A Sketch For MAWTT

Good moring to all my friends and fellow bloggers. Today at MAWTT it is Carole's turn to choose the theme and we have a sketch to work from.

My Card

Recipe
6" square card base - Hobbycraft card stock
lilac card - Hobbycraft
DSP - Nitwits
Classic Circle dies - Spellbinders
Classic Scalloped circle dies - Spellbinders
Topper - Sympathy Bug from Hobby House
Ribbon - Poundshop

I just added some pearls, a peel off greeting and lots of glitter to the wings and I was done. I used different coloured glitters to match the colours in the wings and it worked out well. So this is a card to go into the box for when needed.

Just a very quick post today because I have a busy day ahead.  Hope things are well with you all.

Christmas Goose

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers. It's time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland  and this time I am hosting the challenge for the Snowflakes team. I sometimes find that I get stuck in a rut so I decided to shake myself up - and every body else too- and my choice of theme is a sketch.

My Card

There is alos an alternate challenge which is Tic Tac Toe so pop over to the blog where you will find the grid.

My Card

Recipe
7" square card - Anna Marie Designs
green card stock- Rymans
patterned card stock -
ribbon - from stash
digi image - Christmas Goose from Beccy's Place
sentiment - computer generated
Lacy Circle dies - Spellbinders
Snowflake e/f - Creative Expressions
Promarkers to colour

As you can see I went with the sketch. I just love this goose - it has such attitude! The card just kind of made itself. The Christmas tree bulbs were something I picked up off the internet and printed them onto photo paper to give them a shine.

We have two sponsors this week.  The first is Beccy's Place , offering the winner three single digi images or one digi set.  Our second sponsor is Crafty Ribbons offering $10 to spend instore.  We would love you to join in with our challenge but do remember Christmas projects only!  Why not pop over to the blog and check out what the rest of the Snowflake Team have made and it may inspire you to join in.

Hope all is well with you.

Take care.

OSAAT - Something Special

Good morning to you all.  Challenge 271 at OSAAT is to make something special which could be for birthday, anniversary, new baby, new home .... You get the picture I'm sure and the remit is so wide that I'm sure you can find something if you care to join us in our challenge.

Hats and Gloves for Christmas Card Club

Good morning. Well we are back to the more normal weather for this time of the year. I saw on the weather report last night that it was 30 degrees somewhere yesterday and today it will be 13.  Wow that's some difference!  They might well need their hats and gloves today!

Today the lovely Kate has asked us to use hats and gloves on our cards and this is what I have come up with.  Mr Mojo has still not returned from his extended holiday so my cards are all fairly simple at the moment. I hope he decides to come back soon!

My Card

Recipe
6" square cream pearlescent base card -  from Crafters Companion card stock
backing papers - Dovecraft "Glad Tidings"
Image - Pink Gem "Snow Hugs"
Frosted Spruce and Frosted Pine trees - Memory Box
Noble Double Pierced Squares - Sue Wilson
Wooden bell - ancient stash

I decided to use cream as my background rather than white then had to search through my papers to make sure there was cream on them as opposed tothe usual white.  I have three Dovecraft  8 x 8" pads (courtesy of Every Crafts a Pound at the NEC) and two of them were suitable with cream so basically that was about it; a couple of embellishments and job done.

My card is a day early because I have another  DT card to post tomorrow.

Hope you are all well.

Borrowed Dies

Good morning to all my friends and fellow bloggers, and many thanks for dropping by today. Well we are having some glorious weather again, what we used to call an Indian Summer, but I think it is only due to last a few days.

A couple of days ago I admired the die that my friend Jenny - Cardsarus - had used on her card that day. She very kindly loaned me the dies and wow!  I have really fallen in love with this Tonic Twisting Veranda Layering die set and I have used it on my card today.  This is definitely at the top of my "must have" list!

My Card

Recipe
White card stock - Hobbycraft
Lilac card stock - Core'dinations
Twisting Veranda dies - Tonic
Maidenhair fern - Sue Wilson
Sentiment stamp - JustRite Birthday Vintage Labels 4
Purple/White Tone Bloom Set flowers - Wild Orchid Craft
Ribbon - stash
Pearls - The Hobby House

I used the largest die to make an easel card and then just took it fom there.  As you can see I used quite a lot of the eleven dies from the set ... lol!I can't wait to make another card - possibly using fewer dies, but I got carried away!Thank you so much Jenny!!!

Well that's all from me today.  Hope everybody is well and if not I hope you feel better soon.

Take care!

Krafty Layers

Good morning.  Hope everyone is well and thank you for calling in today. This time at Winter Wonderland Cindy has asked us to use "lots of layers" on our cards.  However, we also have an alternate theme which is "Wish upon a star" so if you would like to join in our challenge this time you can use either theme, both themes, or even combine the themes.

My Card

Recipe

6 " square base card - kraft cardstock  from Dovecraft
ivory pearlescent cardstock - Crafter's Companion
Noble double pierced rectangles - Creative Expressions
Holly corner die -  Cheery Lynn
DSP - Handmade Holiday pad from Simple Stories

As you can see I went with lots of layers and produced a very simple, flat card. I made a 6"  square base card using kraft card. I then just cut some images from the pad and added  holly dies and a little bling.  I did add a gold star die cut which I found in my die cuts box so I guess I covered both themes though by default!!  Easy peasy - it had to be because Mr Mojo still hasn't shown up!

We are sponsored this time by  MRDesigns

and she is offering 10 euro's to spend instore.

Why not pop acros to the blog and see the inspiration from the Snowflakes team?

Take care and have a great day.

Golden Wedding

Hello to you all.   Hope everybody is well.

Today I am showing a card that I made for my cousin, who has been married for 50 years. My goodness I cannot believe it!  I was 16 when I was her bridesmaid and it certainly doesn't seem that long ago!

My Card

Recipe
5 x 7"  base card - made from Crafters Companion pearlescent card
gold mirri card - Dovecraft
Tied Together e/f - Couture Creations
Anjas large oval dies - Marianne Creatables
roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
rose leaf spray -  Brittania dies
gold pearls - Meiflower
sentiment - computer genearted

There are so many new dies that we tend to forget that some of our older ones are very beautiful.  I have decided to keep going back into my collection and using some of them.

Take care and have a good day.

Using Lace and Pearls for OSAAT

Good morning to you all.  Here is my DT card for OSAAT challenge # 270 Anything goes With Lace and/or Pearls.  Another simple card for me because time seems to be slipping away from me- and I think Mr Mojo must have taken the trip up north with me decided to stay on with my sister!

Please scroll down if you are looking for my Christmas Card Club card.

My Card

Recipe
5 x 7 " white base card - Hobbycraft Card stock
purplepearlescent card - Jellybean Crafts
nacking paper - French Lavender from Papermania
Labels 16 - Spellbinders
Digi Image - Stitcher Fae from Stitchy Stamps
lace - local haberdashery shop
pearls - Docrafts
Promarkers to colour

I wanted to use the largest die for the image but that meant I didn't have one for matting, so after printing the digi, I coloured the edge of the die with ink and then carefully die cut the image.   Looks just the same but one less layer so hopefully it will be flat enough for posting.  I haven't added a sentiment yet because I'm not sure wha,t or who, it will be for.

Please pop over to the blog and check out the work of the rest of Stitchy's Angels and you might decide to join us in our challenge.  A nice easy one this time and this is the prize you could win.

Hope everybody is well and enjoying the weekend.

Take care.

A Wintry Scene

Good morning.  Time once more for our little Christmas Card Club to produce a card to save us from panicking when Christmas suddenly appears out of nowhere!  I always find it amazing that it seems to catch us by surprise every year - and yet the date is the same every year.  We could be forgiven for getting caught out by Easter which could be classed as "a moveable feast" since the the date is different every year - but Christmas ........... Anyway our little club beavers away all year round and it helps to take the strain out of things.

This time Rachel has asked us to make a scene and so that is is exactly what I have done. Actually I think this would also make a great winter birthday card.

My Card

Recipe
Fancy step card - Craftwork Cards
Image - Greeting Cards Factory De Luxe
Frosty Spruce and Frosty Pine dies - Memory Box
Sentiment - computer generated.

This image was so lovely I decided it needed very little in the way of embellishment. I printed the image twice and cut the second one in half for the sides of the step card. I diecut the trees in navy card and then just added lashings of glitter.  Voila!  Job done!

Well the sun is shining brightly through the window as I'm writing this Christmas post!!  Bodes well for the rest of theday, although John has just told me it is going torain.  Well, saves watering the garden!!. Hope you enjoy  whatever you have planned - or maybe you are just having a lazy weekend!

Take care.

Harbour Scene for MAWTT

Good morning dear friends and fellow bloggers.  Sorry I have been MIA for a while.  I went up north to spend a week with my sister.  Oh boy, did we have fun and we laughed so hard I'm sure some of you must have heard us - particularly Carole (Pollard), since my sister lives in Billingham. I went to the Crafters Companion store and spent too much! Par for the course when you are let loose in a craft store!

My Card

It is the A team's turn to make a card for MAWTT and our host is Ang, Mrs Duck, who has asked us to include something from the first verse of the Eurovision Song Contest winner by Dana way back in 1970 - All Kinds Of Everything.  I remember watching it in the Nurses Home sitting room when I was a student nurse. Obviously you younger folk will have no idea what we are talking about so to help you along, if you decide to join in with our challenge, here is the first verse for you.

"Snowdrops and daffodils
Butterflies and bees,
Sailboats and fishermen,
Things of the sea.
Wishing wells, wedding bells,
Early morning dew,
All kinds of everything
Remind me of you."

Please choose from lines 1-6 -  we don't all kinds of everything on one card ... lol!

Recipe
6 " square white base card
navy card for matting - from stash
linen card stock - Hobbycraft
hessian strip - Hobbycraft
Ship's anchor die - Cheery Lynn
Digi image - In The Harbour
Sentiment - computer generated.
Promarkers to colour.

I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying some good weather.

Take care!
