will feel inspired to join in.

Take care and have a good day.

OSAAT # 244 Anything Goes ....... With Four Legged Friends

Good day to you and thanks for dropping by. Hope you are all well.

I think my card today stretches the boundaries a bit since it is not the four legged friend that you can actually walk on a lead ... lol!  But some people love bees  - and we really need to save the bees!  As you can see this is the challenge for One Stitch At A Time.  I am using Bumblebrella from Stitchy Stamps which you can find here.

My Card

Ingredients
6" easel card base - cream cardstock from Rymans
Backing papers - ancient magazine freebies
Large daisy - Britannia rose die
Oval dies - JustRite Vintage Labels 4
Smaller daisies and leaves - Woodware punches
Promarkers to colour
Pearls - Hobby House

I was having a clear out about six weeks ago and these papers were about to become a casualty but at the last minute I changed my mind.  As soon as I saw the Bumblebrella image I knew these were the perfect addition. The Bees Knees sentiment was also part of the set and I just cut it down and then used the JustRite dies to cut the striped and the cream matting layers.  I fussy cut the butterfly and the two bees from the papers.  Some Flax glitter for the bees wings and daisy flower centres and job done.

We would love to join us in the challenge and this is the prize you could win.

Take care.

Engagement Card

Good morning dear friends and fellow bloggers.  We have had such a bad time this year with serious illnesses and other very  bad news so it was lovely to answer the telephone the other evening.  It was my extremely excited niece ringing to say that her boyfriend had proposed to her on her birthday.  It was totally unexpected so you can imagine how excited she was.  And of course her answer was a very loud YES - or so I understand.  Ashleigh is 25 and James a year or so older so I'm hoping that it won't be too long before we are celebrating their wedding.

My Card

My card is an odd size of approximately 6.5 inches square.  6 inch was too tight for space and 7 inch was just a tad too big and left too much space between the corner die cuts and the main focal point. I made an envelobox using the Envelobox Creator from Crafters Companion. I had to put masses of bubble wrap round it so that it wouldn't get squashed in the mail because it had to go up to Co Durham. I forgot to take a picture of the envelobox and I also forgot to photograph the inside of the card! Typical!  Anyway, suffice to say both were lovely too. I started out by making the card white on white but then decided it needed just a smidgen of colour to bring it out so chose the pale pink WOC roses. I stamped the JustRite  image with Versamark and heat embossed with Detail Silver powder. Obviously the sentiment was computer generated.

Recipe
Embossing folder - Spellbinders Dainty Dots
Corner Dies - Creative Expressions "Austrian Collection "
Leaves - Creative Expressions "Faux Quilled Leaves"
Stamp - JustRite Birthday Vintage Labels 4
Die- JustRite Vintage Labels 4
Roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
Pearls - Hobby House

Well I hope everybody is feeling well and that those who have been under the weather are now on the mend.  We appear to have got back almost to normal with phone and broadband although a couple of days ago we had no phone or broadband for almost 24 hours because BT were having problems in some parts of the country, and Oxfordshire was one of those parts!  And then this morning we have been okay for broadband but had no telephone line for a few hours.  It's time BT got their act together because they really are pretty useless I think.

Well that's it from me for today.

This Special Day

Good evening.  I have just got a new computer so I have not been able to to a anything for a couple of days.  John was working at my desk and I couldn't get in to do any crafting.  Saturday was taken up by John  "tidying" things up on my other one and backing everything to the external hard drive.  Sunday morning was taken up setting up the new system and downloading all the updates required.  I am not a computer geek and find all this very boring!

When my computer went down in December last year John bought me another one to replace it but just as a stop gap to give him time to "research" the situation  and decide on the one he really wanted to get for me.  Do all men spend a great deal of time on research do you think?  (He was just the same when I needed a new mobile phone!  All I wanted was one that I could talk and text etc, and as my dear friend Planet Susie said  "it doesn't need to make toast" ... lol!  I now have an all singing, all dancing phone that is totally OTT for me!  Although I do appreciate the better camera..)  But I digress! Turns out the computer I got in December  was really great and I was very happy with it and so, even though I now have the new one, he is going to keep the other one and set it up  as well.  Now why do two people need three computers?   I know we have three desks between us but even so .........

My Card

The picture is not good I'm afraid - mirri is so difficult.

My card is 6" x 6" and matted with silver mirri then another layer of white card which has been embossed with SB Dainty Dots. The corner dies are from Joycrafts. I used two stamps from JustRite Birthday Vintage Labels 4 which I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Detail Silver embossing powder. The oval sentiment sits inside the shaped flourish die so they were stamped at the same time and I then die cut it using JustRite Vintage Labels 4.   Although it is actually a set of birthday stamps I decided with the silver and white it works perfectly for a wedding or engagement card.

Hope this finds you all well and enjoying life.  Take care.

Flower Brolly

Hi friends and fellow bloggers.  Thanks for popping by; I appreciate your visit.  I can't believe it's ten days since my last post.  It's been rather a frantic time but hopefully things are starting to get back to some form of normality.

My card is very simple because my brain appears to have hibernated and inspiration is slow to come.  I have used an LOTV image from the Cute Cottage Garden art pad and die cut it with JustRite Vintage Labels 4. The papers are from Creative Cardmaking magazines and matted onto some plain toning paper from my bit box,  The lace and pink ribbon are also just scraps left over. The butterflies are Flystickers from Hobbycraft and the pink gems are from my stash.

Hopefully I will get round to visiting your blogs now.  I'm looking forward to seeing what you have been up to .

Laughter

Good morning everybody and hope you are all well.  My goodness it was so bitterly cold yesterday! The coldest we have had so far I think, because there was an east wind too which lowered the temperature even more.  Anyway I kept busy crafting!

My Card

I cut my 7" x 5" base card from lilac pearlescent card.  The next layer is from the "Time Flies" collection by Craftwork Cards.  I stamped the image in Cocoa Brown Memento ink onto cream pearlescent card.  I tried black and purple but both were too harsh so I settled for the brown.  Stamping onto pearlescent card turned out to be not such a good idea because the image isn't sharp and it is such a shame because it's a lovely stamp.  It is rather difficult to see, because the photo is so bad, but the background of the stamp is striped and I coloured the stripes with Promarkers.  I matted this onto the largest die from SB Decorative Label 8 using the same lilac card.  The flowers are the large and medium rose dies from Britannia and the leaves are Cheery Lynn Wreath Strip.  Pearls and organza ribbon tied into a double bow finished it off.

Well that's it from me.  I hope you all have a good day.

One Of My New Dies

Hi!  I cannot believe it is a week since I posted.  I don't know where the time goes, I really don't

Last Saturday we went up to Derbyshire  and spent a lovely day at Matlock Bath and Cromford. When he was young (a long time ago!) John and a friend did a lot of rock climbing at Cromford so that was a last minute detour which brought back many memories for him, The weather was very chilly but bright and sunny - a great kind of day for walking.

My card today is very simple and uses a JustRite Custom Die which was designed by Becca Feekin. I die cut  two of the dies and then just put lots of layers on in my favourite shades.  I die cut an aster from Heartfelt Creations in the same shades and some pearls in the corners finished it off. I added a very small bow because I didn't want to obscure the lacy circle too much. It is my usual 6 x 6 inch card.

Hopefully I will get chance to play with more of my new stash soon.Somehow I managed to hurt my right shoulder and the pain was radiating from my shoulder blade up round my upper arm and into my neck. I don't suppose it could have been helping John chop down some very large branches which had come off the trees in the storm could it?  Ha ha ha! I don't know why I say chop down trees when he uses chainsaws, but it sounds good doesn't it?  I'm now singing the old Monty Python song "I'm a Lumberjack".  Anyway I've now got anti-inflammatories so at least I had a better night last night.  Apart from that I'm absolutely fine and am going to attack the crafts! Not as heavy as trees I must say.

Another bright chilly day without the extremely heavy frost of yesterday. Hope this finds you all well.

Male Birthday Card

Hi. My goodness yesterday was so cold and windy. We lit the fire just after lunch - I don't intend being cold in my own home! John will just have to keep chopping down trees. Lol. He bought a log splitter last  weekend so it will make life easier for him.

Here I am with another male card again.  I have had so many to make this year that I have totally lost my terror of men's cards.  They are not my favourites by any means - you can do so much more for the ladies!! - but I don't recoil in horror at the thought now.

My Card

As you can see this was inspired by one of Sue Wilson's cards a couple of weeks ago and it was for my nephew to give to his dad. I posted the one I made for my sister to give - and totally forgot to take a picture of my own. Early onset dementia!!! I again used the "Explore" stamp set and matching Vintage Labels 4  dies from JustRite Stampers.  I die cut the large label from an old map of Europe which I found on the internet. The cogs and sprockets were die cut from Papermania Chronology Collection. This card is 6 x 6 and made as an easel card - obviously.  I placed the sentiment verse on the underside which then makes it quite private to put a personal message on.  Darren like it anyway, and he also thought the retirement card I did for him was great. (Well not actually for him but his colleague!)

Well that's it from me.  Hope you are all well but if not I hope you get better quickly.
