Snowglobes for Christmas Card Club.

The theme for  Challenge # 21 is Snowglobes and has been chosen by Gwen.

My Card

I have used a Snowglobe die from The Works.  These dies are a very reasonable price and cut beautifully.

I used a sentiment die from Sue Wilson and the trees are from John Next Door. Very flat for posting - always a bonus at Christmas.

I hope you are all well and enjoying this lovely autumnal weather.  It is really weird because my geraniums in the pots at the front of the house are all in full bud again and just about to bloom. Very strange weather indeed.

Winter Wonderland Peace on Earth

Good morning. Time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland. The theme, as chosen by Michelle, is Peace on Earth. We are sponsored by Sheepski Designs this month.

My Card

This is a six inch black square card and I die cut a frame using Pressscut Stitch Dot Squares.

The image is Winter Deer from our sponsor and the stamped sentiment is from Little Claire many years ago. I then just added a couple of snowflake dies  from The Works. A CAS card and flat for cheaper posting.

Why not go over to the blog and see the rest of the cards from the DT and maybe you will be inspired to join in with the chance to win three images of your choice.

I hope you all have a lovely Easter Weekend.

Take care

Sentiments for Christmas Card Club

Good morning and apologies to Rachel and my CCC friends for being so late with my card. The theme this time is Christmas Sentiments.

Card #1

Recipe
7" x 5" card - made from Limetree Crafts card stock
acetate - Limetree Crafts
sentiment paper - unknown digital from stash
snowflake die - The Works

This was the most difficult card to photograph! From the front I caught my own reflection, turning to one side I got the reflections from the hedge outside, turning it the other way I got the reflection of the trees, (we have two very large windows), I was also catching the reflection of the vertical blinds, when I closed them trying to stop the reflections, making it look striped! Arrgh! Ready to scream at this point. I really cannot believe I actually managed to get this with no reflection in the end having moved things around the room into various positions. If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again - and again, and again and again ....😁😂

Card# 2

This one is an extremely simple card.  The image is from a 12" Christmas paper pad which I bought from Crafters Companion a couple of years ago. There are four lovely images on the page. I just matted it onto turquoise card stock, attached it to 7" base card and added pearls. Easy peasy.  Two very flat cards to post.

Tic Tac Toe at IAAS

Good day to you all. I hope it finds you well.  We have some sunshine here in Oxfordshire which is rather pleasant since it has been like winter lately and been lighting the wood burners.

We had some fun this time around with a Tic Tac Toe grid, chosen by DT member Jane.  Ifollowed the left vertical column and  used up some Hunkydory scraps I found in my box to make this card that I will be sending to my sister.

My Card

Recipe

5 x 7" ivory card base

Hunkydory paper

bird die - The Works

sentiment die - Sue Wilson

I

We had fun this time with the tic toe grid so please pop over to the blog and check out he DT makes and perhaps join in with us.

Take care.

Make it Red for the Christmas Card Club

Good morning.  I'm here with my cards for our friendly little Christmas Card Challenge group. As usual I'm a day early. The idea is to make our cards mainly red, so very traditional this time.

Card # 1

Recipe
Red base card made from cardstock I bought at the NEC
embossing folder - Falling Snow Sue Wilson
snowflake border - The Works
image - Hunkydory Little Book of Christmas Poems

Card # 2

 Recipe
Red card as above
image - Greeting Card Factory
e/f - Snowflake Lattice Sue Wilson
snowflake edge die - unknown
scalloped circle die - Spellbinders
twiggy leaves - Sue Wilson

Card # 3

Recipe
A6 white base card
red card - as above
e/f - Crafts Too
snowflake die - The Works

Three simple but very different cards and all meeting the brief - and building up my stash. We do have the option of going for "Anything Goes" but I like to challenge myself to fulfill the brief - and I find I procrastinate too much with anything goes and so find it more difficult.

Anyway, I hope you haven't been washed away or blown away with this awful weather.  Thoughts and prayers are with anyone experiencing difficulties and especially those  in Texas.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Favourite Colours at Winter Wonderland

Good  morning and I hope you are well.  The new challenge has started at Winter Wonderland and the theme is to use your favourite colour combination. We are sponsored by All Dressed Up.   I odn't really have a favourite colour combo for Christmas cards but I do think blue always seems to give a cold icy feel but I| have never teamed it with yellow before.

My Card

Recipe
7" x 5" blue base card - Hobbycraft
backing paper Decosses Dynamite
image - Sledging Pup from sponsor
snowflake border - The Works
promarkers tocolour
computer generated sentiment

Why not pop over to the blog and check out what colours the rest of the DT have used.

Stay safe and well.

Baubles for Christmas Card Club

Good morning and hope this finds you well. For the first timer ever I totally lost track of the days this week and in fact was a day ahead of myself from Thursday. John takes his lead from me so when I cooked fish and chips on Thursday, thinking it was Friday, he assumed it was Friday as well and I only realised on Saturday evening when I apologised to the leader of  our blog IAAS for being a little tardy entering my card into the post.  I made her think twice too!!

Anyway, the lovely Kate chose our theme this week and she wants to see a bauble or baubles on our cards.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card
Mirri card - stash
Falling Snow e/f - Sue Wilson
Noble pierced squares - Sue Wilson
Bauble - The Works
Holly Corner die - Joanna Sheen

As usual mirri card is notoriously difficult to photograph.  Despite my best efforts this was the best I managed - and even then my bright pink Tshirt is reflected at the bottom

We have had some lovely weather of late and I have been helping John outside.  I'm sure he thinks he is Capability Brown, but I must admit he is doing a good job so I shouldn't mock.

If you want to see the cards from the other girls check out my sidebar for their details.

Take care and stay safe.

Polar Bears or Penguins for Christmas Card Club

Good morning. Just a quick post from me.   I have had rather a trying week so I only have one card to show today. The theme, chosen by Shaz, is to use pengins or polar bears.

My Card

view from side

Recipe
ice blue glitter card - Crafters Companion
white glitter card from stash
polar bear dies - Britannia Dies
evergreen trio - Memory Box
sentiment die - Sue Wilson
snowflake die - The Works.

I made a side stepper card this time by using a piece of cardstock 7" x 11" which when cut, scored and folded becomes 7" x 5.5".  I love the Mama Polar bear and her little cubs marching along beside her. I cut them from plain white cardstock but everything else was cut from glitter card - which was very difficult to photograph. I tried using flash but that was just too bright and glaring so this was the best of a bad job.  The weather has been so bad and it's been pretty dark all day.

Hope you are all well and managing to stay dry!

Take care.

It's Merry and Bright at Winter Wonderland

Good morning to you all and I hope this finds you all well. This post was due yesterday but my new computer was delivered late yesterday morning and I had no access to my computer until the evening while John was setting it up and transferring stuff over from one to the other.  That is an ongoing task as there is a lot to sort.  However, at least I have access to emails, blogger etc. And that is when I discovered that although I thought I had scheduled my post it certainly didn't appear.  I didn't realise this until evening so I decided to delay posting until this morning.

My Card

Recipe
6"square base card - cut from ivory Card Craft UK card
backing papers - "Handmade Holidays" by Simple Stories
digi images - Sherry West
square notched corner dies - Presscut
snowflake dies - The Works
Promarkers to colour.

This is my DT card for Winter Wonderland.  We have a new sponsor this month Sherry West Art and she is offering "a surprise " for the winner!

Why not pop across to the blog and check out what the rest of the team have made with the images Sherry supplied and maybe get some inspiration.

Take care.

Things With Wings at MAWTT

Good morning.  I must admit to feeling thankful that the weather has turned a wee bit cooler.  Unfortunately I'm not on of those people who love to bake in the sun, and sleeping in this heat proves virtually impossible so with lack of sleep and feeling drained from the heat I have not exactly been firing on all cylinders.

Time for another challenge at MAWTT and the theme is "Things With Wings".  Now this doesn't have to be just butterflies and birds, although they certainly spring to mind first and foremost as I have proven with my card. You could choose fairies, planes, dragonflies etc.

My Card

Recipe
6" square white base card - Rymans
papers and topper - "Butterfly Ballet" from the Paper Boutique
raspberry card for matting - from stash
bird dies - The Works.

These papers and toppers from this set are so gorgeous the card almost made itself. The Paper Boutique really have such fabulous papers and I have a few different sets, including Christmas, so you will be seeing more.

Just a quick post today but why not pop over to the blog and see what my teamies have come up with for this challenge?

Take care.

Stars and Stripes

Good morning.  Today my card is my DST card for the challenge at IAAS the theme of which is Stars and/or Stripes.  I managed to incorporate both into my card.

If you are looking for my CCC card please scroll down to previous post.

My Card

Recipe
5" x 7" tent card - black card Rymans
silvery grey card - ancient card from stash
striped card - Pennies Worth
lime card - LimeTree Crafts
starry e/f - Tatty Teddy
star dies - the Works
Stitched Flags and pennants - Sue Wilson

I never use this bright lime green but it just added a lovely pop of color and seemed to bring it alive. I used a peel off birthday greeting on the pennants. Actually, although I call it lime green the colour on the pack says "chartreuse" - very posh - but still lime to me!

I think this card could be for anyone but it will be added to my small stock of male cards.  Please pop over to the blog and see what my teamies have made for this challenge.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Bugs at MAWTT

Good morning. It is time for another challenge for Team B at MAWTT and Jessie has chosen the theme and she would like to see bugs on your card or project. Now bugs can mean butterflies, dragon flies, bees, ladybirds, spiders etc.  I have managed to incorporate a bee and some butterflies on my card.

My Card

Recipe
6" square white base card
lilac pearlescent card stock - from stash
paper and topper - Butterfly Ballet from The Paper Boutique
butterfly dies - The Works
Pierced Noble Rectangles - Sue Wilson

This is such a simple card but it is quite pretty. I covered the front of the card with paper from this beautiful pack and then added a frame on top. The lilac pearlescent card stock is from my stash but I'm afraid I cannot remember where I bought it.

Why not pop over to the blog and see what my team mates have made for this challenge and you might be inspired to join in with us. For this challenge you could make male cards or children's card with this theme too.

Hope you have a great day. I'm sure I will - I am off to the NEC to meet up with Mrs Duck where we will no doubt put the world to rights.

Take care.

Birds for Christmas Card Club

Good morning  Golly these two weeks soon fly by don't they?

As usual my card is a day early because I have a DT card to post tomorrow.

Gwen joined our happy little club this year and she has chosen the theme of birds for us this time. If you would like to get ahead with your Christmas cards so that youdon't have a mad panic in November - or even worse December!!- you are very welcome to join us.  Leave a  note in my comments and I will put you in touch with Margaret, our fearless leader who runs our little group so brilliantly!!

Card #1

Recipe
 A6 card base
LOTV image
Falling Snow e/f - Sue Wilson
large ovals  Spellbinders
sentiment die - Sue Wilson
wooden snowflakes from stash

The blue oval looks extremely lopsided but it's perfectly square, if you see what I mean!  It is obviously the angle I took the picture that makes it look so odd.

Card #2

Recipe
zed fold base card made from Rymans red card stock
papers - LOTV Scandi Christmas
image from Greeting Card Factory
sentiment die - as above
snowflake die- The Works
nestie dies - The Works
pearls from stash

We have had a few lovely days weather-wise and yesterday was really super so we went to Draycote Water,  which is a reservoir and country park near Dunchurch in Warwickshire. There is a five mile walk round the reservoir and there is also a bird hide part way round. It made for a nice walk and of course tea and cake in the cafe afterwards.

That's all from me.  Take care and have a lovely weekend.

New Year Card

Good morning.  I had rather a sad and stressful few weeks coming up to Christmas and some of my Christmas cards just didn't make it to the post office I'm afraid. On the plus side it does mean that I am ahead on cards for Christmas 2019!  During the week between Christmas and New Year I made a couple of New Year cards for some friends who live a long way from us and whom we rarely see.

My Card

Recipe
6" square base card - Hobbycraft card stock
silver mirri and silver glitter card - Crafter's Companion
number dies - Spellbinders
large pennant die - The Works
small stitched pennant die - Sue Wilson
star die -  Spellbinders
navy/silver spotted paper - Crafter's Companion "Decorative Christmas"pad
white ribbed card - Jelly Bean Crafts
sentiment - computer generated

I wanted to extend the large pennant so I die cut it twice in the two mediums and joined them behind the sentiment pennant.  This card came together so easily.  I knew in my mind exactly what I wanted to achieve - and it came out just as I had envisioned for once.

It was very difficult to photograph because the light was so bad. The spotted paper really is gorgeous in real life. The numbers look black but are in fact navy.  All in all it looks so much better than the picture shows.

Well that's it from me today.  Have a good day.

Take care.

Snowflakes for Christmas Card Club

Good morning. The ladies in our Christmas Card Club will be publishing their first card of the year tomorrow.  We make a Christmas card every two weeks and post it on our own blogs.  This is not a challenge just a way of getting ahead with our cards so we are not panicking as Christmas approaches.  If you would like to join us you can contact our leader Margaret (Duchess). I post my card a day early because I post a DT card on the Sunday. We take turns to choose the theme and my choice for this first post of the year is to use snowflakes on your card.

My Card

Recipe
7" square base card - Anne Marie Designs
teal pearlescent card - Jelly Bean Crafts
teal non shed glitter card - Hobbycrafts
embossing Folder - John Next Door
sentiment die - Sue Wilson
large snowflake - Create a Flake -Spellbinders
other snowflakes - The Works dies

I made a real flurry of snowflakes on my card; quite a snowstorm in fact!  There are snowflakes all over the embossed background, in the sentiment die and a flurry of mixed dies in the corner.

If you would like to see what the other club members have made you will find their details in my side bar.

It is only January 5th and I have already made two Christmas cards so I'm ahead of my target ... lol! Here's hoping I keep it up because I have decided to make at least one Christmas card every week.

I hope you all have a good weekend.

Take care.

Add Your Heart at Winter Wonderland

Sorry I'm late with this post.  Over the past couple of days I have been riddled with problems and yesterday we had no electricity for eight hours!!!  Eight hours, can you believe it?  Ah well, we survived by getting out the camping stove to boil water for drinks and eating cold cereal and sandwiches.  John had withdrawal symptoms with no porridge! And also no computer or internet!!!!

Time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and the theme is "All hearts come home for Christmas"  where you will need to add at least one heart on our Christmas project.

My Card

Well it has certainly been an extremely wet day today after all the lovely warm/hot sunny days so I certainly hope the sun will be back soon.

Take care and enjoy the Bank Holiday Weekend.

All About The Boys at International Art and Soul

Good morning and hope everybody is well and happy.  My card today is for IAAS.  We are a Just For Fun challenge blog and we post every second Sunday.  The DT take it in turns to choose the theme and this time it is the turn of my good friend Planet Susie.  Unfortunately Sue is unwell and unable to take part in her challenge so I hope we have done her proud.  She wants to see cards for the men or boys in our lives.

Please scroll down to previous post if you are looking for my
Christmas Card Club card.
My Card

Recipe
6" square kraft card base.
papers -  Father Knows Best (disc) LOTV
Banner dies - The Works
Nesting Star dies - Sweet Dixie
sentiment - computer generated

It's always good to have a masculine card tucked away in your box of cards I think.  These dies from The Works are such good value and cut beautifully.

Of late my cards have all been very simple but I guess that's not always a bad thing.  My mojo went walkabout months ago and hasn't found his way back yet. Until he does I'll just plod along producing what I can when I can.

I spent a few hours in the garden on Saturday so the beds are all ready for the bedding plants to be planted up.  I also used the weed killer on the gravel borders and all the patios. Now I remember why I always leave this job for John !!  Gosh my shoulders are letting me know how heavy that flipping back pack set up is!!  John is on antibiotics for a chest infection so isn't feeling 100% so Mrs H to the rescue.  If I'd remembered how heavy it was I'd have left it for him when he was better ... lol!!  Just kidding!

Please pop across to the blog and see what my teamies have produced and maybe you will feel inspired to join us.

Take care and enjoy what remains of the weekend.
